In an interview with Mark Levin, Morton A. Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, discusses Zionism, the threat posed by Iran, and what he sees as rising antisemitism in media and politics.

Klein explains that Zionism is simply support for the right of the Jewish people to live in their historic homeland – in all of Israel, a right which  is grounded in Jewish history and recognized by international legitimacy including the United Nations. He argues that opposition to Israel’s existence—while claiming to support Jews—is inherently contradictory, and a reflection of antisemitism masked as legitimate criticism of – Israeli policies in total.

A central theme of the conversation is the perceived danger posed by the government of Iran. Iran’s leadership openly expresses hostility toward the United States and Western Civilization, and that such threats should be taken seriously, and in discussing this, Klein recalls the warning of Elie Wiesel – which declared intentions to destroy others must be believed. He also explains that Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, including the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles, represent a direct threat to the United States as well as Israel. For these reason, Klein fully supports the President Trump’ attempt to neutralize Iran, describing them as necessary steps to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and threatening global stability – via being able to send them anywhere.

Klein also argues that the ideological outlook of Iran’s ruling clerical regime encourages confrontation with non-Muslim States, and views global turmoil as religiously meaningful.  Klein maintains that the Iranian Regime cannot be trusted to abandon its ambitions of conquest, and explains that lasting security requires the eventual collapse of the current regime in Tehran – with replacement by a different government.

The interview also highlights Klein’s personal background as the child of survivors of The Holocaust, having been born in a Displaced Persons Camp in Germany, with his parents having survived Auschwitz, and his father having lost his entire family during the Holocaust.  He describes this history as a major motivation for his activism.

Finally, Klein criticizes contemporary media figures he believes amplify antisemitic narratives, specifically targeting Tucker Carlson. While acknowledging the principle of free speech, he argues that the public has a responsibility to condemn rhetoric that minimizes the Holocaust, or provides platforms to extremist viewpoints.
