@ Edgar G.: Thanks, Edgar. I am very happy that you have found a new home. I hope that you are comfortable and happy there.
I read the Vancouver is a wonderful town, perhaps the best in North America. I hope to be able to visit it someday, and if I ever do, I will certainly wish to drop in on you.
Thank you indeed Adam. It’s just the sort of spontaneous, generous offer-from-the heart I expected from you.
But…alas…. i live as far away from you as is possible and still be on this land mass. That is Vancouver Island. Anyway just last evening….after more than 2 years sporadic searching.. by a marvellous stroke of fortune and a higher price range, my daughter managed to find and nail down, a suitable top floor (no noises overhead T.G.) apartment near her own small home, not even yet advertised …being under renovations.
After the Conservative shellacking in yesterday’s local elections, Antisemite Jeremy Corbyn appears poised to become the next UK Prime Minister.
@ Edgar G.: I’m terribly, truly sorry to hear of your tsuris, Edgar. I would like to help if I can.
I am a U.S. citizen who lives in New York State. If you are also an American citizen and live in New York State, New Jersey or Pennsylvania, I may be able to help some. I can’t loan you money because I am pretty much broke myself. But I can send you a list of numerous senior apartment complexes, including the one I am living in now, that are reaonably priced, in my area of New York and in Eastern Pennylvania and northeastern New Jersey. If you are a U.S. citizen and resident of one of these three states, and have a very modest income, you should be eligible, as I am.
If you don’t live too far from me (I live in the Mid-Delaware Valley) I might be able to drive to your place and help with the packing and moving. I can’t lift very heavy weights, but might be able to help pack up small stuff, help with a little clean-up and put some stuff in my trunk to take to your new place. An extra hand can help in these situations.
I have had to move twice, in 2014 and 2016, in similar circumstances.
If you think I might be able to help, please contact me at adamdalgliesh@yahoo.com. Once you do, I will give you my real name, address and phone number. I prefer to maintain my anonymity on this site.
Not back yet Adam. I’ve lost my rented apartment and have had a daughter in a different area “looking” for me. There is less than 1% vacancy rate and each vacant- apt. has a queue of” about 100 takers many sight unseen. (the way my apartment was sold from under me).
I also have to face the tzoras of packing up after a many-years occupancy….
So I’ll be off the site for a while except to “put you out of your misery”… If it hadn’t been you I wouldn’t have bothered.
Not to mention my computer switches itself off about 120 times a day “right in the middle of the most important thing I ever wrote or read” (naturally)……. Either cord or off-on switch….? But can’t bother with it right now, and it’s too new to throw away..
I’m very surprised that this could be written without interruption…VERY….!
@ Edgar G.: Thanks for reminding me of his name, Edgar. Its great to see you back among our commenters.

I can’t remember this guy’s name, but he’s great
Spot on, Pat.
My Brexit essay confirms these sentiments.
