Bibi Netanyahu remains one of the finest leaders not just in Israeli history but in world history in living memory.
Has his work as PM been perfect? No. Has his work in international negotiations been perfect? Likewise no again.
But he comes across as honest, he is consistently a strong supporter of the United States regardless of leader. He has been like a man whose internal structure is as strong as steel, and this has enabled him to function under intense stress that might cause another man to crumple. The sheer number of decisions he must make every day is an example of his combination of political and emotional flexibility and strength.
I know he does not make everyone in Israel happy. I know there is intense opposition to him in Israel, but I don’t think it is a majority or even plurality of the people in Israel. After the war Israelis may want to turn to another, if so, so be it. He may need the break at that point and so might Israelis.
But he continues to impress me with an overview of all situations that come before him so that little, at this point, would surprise him. That’s what experience brings. He’s been a warrior for Israel for a long time, both in office and outside of the PM’s office. He has represented the best of Israel: the enterprising, boundless energy of Israel’s cities, and the intense, rooted, love of family members for each other which is the heart of Israeli life.
Thank you for including this great interview!
Thanks for posting this wonderful video of these 2 incredible people. One is a bona fide war hero who took a bullet for his country and devotes his life for his country while our small Jewish state continues to face existential threat time and again. Did I mention that he has great insights and instincts and that he is a brilliant engineer and THE best spoken state leader on the planet today.
The other is possibly the best spoken female journalist with an incredible sense of moral clarity that is so absent from the rest of the folks in her field. Oh yah, she happens to be incredibly beautiful and so pro-Israel despite being a an Australian Gentile. She asked all the important questions in a most respectful way. Bibi should have offered her a job (forget the vile BBC).
The definitive work regarding US military investments in Israel remains to be “End US Aid To Israel” by Jacob Siegel and Liel Leibovitz

It is a lengthy but still fully relevant article today, more than 3yrs later.
