MAGA Isn’t Buying Pam Bondi’s Explanation On Epstein Video Footage

Peloni:  See Report of Bongino possibly to quit over Epstein mishandling by Bondi at the bottom.

Attorney General (AG) Pam Bondi addressed the missing minute in Jeffrey Epstein’s jailhouse footage at a Trump Cabinet meeting Tuesday, sparking renewed scrutiny from MAGA.

Bondi fielded several questions from a reporter regarding the memo’s release, Epstein’s possible ties to intelligence and missing footage from the jailhouse video. (RELATED: Dershowitz Claims He Saw Full Epstein Client List While Defending Himself In Giuffre Case)

“Your memo released yesterday on Jeffrey Epstein left some lingering mysteries. One of the biggest ones is whether he ever worked for an American or foreign intelligence agency.”

“So could you resolve whether or not he did? And also, could you say why there was a minute missing from the jailhouse tape?” the reporter asked.

“The video was not conclusive, but the evidence prior to it was showing he committed suicide,” Bondi stated at the press conference.

“And there was a minute that was off the counter, and what we learned from the Bureau of Prisons is every night they redo that video, so every night the video is reset, and every night should have the same minute missing,” she added.

A Department of Justice (DOJ) memo obtained by Axios Sunday said there was no “incriminating ‘client list,’” and Epstein died by suicide.

Multiple prominent conservative media figures including Mike Benz, Jack Posobiec and Glenn Beck expressed disappointment in the lack of transparency.

Beck called for Bondi to resign over “incompetence” and pointed out apparent inconsistencies in the released footage.

“What the DOJ gave us was a partial view of the facility, which JUST MISSES Epstein’s cell,” Beck stated in a post on X.

“We’ve known for years there wasn’t a working camera on his cell, so WHY RELEASE THIS VIDEO? And why not tell us there’s a video glitch in advance of the release?!”

Posobiec, one of the media figures who received Epstein-related documents from Bondi in February, voiced his frustration Wednesday.

“I am sick of the lies! … You looked at us and you lied right to our faces,” he said on his show “Human Events with Jack Posobiec.”

The nearly 11-hours of footage show the common area of the Special Housing Unit (SHU) outside Epstein’s cell from the evening of August 9 through the early hours of August 10 — the night Epstein died according to authorities. Epstein was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges at the time of his death.

The memo states the FBI worked to further enhance the footage for improved “clarity” and “view-ability.”

A digital clock visible on the bottom left corner of the video skips from 11:58:58 p.m. to 12:00:00 a.m., and the footage also fails to show the moment prison guards entered Epstein’s cell and discovered his body.

Images of Epstein’s cell were made public by CBS News’ “60 Minutes” in 2020. One photo shows the door of his cell marked off by yellow police tape, according to a CNN report.

The recently resurfaced photo drew attention for apparent inconsistencies — particularly the door, which does not appear to match the FBI-released footage.

A federal indictment revealed that weeks before his death, Epstein was found “on the floor of his cell with a strip of bedsheet around his neck,” according to CBS News.  (RELATED: After 4 Years In Charge, Top Congressional Democrats Suddenly Want Epstein Files Released By White House)

The government labeled the incident a failed suicide attempt, but Epstein asserted he was assaulted by his cellmate, former police officer Nick Tartaglione, according to the report.

Tartaglione denied the accusation, according to CBS News. His attorney insisted that “Absolutely nothing like that happened” and claimed jail officials cleared Tartaglione of any wrongdoing.

Several Reports Say Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino Threatening to Quit Over Epstein Issues and DOJ Response

Sundance

Julie Kelly is personally very close to Dan Bongino and a significant advocate for him. According to Julie Kelly and various other media sources, Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino is threatening to quit over issues surrounding how the DOJ has handled the Jeffrey Epstein information.

Julie Kelly writes,Sources confirm to me the blow up between Dan Bongino and Pam Bondi is very real. This has been brewing for four months and came to a head at the White House on Wednesday. He has not been in the office since. Most of the frustration at FBI relates to her handling of Epstein disclosures and disputes between FBI and Bondi about how to proceed. Bongino appears ready to resign imminently if Bondi remains in office.”

Axios, CNN and various other outlets have essentially confirmed the same story.

Mary Margaret Olohan from the Daily Wire writes, “Bongino in particular, one source said, is frustrated that the DOJ, at the start of this week, declared the Epstein case effectively closed and determined that the accused sex trafficker died by suicide while awaiting trial, with few further details shared. He wants more documents unsealed, the source added.”  Olohan also said, “Source close to Dan Bongino tells me it’s either him or Pam Bondi, and that he won’t stay at FBI if she stays at DOJ.

If this is all true is doesn’t bode well for Dan Bongino and he will likely be asked to depart from his position, if he has not already resigned.  This type of emotional response is considered a significant sign of instability amid executive level office holders.  The either/or threat never works at this level.

Apparently no one could see this coming.

  1. I’ve been told many times that there is no smoke without fire. The question always boils down to who is blowing the smoke? If any of the 3-letter folks like CIA, FBI and so on are doing it, you can be sure that a cover up is in progress. If it is the media, we need to check who’s blowing smoke in their direction. I keep hoping that DJT will grab the reigns of at least some of these organizations to weed out the smokers and get them to play 5D chess on his side rather than some other unknowns that are surely out there. That was the biggest hope when Bondi and Bongino and the other fresh faces at the top got started.

  2. This Epstein business stinks to high heaven, It always has, but it’s getting worse, not better. At this point Bondi is the one who should go, rather than Bongino, but if he is the one to go, I hope that he sings like a songbird, once he leaves.

I see only two possible reasons for protecting the Ep-files. First, and most obvious, they are shielding the perpetrators…a lot of them. They are almost certainly the most elite, influential, and powerful people in our country, if not the world. Secondly, the whole Epstein affair may very well have been a CIA operation. If something like that were uncovered, the full repercussions would be difficult to comprehend.

So, as unsatisfying and distasteful as it is, we can be sure that the DOJ, CIA, and all the rest, will never let this see the light of day, regardless of whose career might be sacrificed in the process. I would be sad to see Bongino go. He’s a good man. God knows, we need good people right now.

Or three, someone new has taken over the reigns of control of the Epstein blackmail list. While this is idle speculation, it is something to consider.

  3. The right-wing podcasters and social media accounts obsessing over this story are the same ones pushing antisemitism. Fucker, MTG, Bannon et al. We know why they are fixated on this particular story. If his name was Jeffery Edwards there would be zero interest. They have been pushing Israel/Mossad conspiracy theories over Epstein for years. Now that they’ve been humiliated over their position on Iran and marginalized themselves within the MAGA movement, it’s no coincidence that these Jew-hating “influencers” are ratcheting up the Epstein case again. Targeting Jews and fueling antisemitic conspiracy theories is what now consists of the bulk of their content and what they get paid by Qatar to do. Plus, their attacks on Trump over Iran probably lost them followers and subscribers who they need back. And this is red meat for MAGA. We here at Israpundit should not be fueling this. Leave Pam Bondi alone.

Plus they have more money than the left.

The Left had the largest budget of all, that of the US govt, including the black ops money going thru USAID to do whatever they wanted to do. While Carlson and Owens are being financed by whatever sources are funding them, I would argue that they do not have the means to match the funding which has been offered to the Left in the recent and likely distant past.

Sadly you have taken your eye off the ball here. There is one issue you’re ignoring…the phenomenal growth in Antisemitism. Who is to blame…the Antisemitism of course. But you may be playing into their hands. By not focusing on leadership. What do you think that is in the past 20 years

    • @Laura,

We here at Israpundit should not be fueling this. Leave Pam Bondi alone.

I disagree. It was Bondi who made the spectacle of the Epstein case months ago, while only releasing already released documents while manipulating a bunch of internet influencers to support the Trump administration for its efforts of transparency on this case. And after promising to “get to the bottom of things” (to use Lindsey Graham’s favorite distracting phrase), Bondi dismissed the case as if it was never worthy of concern or close inspection. Her heavy handed misjudgement of the American public’s reaction to her changed perspective on this case seriously damaged her credibility which was already damaged in the eyes of those who recall her role in the Treyvon Martin case, and her connections to Big Pharma and Qatar.

So while you perceive that we at Israpundit are fueling the Carlson quintet against Bondi, I would argue that Bondi failed the basic role of leadership, which is to carry the people with you when you try to lead, and this failure will likely seriously damaged Trump’s administration in the eyes of many who see the Epstein case as a litmus test for the administration’s abilty to deal honestly and transparently with the public. Should we try to ignore this fact, or characterize it as other than what it appears to be? That I would argue is not my role as Editor of this site. But perhaps you have a better argument to make based on the points I have raised here.
