A new sheriff is in town. President Trump issues an Executive Order directing the designation of the Muslim Brotherhood and several of its branches in Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists.
The Order states that the group’s activities in Jordan after October 7 are tied to its support for Hamas.
The Order also requires the Departments of State and Treasury to submit reports within 30 days in preparation for actions against the organization.
President Trump issues an executive order directing the classification of the Muslim Brotherhood group and some of its branches in Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt as foreign terrorist organizations and as included in global terrorism designations.
The decision confirmed that the group’s activities in Jordan and its arms after October 7 are linked to its support for the Hamas movement.
Trump’s decision obliges the State Department and the Treasury Department to submit reports within 30 days in preparation for taking measures against the group.
