Peloni & David Fieldstone
Mark opens his Saturday, February 14 show: opining that the US Democratic Party is engaging in the greatest one-party power grab in US history. Explaining that Democrats are attempting to establish permanent political control at both the state and national levels, he highlights the efforts of States such as California, New York, and Illinois – to erect a one-party dominance in these respective States – which they hope to replicate on a nationwide basis.
Mark draws particular attention the issue of voter ID laws: as he demonstrates the absurdity of the claim that voter ID requirements are discriminatory, or in any way comparable to Jim Crow tactics, recalling that the verification of a person’s identity is a rather routinely and mundane experience required for numerous daily activities, from air travel to banking. Mark also cites polling data which demonstrates broad public support for voter ID: and contends that opposition to such laws is motivated by a desire to enable voter fraud. He also argues that most developed nations require some form of voter identification, and frames Democratic resistance as evidence of partisan self-interest – rather than any concern for lawful civil rights.
Mark next returns to the topic of immigration policy as a further demonstration of Democrats prioritizing power over constitutionality, and accepted legacy norms. Having intentionally opened the southern border, and having allowed millions of undocumented immigrants to enter, the Democrats hoped to reshape the electorate, as was demonstrated in the recent NYC mayoral race. He also reminds us of the effort to weaken and/or dismantle Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through proposed restrictions that would render deportations of illegal aliens nearly impossible. Listing leftist tactics such as requiring judicial warrants for certain enforcement actions, limiting operations near sensitive locations, expanding oversight by local authorities, and increasing legal access for detainees, Mark demonstrates the broad means by which the Democrats have been pursuing – so as to raise substantive barriers to prevent deportations.
Beyond domestic policy, Mark further challenges that elements within the Democratic Party are aligned with or influenced by radical leftist and foreign actors. Referring to reporting by the Network Contagion Research Institute and coverage by Fox News, he links activist groups in the United States with foreign governments such as Venezuela, China, Cuba, and Qatar. He also notes that that these connections are not unrelated to the coordinated protests movement raised against immigration enforcement, and the broader efforts designed to undermine federal authority in the USA.
In his second segment: Mark interviews Newt Gingrich on the topic of Iran. Gingrich criticized U.S. negotiations with Iran, noting that the current regime in Tehran is a terrorist regime which maintains its hold on power through the use of violence and coercion. He expresses skepticism about providing any legitimacy to a government which openly and unabashedly chants “death to America”. Instead, Gingrich argues that such negotiations echo past failures with North Korea, where attempts to engage only led to greater military threats. He emphasized the need for preemptive action, comparing Iran’s potential nuclear capabilities to a “rattlesnake” that demands immediate attention. Gingrich also calls for US support to empower the Iranian populace against the ruling regime, proposing targeted airstrikes against the Iranian Republican Guard which could be useful in facilitating regime change. He draws parallels to Winston Churchill’s warnings about underestimating threats, stressing that decisive action now could prevent larger conflicts in the future. He calls for US military readiness and strategic intervention as essential steps by which to safeguard American interests, while supporting the Iranian people’s pursuit of freedom.
In his final segment: Mark talks with Congressman Jason Smith, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Their informative discussion centers on the influence of foreign governments and radical left-wing groups on American society – as Rep. Smith reveals ongoing investigations into non-profit organizations, some of which are funded by foreign entities which instigate violence and unrest. Jason Smith emphasizes the need to restrict foreign funding and protect U.S. values, citing political agendas that aim to undermine lawful immigration laws, and lawful citizenship. Calling for increased transparency and accountability regarding foreign financial contributions to political campaigns, Jason Smith highlights that this issue is a critical national security matter which should transcend any party lines.
