Williams College Pro-Israel Group Denied Recognition

T. Belman. This is what we are up against, lies, lies and more lies.  The exclusion policy was justified because “the pro-Israel lobby in the United States is both extremely well funded and politically influential. Thus, both practically and discursively, the state of Israel does not need a student group defending its ‘right to exist’ on this campus any more than we need to ‘defend’ the rights of wealthy, straight white men.” Talk about a bias. It’s not a matter of their need so much as it is a matter of our freedom of speech.  They are not the gate-keeper.

BY Aaron Bandler, JEWISH JOURNAL

A pro-Israel student group at Williams College, the private liberal arts college in Williamstown, MA, will not be recognized as a student club on campus.

In an April 23 meeting the Williams College Council voted 13-8 with one abstention against the Williams Initiative for Israel (WIFI), denying the group the required Registered Student Organization (RSO).

According to the college’s website, student groups are “not allowed to meet under the College name or receive/use College funding or resources” until they receive RSO status.

Liberal Media: Antisemitism’s sugar daddy.

By Valerie Sobel

(On the heels of a Monday night protest in front of The New York Times headquarters in Manhattan, protesting NYT’s promotion of insidious antisemitism in a form of a cartoon.)

Liberal media’s Jew-hatred, blatant or obscured, occupies predominant lobe space in both the conscious and subconscious psyche of the general public. This is a result of systematic education of the populace: sometimes in the form of overtly racist hate-filled cartoons (New York Times’ April 25th, International edition), sometimes in the form of demonization of the only Jewish State on earth when it dares to defend itself.

More often, the unconscious bias training is in the form of slanderous loathing of PM Bibi Netanyahu, guising itself under “fair criticism” and “balanced reporting”. More often than that, front page news coverage affectionately calls Hamas militants strapped with explosives on Israeli borders…”protesters” or even “Palestinian civilians”. Just look up any past Israeli-Palestinian conflict reportage by BBC or The Guardian in any given year. The guys with masked faces and grenade belts are the oppressed, protesting civilians denied all human rights, while guys that shoot tear gas in the air to defend their borders and prevent deaths of the guys with grenades are the murderous aggressor-occupiers. If that’s not systematic distortion of truth to create antisemitic context, then nothing is.

Kushner tight-lipped on Trump Middle East peace plan

Senior U.S. adviser acknowledges it might not be “smart money bet” to gamble on success of White House’s long-awaited blueprint for Middle East peace but insists it is a very detailed, fresh approach that hopefully will stimulate discussion and lead to breakthroughs in resolving decades-old conflict.

Kushner tight-lipped on Trump Middle East peace plan

U.S. President Donald Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law acknowledged Thursday that it might not be a “smart money bet” to gamble on the success of the White House’s long-awaited blueprint for Middle East peace. But he insisted that it is a very detailed, fresh approach that hopefully will stimulate discussion and lead to breakthroughs in resolving the decades-old conflict.

Jared Kushner remained tight-lipped about the guts of the plan. He described it as an “in-depth operational document” not anchored to previous, failed negotiations, high-level political concepts or stale arguments. Read more…

Let millenials lead the war on Antisemitism

An incredible 66% of American young adults have no knowledge of Auschwitz whatsoever. A rallying and defiant call to millennials around the world to commemorate the Holocaust and help put an end to Antisemitism.

By Dr. Shmuel Rosenman, INN

With each passing year, the Holocaust is becoming less familiar and less relevant to youth around the world.  To some, it’s a confusing collection of dreadful details, one of many horrific periods in human history.  To so many others, it is – sadly – completely devoid of meaning.

In recent weeks, the Claims Conference released data indicating that one third of Americans believe that only 2 million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust, a far cry from the actual figure of 6 million who were slaughtered by the Nazis and their collaborators.  Additionally, more than 45% of the survey respondents were unable to name even one of the 40 Eastern European ghettos and concentration camps established by the Nazis during the Second World War.  Among millennials, that number increases dramatically, with an incredible 66% of American young adults having no knowledge of Auschwitz whatsoever.

What this means is that for every passionate student of history who is carrying the torch of Holocaust memory, there are two for whom the Holocaust means nothing at all.

Why Does Islamist Anti-Semitism Receive a Pass?

By Hesham Shehab, AMERICAN THINKER

In the wake of the shooting at the San Diego-area synagogue in California on Saturday, April 27 that left one worshiper dead and two wounded, and the ongoing outcry against an Anti-Semitic cartoon published in the New York Times, we are reminded that anti-Semitism exists on all sides of the political spectrum, and can yield deadly results.

While these acts of anti-Semitism are rightfully publicly decried, and the organizations that traffic in them condemned, much of the growing tide of anti-Semitism in the West has a basis in Islamist anti-Semitism, promoted by hate preachers utilizing the West’s famous tolerance to promote vile conspiracy theories against the Jews.

Instagram Story Aims to Engage New Generation with Holocaust

BREITBART

JERUSALEM (AP) — For seven decades, survivor testimony has been the centerpiece of Holocaust commemoration.

The file picture taken just after the liberation by the Soviet army in January, 1945 shows a group of children wearing concentration camp uniforms including Martha Weiss who was ten years-old, 6th from right, at the time behind barbed wire fencing in the Oswiecim (Auschwitz) Nazi concentration camp. The German â?¦

But with the world’s community of aging survivors rapidly shrinking and global understanding of the genocide that killed 6 million Jews declining, advocates of Holocaust remembrance are seeking new and creative ways to share witnesses’ stories with younger generations.

Much as Anne Frank’s diary gripped the older generations, an Instagram account based on a true 13-year-old Jewish victim’s journal, called Eva.Stories, is generating buzz among the young.

Muslim Brotherhood Operates to Establish Global Caliphate

By Edwin Morris, BREITBART

There is significant Islamist ideological overlap between the worldwide Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and some of the globe’s most murderous jihadi groups — the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) and al-Qaeda, Breitbart News learned from the Counter Extremism Project (CEP).

All three groups maintain a shared goal of establishing an Islamic global caliphate. However, MB has the advantage of being “one of the oldest and broadest-reaching Islamist organizations in modern times,” the non-governmental organization (NGO) noted in its Muslim Brotherhood profile, citing data from various governments and news reports.

Why was Netanyahu Elected to an Unprecedented Fifth Term in Israel?

An Interview with Mordechai Nisan

by Jerry Gordon and Rod Reuven Dovid Bryant (May 2019)

Israeli Supporters of PM Netanyahu at Likud Party Headquarters, Tel Aviv, April 9, 2019 (Reuters)

The April 9, 2019 Knesset election results granted long term Israeli Likud Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an unprecedented fifth term. His election was backed by a mandate of 65 seats held by a mix of right-wing nationalist and religious parties. The race pitted him against a center-left Blue – White Alliance headed by former IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz, a former Netanyahu Minister of Defense Moshe Ya’alon and secularist Yair Lapid of the Yesh Atid party. 39 parties competed for 120 Knesset seats. The actual vote tally between the Blue – White alliance and Likud was one vote, in favor of Netanyahu; 36 to 35. Netanyahu faces the daunting task of assembling a ruling coalition. Then there is the looming matter of outstanding indictments brought against him on bribery and fraud charges by his appointed Attorney General Yishai Mandeblit following Israeli Police investigations

Jew Hatred Goes Mainstream

by Steve Kramer

“The term anti-Semitism was coined in 1879 by the German agitator [and Jew hater] Wilhelm Marr to designate the anti-Jewish campaigns under way in central Europe at that time. Although the term now has wide currency, it is a misnomer, since it implies a discrimination against all Semites. Arabs and other peoples are also Semites, and yet they are not the targets of anti-Semitism as it is usually understood.” britannica.com

There’s anti-Semitism, antisemitism, and Jew hatred – whatever you call it, it’s increasing every day and is now taken for granted by many. I’m beginning to use the expression “Jew hatred” for a few reasons, including its more crude but descriptive flavor.

INTO THE FRAY: Let the PA collapse

By MARTIN SHERMAN

Despite possible short term difficulties, Israel should seize on the impending collapse of the Palestinian Authority as an opportunity to extricate itself from the deadly cul-de-sac, into which the Oslo process has lured it

It is all or nothing. We will not take any money if they do not give all of it—even if it means the collapse of the Palestinian Authority and an unequivocal declaration that the Oslo Accords are dead.Ashraf al-Ajami, former Palestinian Authority (PA) minister for Prisoners Affairs, on Israel’s decision to deduct the sums paid to convicted terrorists and/or their families from the tax revenue that Israel collects for the PA, Galei Israel, April 19, 2019.

If the existential goal of the PA—according Ashraf Ajami as well as according to Abu Mazen—is to persist in paying salaries to terrorists, because if it does not pay salaries to terrorists, it breaks up, then perhaps we need to ask what we signed the Oslo Agreement for, if all we did was establish an Authority whose function is to promote terror –Brig-Gen. (res) Yossi Kuperwasser, former Director-General of the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, Galei Israel, April 19, 2019. Read more…

Two-state solution: U.S. Jews won’t budge. Will it cost them their relationship with Israel?

By Allison Kaplan Sommer, HAARETZ

Supporting two states was not always a given for American Jews. But once it became the preferred solution, while Israelis grew increasingly skeptical, it drove the two biggest Jewish communities in the world apart
A Jewish protester demonstrating against the occupation.

When it comes to the two-state solution and the American Jewish community, the old joke about “two Jews, three synagogues” simply doesn’t apply.

The alphabet soup of organizations comprising the so-called American Jewish establishment – from the muscular pro-Israel AIPAC to the “pro-Israel, pro-peace” J Street, through the Anti-Defamation League, American Jewish Committee, the policy arms of the Reform and Conservative movements, the Jewish Federations of North America and the rest – are all in lockstep agreement that a two-state solution is a declared goal to securing a Jewish and democratic state.

Cartoons, “criticism of Israel,” and Jew-hatred

By Victor Rosenthal

The publication in the International Edition of the New York Times of a classically antisemitic cartoon ignited a firestorm of criticism (see also here) against the paper. The ADL, American Jewish Committee, Israeli Ambassador to the US, US Ambassador to Germany, Israeli Foreign Ministry, Mike Pence, and President Donald Trump joined in. Even Rabbi Rick Jacobs of the Union for Reform Judaism, whom I suspect rarely met an anti-Israel article in the Times that he didn’t like, criticized the Times on the URJ’s Facebook page (although at this writing, J Street has had no comment).

The cartoon is an example of a genre going back at as far as the Middle Ages, through the Dreyfus affair and Nazi period, and common today. Ask the Internet. Ugly, hook-nosed Jews look back at you, grinning as they drain blood from their victims, ravish blonde women, hoard gold coins, entrap the world in octopus tentacles or spider webs, enslave world leaders, exploit the poor, and – more recently – dress in Nazi uniforms and eat Palestinian children.

The Democrat Party Is Dead

By Will Alexander, TownHall.com

The Democrat Party is so unrecognizable today because it’s gone.  The name is still there.  Some of the old faces are there.  But the party of John Kennedy, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Barbara Jordan and Zell Miller is dead.

Today’s Democrat Party is hollowed out by a chronic addiction to hyper-partisan controversies that mimic the feeling of being alive. Controversy gives Dems a constant drip of political dopamine they could never find in solving real problems. And they’re hooked now.

So, we’re witnessing a case of shared psychotic disorder that’s driving the party to self-medicate. Drug of choice? Donald Trump. Democrats are so impaired by their craving to “get Trump” that they imbibe day-in and day-out despite the deadly consequences to their party and to the country.

EU accepts Israeli request to aid PA

T. Belman. What, if anything, did Israel promise them?

EU foreign policy chief says EU will provide €22 million in humanitarian assistance to PA.

By Nitsan Keidar, INN

The European Union’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini criticized Israel on Tuesday as she participated in a conference in Brussels of the International Donor Group for Palestine.

25 years after the Oslo Accords, said Mogherini, “the very possibility of two states is being dismantled. Settlement expansion continues while international mechanisms that protect the Palestinians in occupied territory are forcefully removed. Ongoing Palestinian divisions continue to harm Palestinian unity and democracy. The political dialogue between the two parties is simply non-existent at the moment, while in both societies, both in Palestine and in Israel, we see that the space for faith in the possibility of peace and security and a two-state solution is shrinking.”

The forgotten death march of Chelm

The story of how the Nazis rounded up the Jewish men and boys of Chelm, Poland, and marched them miles in the dead of winter, only to shoot most of them, has been lost. The descendants of the few survivors have made it the mission to make sure that people know what happened.

by  Hanan Greenwood, ISRAEL HAYOM

The forgotten death march of Chelm

The Nazis shot the strongest men and community leaders who survived the first part of the march

On Dec. 1, 1939, thousands of Jews were led out of the Polish town of Chelm in what would become the first death march of the Holocaust, and which has been almost totally forgotten.

Most researchers have not defined the Chelm event as a “death march” because people generally think of the death marches as having taken place toward the end of the war, out of the major concentration camps. The Chelm march was a sort of trial by the Nazis to test – among other things – whether the mass murder of Jews would be acceptable to the local population and international opinion.

FLEISHER: The Clash Of American Liberal Jewry And Israeli Nationalism

By Yishai Fleisher, WIRE

The recent landslide election of Benjamin Netanyahu and the ascendancy of the Israeli Right has deepened the rift between Israeli and American Jews — the latter of whom disproportionately identify with the political Left.

Days after the Israeli election, nine leading American liberal Jewish groups sent a letter to the American president they hate so much and worked so hard to prevent his becoming a president. In it, they urged Trump to preserve the “two-state solution” in the face of a pledge by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to annex the so-called “West Bank” territory, also known as Judea and Samaria.

Four ostensibly pro-Israel Jewish Democrats — Reps. Eliot Engel and Nita Lowey of New York, Ted Deutch of Florida, and Brad Schneider of Illinois — released a similar letter warning Israel not to annex parts of Judea and Samaria because, yet again, such a move would endanger the two-state solution.

Saudi Arabia offered Abbas $10 B to accept Trump’s peace plan (alledgedly)

T. Belman. Two reports are referred to in this article and they are in conflict with each other. Which to believe? Neither. While each contains a bit of truth they are far from the whole truth. But this is true “what’s left of the West Bank will become cantons under Jordan’s administrative rule and Israel’s security control” This is what I have been reporting all along.

A senior Palestinian official in Ramallah refused to comment on the report.

By Khaled Abu Toameh, JPOST

Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud walks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has offered Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas $10 billion if he accepts US President Donald Trump’s plan for peace in the Middle East, also known as the “deal of the century,” the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported on Tuesday.

A senior Palestinian official in Ramallah refused to comment on the report.

Referring to meetings between the Saudi crown prince and Abbas, the newspaper said that “according to information obtained by Al-Akhbar, Salman briefed Abbas about the details of the deal of the century and asked him to accept it. According to the information, Salman asked Abbas: What is the annual budget of your entourage? Abbas replied: I’m not a prince to have my own entourage.”

US to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization

T. Belman. I have been expecting this because when Mudar Zahran will take over Jordan one of the first things he will do is bann the Muslim Brotherhood who have their headquaters in Jordan. Egypt, Saudi Arabia and UAE have all banned them also. The US is now just catching up.

Trump administration planning to designate Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization.

By Elad Benari,, INN

The Trump administration is planning to designate the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization, an effort that is “working its way through the internal process,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Tuesday, according to CNN.

Sanders was responding to a New York Timesreport which cited officials familiar with the matter and which said the administration was working to make the designation. The move would impose “wide-ranging economic and travel sanctions” on entities that do business with the group.

The Times said that following a White House visit earlier this month by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, the administration “directed national security and diplomatic officials to find a way to place sanctions on the group.”
