When useful idiots of the West kowtow to or appease jihadist leaders, it sends a wider message to all jihadists about how they will react to jihad violence within their own countries, and about how they can be manipulated in order to get money.
France has a jihad problem, amplified by its suicidal immigration policy. France also has a problem with soaring antisemitism. Yet both France and the UK are involved in discussions with Saudi Arabia toward recognizing Palestinian statehood, and are completely biased against Israel.
French President Emmanuel Macron is a weasel of a politician with questionable values that threaten the future of France as a free society. He routinely plays a double game: on one hand, when he wants to boost his popularity, he plays the public by cracking down on jihad threats. On the other hand, he nurtures these same threats via anti-Israel gestures and now by welcoming the brutal jihad terrorist Al-Jolani. Now that Macron’s main political opponent, Marine Le Pen, was unjustifiably banned from the presidential race, Macron is showing his true colors.
A reminder about who Syrian leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani really is under his facade. Remember that for reasons of expedience, he dropped his jihadi monicker and reverted to his original name of Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa. Before that, he served his religion as the leader of the Salafist Al-Nusra Front, aka the Front for the Conquest of the Levant. Its goal was conquest: these jihadis wanted to overthrow Al-Assad and establish an Islamic State governed by Sharia law.
According to the Institute for the Study of War in Washington: Jabhat al-Nusra (Al-Nusra Front) during the Syrian civil war “rivals ISIS as a sophisticated, intelligent, strategic actor in the region and continues to enjoy a dangerous freedom to operate in Syria. The two groups share common goals, including a revived Islamic Caliphate. JN, however, is pursuing its aims through a distinct, more patient methodology that is highly threatening despite its low signature. Whereas ISIS has announced its state and tried to legitimize it by conquest, JN is following AQ leader Ayman al-Zawahiri’s method of fomenting a religious and social revolution by embedding itself within an indigenous insurgency. The Syrian war has provided JN a nearly ideal environment within which to implement this strategy on behalf of al-Qaeda, and JN has enjoyed worrying success to date.”
Macron is now boosting al-Jolani’s reputation while al-Jolani’s jihadist thugs massacre the Druze, Alawis, Christians and other minorities. Thanks to Macron, al-Jolani is a step closer to his goal of global normalization and funding from the West, especially now that Macron supports easing sanctions on Syria.
In the view of problematic Westerners such as Macron, a jihadist posing in a suit with a new name, flashing a warm smile and a offering a handshake, is a “moderate” Muslim.

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on Wednesday met French leader Emmanuel Macron on his first visit to Europe since overthrowing longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad, despite alarm over deadly clashes that have overshadowed the new authorities’ first months in power.
Ahead of the high-profile talks at the Elysee Palace, Sharaa and his foreign minister met a whistleblower who helped document horrific torture under long-time ruler Bashar al-Assad.
Sharaa and Assaad al-Shibani “met with Farid al-Madhan, known as ‘Caesar’”, the Syrian presidency said.
Sharaa and other top Syrian officials, who took power after the fall of president Assad in December, have roots in the Al-Qaeda jihadist network.
They are under pressure from Europe to show they are serious about protecting human rights as Damascus seeks the full lifting of Assad-era sanctions after 14 years of devastating war.
Madhan revealed his identity in February during an interview with broadcaster Al Jazeera. He fled Syria in 2013 with some 55,000 graphic images including photographs showing emaciated bodies and people with their eyes gouged out.
The photographs inspired a 2020 US law which imposed economic sanctions on Syria and judicial proceedings in Europe against Assad’s entourage.
In Paris with Macron, Sharaa will discuss post-war reconstruction and economic cooperation, a Syrian government official said.
“This meeting is part of France’s historic commitment to the Syrian people who aspire to peace and democracy,” the Elysee Palace said.
By welcoming Sharaa, Macron hopes to help the authorities on the way to “a free, stable, sovereign Syria that respects all components of Syrian society”, a French presidential official told AFP….
