Mark Levin: Shutdowns, Showdowns, Radicalism & Narco Terrorism

Saturday October 4 Mark Levin Show

Mark opens his Saturday show by detailing the many ways in which the Democratic party demonstrates its hatred for America.  It is from this perspective that the Democrats refused to allow a Continuing Resolution to be passed so that the budgeting process could conclude without shutting down the govt.  Mark indicates that the Democrats want to keep funding for free healthcare for illegal aliens while ignoring the growing debt in the US.  Interestingly, Mark charges that the Democrats are not playing to their radical base because the Democratic Party is the radical base within the Party.

Mark goes thru various govt programs which are left unaffected by the govt shutdown while also sharing the demands of massive spending being demanded by the Democrats to support the Continuing Resolution so as to avoid the shutdown.  Importantly, only the least essential, and least impacting elements of the US govt shuts down during a govt shutdown in any event, while it does impact those people involved in those sectors of the govt, it does not affect the vast majority of the govt.  So while the Democrats proceed with their campaign of fearmongering about the govt shutdown, the Republicans are investigating what areas of waste, fraud and abuse might be ended.  Notably, these political tactics are routinely used by both parties while out of power, but what makes the current attempts by the Democratic party even more unpleasant and obviously unnecessary is the demands being required by them to increase spending by $1.5 Trillion while holding firm to requiring hundreds of billions of dollars in spending on illegal immigrants.

In his second segment, Mark talks with Newt Gingrich about his experience as the opposition leader in the Congress back in 1996, during which time he shut down the govt twice.  Notably, his efforts were focused on issues which were supported by the American people, such as shrinking both spending and the size of govt, the exact reverse of what is being demanded today by the Democratic leadership.  According to research conducted by Gingrich, the American people do not want to increase spending nor to shutdown the govt, which again completely contrasts with the positions and actions being taken by the Democratic party.  Gringrich notes an important challenge for the Republicans.  He notes that the US govt has essentially entered into a partnership with the insurance companies, and while the Republicans are cutting spending, they need to find a way to do so without increasing the costs being paid by the American people as the partnership with the insurance companies are being re-evaluated.

In the third segment, Mark talks with Sen. Ted Cruz about the arguments between the Federalists and Anti Federalists regarding the importance of enumerated powers being the limit of the govt’s authority, and how far the modern govt has strayed from this principle.

Sunday October 5 Mark Levin Show

Mark Opens his Sunday show with discussing the threat posed by the convergence of terror organizations into the Western hemisphere in support of the narco terrorist already there.  Importantly, this references the connection which has been erected over decades between Middle Eastern terror groups, eg Hezbollah, Hamas, etc, with the terror groups supported by Nicholas Maduro of Venezuela.  Demonstrating the powers vested in the president to deal with such threats as these, Mark examines the war with the Barbary pirates under President Thomas Jefferson, and the powers which were employed by Jefferson while winning this war.  Mark also describes the relevance of the War Powers Act to support his recent actions to defend the Monroe Doctrine in its war against the drug cartels in the Western hemisphere.

In his second segment, Mark talks with Mark Penn, a former adviser to Bill Clinton.  Penn notes that until the primary process being used in the Democratic Party, ie Rank Choice Voting, nothing will save the Democrats from the consequences of their own skullduggery, as it pushes radicals who do not represent the American people in any way, such as AOC, towards victory with only a marginal support of the initial vote.

In his third segment, Mark talks with Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana about his book and his fight against the swamp which has infested Washington’s establishment.  Listening to Kennedy, one of the great American communicators of our age, is always a treat as he insists that America can be saved, but only if what is broken in the Washington is reformed.  Explaining that the radicals are in charge of the Democratic party, he notes that Shumer and Jeffries don’t control what the Democratic agenda will be from day to day.
