Black Intellectuals Embrace Anti-Semitism

A Worrying trend is emerging

By Rafael Medoff, AMI MAG

Many Jewish organizations and news media outlets have been focused on the activities of anti-Semitic white supremacists, and some pundits even have accused President Donald Trump of encouraging such bigots. But in recent months, the most significant anti-Semitism in America actually has been emanating from a very different source: African-American intellectuals.

A number of America’s most prominent black thinkers, writers, and political activists are blaming Jews for the slave trade and climate change, accusing liberal Jewish organizations of being secretly racist, and publicly praising notorious anti-Semites such as the Rev. Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam movement.

Of Arabism, Zionism, and Journeys…

by Gerald A. Honigman

Recently, Caroline Glick, a much-admired analyst for those who desire a fair shake for all the various peoples in the age of nationalism in the Middle East and adjacent lands–i.e., Arabs, but also scores of millions of non-Arabs as well (an idea rejected by most of the former, who claim the region to be primarily “purely Arab patrimony”)–declared that she would soon enter the political scene…the next step on her Zionist journeyhttps://www.algemeiner.com/2019/01/03/political-pundit-caroline-glick-joins-new-right-party/.

The above parenthetical thought–describing the prevalent, millennial Arab mindset, summarizes the Arab-Israeli conflict in a nutshell–but also, together with the associated mandatory dominance of the religio-political modus operandi of the Dar ul-Islam over the Dar al-Harb–also is the source of the Arab-Kurd, Arab-Amazigh/Kabyle/”Berber,” Arab-Copt, Arab-black African, Arab-Semitic (but pre-Arab) Lebanese and Assyrian, and other conflicts in the region as well.

Work permits in Israel for Palestinians is not the way to go.

By Ted Belman

Dr. Aaron Lerner argues Work Permits For All Palestinians In Judea and Samaria A Win-Win in his weekly commentary in IMRA.

Perhaps, but not now.

I fully expect Mudar Zahran to become the ruler of Jordan in the not distant future. He will give all Palestinians Jordanian citizenship and will rename Jordan, Palestine. He will also open the door for all Palestinians in the West Bank to emigrate to Jordan.

Israel should focus on creating jobs in Jordan so that many Palestinians will be induced to go there to work.

Graham Calls on Trump to Bypass Congress, Fund Wall Through ‘Emergency Powers’

January 10, 2019

Sen. Lindsey Graham on Capitol Hill (Jonathan Ernst/Reuters)

Senator Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) called on President Trump Thursday to bypass Congress and unilaterally fund the construction of a border wall by declaring a national emergency.

Graham, who has led Republicans in negotiations to end the ongoing 20-day government shutdown, told CNN Thursday evening that he has “never been more depressed about moving forward than right now” and predicted the current stalemate would last for days.

INTO THE FRAY: Will the “New Right” get it right?

By MARTIN SHERMAN

If the “New Right” is to really advance “Right wing” causes, it must abandon schemes that lead to the Lebanonization or Balkanization of Israeli society & work towards legitimizing the idea of incentivized emigration of the Arab population of Judea-Samaria

The road to hell is paved with good intentions – An aphorism thought to have originated with Saint Bernard of Clairvaux (c. 1150)

Last week, Education Minister, Naftali Bennett, and Justice Minister, Ayalet Shaked, dropped a political bombshell when they announced that they were breaking away from their current party, “Jewish Home”—which, in large measure, owed its existence to them—and were setting up a new party, with the (somewhat bland) name of the “New Right”.

Silent Ben and Pragmatic Bibi

By Victor Rosenthal

Benny Gantz wants to negotiate a two-state solution with the PLO and divide Jerusalem. No, wait, he wants to annex Area C and offer the Palestinians autonomy in less-than-a-state enclaves. Who knows? Nobody, because Gantz won’t say. But more important, nobody seems to care what Silent Ben’s actual positions on anything are. A recent poll shows that in a contest between Gantz and PM Netanyahu, Gantz came in a close second with 38% of respondents favoring him to Netanyahu’s 41%. Apparently, Gantz’s experience as a former IDF Chief of Staff plus his prime ministerial appearance is enough to make him a viable alternative to Netanyahu, who is certainly one of the most successful Israeli prime ministers in history.

The Company Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib Keeps

By Alex VanNess, THE CLARION PROJECT | January 10, 2019

Rashida Tlaib’s first day in Congress was one that made some waves. One wave which is getting the bulk of media attention is she shouted “We’re going to impeach the motherf**ker,” at a private event the evening after she was sworn into office.

Her comment, while classless, is not deserving of the media attention it received.  While outrage rose over this non-issue, a serious issue has been ignored.

The issue is that of the people with whom she is surrounding herself.  On the day Tlaib was sworn in, several of her friends and closes supporters came to Capitol Hill to celebrate with Tlaib.  Most of them have long histories of antisemitism which are far more concerning than a swear word.

These guests include:

How Israel swims against tide of worldwide water crisis

A visit to the country’s largest desalination and wastewater-treatment plants reveals smart technologies and policies to keep the water running

By Abigail Klein Leichman, ISRAEL 21c  JANUARY 6, 2019,

Israel has solved its water crisis! That’s a typical headline about Israel’s world-leading smart water management and advanced water technology.

As I sipped freshly desalinated Mediterranean water at the world’s largest seawater desalination plant, the brilliance of Israel’s many-pronged approach was as clear as the H2O in my paper cup.

But if residents, farmers and tourists in the Holy Land never worry about the tap running dry, that’s only because Israel invests huge amounts of money and brainpower to stay one step ahead of a worsening worldwide water crisis.

Secretary Pompeo, welcome to the real Middle East!

Ambassador (ret.) Yoram Ettinger, “Second Thought: a US-Israel Initiative”

Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, is well aware that the Department of State’s conventional wisdom on the Middle East has clashed frequently with its arch adversary: Middle East reality.

For example, in defiance of conventional wisdom, Secretary of State Pompeo is in the Middle East at a time when Israel’s security and commercial ties with pro-US Arab countries have expanded unprecedentedly, irrespective of the Palestinian issue.

Moreover, Secretary Pompeo is visiting Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar while more-than-ever prominent individuals and delegations from pro-US Arab countries visit Israel, advancing mutually-beneficial goals in the areas of counter-terrorism, military, agriculture, irrigation, medicine, health, commerce and industry, independent of the Palestinian issue.

How to double the aliyah rate to Israel

Aliyah has always been the lifeblood of the nation, so it is essential that steps be taken to significantly boost the rate of immigration, as this will ensure that the country continues to prosper.

By Michael Freund, JPOST

Fundamentally Freund: How to double the aliyah rate to Israel

At first glance, the statistics published last week by the Jewish Agency regarding the number of people who immigrated to Israel in 2018 would appear to be quite encouraging, ostensibly providing some welcome good news.

According to the data, immigration rose by 5% over the previous year, from 28,220 arrivals in 2017 to 29,600 last year. In addition, the number of newcomers from Russia soared by 45%, while the tally of those making the journey from Argentina increased by a healthy 17%.

It is, of course, tempting to sit back, look at these figures and relish the idea that Israel continues to serve as a magnet for Jews worldwide.

No, they were not all Charlie

By Giulio Meotti, INN

The threat to freedom of speech now emanates not only from the jihadists, but from within the democracies themselves.

“Everything has become blasphemous”, writes Riss, director of Charlie Hebdo, in the latest issue of the weekly issue that comes out on the anniversary of the massacre of his colleagues by two Islamists, the Kouachi brothers. Four years later, it is the same idea of ??freedom of expression that has become blasphemous in the West.

The Golan Heights mean more than security for Israel

Not just for Israeli security, but for Biblical and Ancestral Jewish Sovereignty, the Golan Heights must be recognized as Israeli territory by the US.

By Victor Sharpe, INN

On Sunday, January 5th, 2019, Israeli Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, requested visiting U.S. National Security Advisor, John Bolton, to seek Washington’s long delayed recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights. In doing so Netanyahu stressed the vital security importance of the Heights. He told Bolton that, “When you are there, you’ll be able to understand perfectly why we will never leave the Golan Heights and why it is important that all countries recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.”

Indeed, those of us who have stood on the Golan’s 1,700 foot steep escarpment, are struck by its immense strategic value overlooking Israel’s fertile Hula Valley and the beautiful harp shaped lake below, called in Hebrew, Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee) because of its unique shape.

Sharia Law Political Party Must Not Be Allowed

By Jeff Goodall, CFP

The Islamic Party of Ontario (IPO) has officially reserved its name with Elections Ontario, and is part-way along the path towards becoming an official party.

According to their website, the soon-to-be party will be guided in its policy formation by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which starts with, ‘Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law” – and we are further informed that “The Islamic Party of Ontario believes in ‘Supremacy of God’ and understands that it is our constitutional requirement to make all the rule of laws of Provinces and Federal in obedience and according to the will of God.”

That might sound harmless enough, but they are not referring to “our” God, they are referring to “their” God – and there is an immense difference between the two.

The American ‘Zionist’ assault on Israel

T. Belman.  If Jews don’t support Israel as the state of the Jews, they are not Zionists. Israel exists for the Jews and not for the Palestinians. The progressives favour progressive Democracy at the expense of  the advancement of Israel as the state of the Jews.

Less hubris and more interest in why Israelis think what they do would go a long way to helping this relationship survive

By Daniel Gordis, TOI

“American Jews and Israeli Jews Are Headed for a Messy Breakup,” a column by Jonathan Weisman announced in the New York Times earlier this week. He’s probably right. But only “probably.” The relationship does not have to crash, if both sides can acknowledge the profound ways in which the world’s two largest Jewish communities are profoundly different, and cease imposing their own worldview on the other.

To heal this rift, both sides are going to need to accept that we are invariably going to continue disappointing each other, because American Judaism and Israeli Judaism are, by this point, very different animals. As I describe in my forthcoming book, We Stand Divided: Competing Visions of Jewishness and the Rift Between American Jews and Israel, they now rest on almost entirely different foundations. One is universal and one particular, one focuses on Judaism as religion while the other sees Judaism as nationality, one largely exempt from the messiness of history, while the other is the product of a movement that expressly sought to restore the Jews as players into the complexities (and ugliness) of history.

Islam’s Conquest Of America Through Creeping Sharia

By Kelleigh Nelson, NEWS WITH VIEWS

Sharia law is a political system that is authoritarian, violent and supremacist at its core.  Sharia contains regulations that mandate death for those who exercise their freedom of conscience and want to leave Islam, for those who are deemed to have blasphemed against Islam by insulting Allah or the Quran or the prophet or by even speaking honestly about their contents in ways that Muslims object to. — Robert Spencer

When our elected officials decide to make new laws, they should have in mind our national interests first.  They should realize that foreign laws such as sharia will never be compatible with our Constitution or our way of life. — Amil Imani

Sharia is far more than a legal system of laws. It includes theology, law, philosophy, religious rituals and morals. The Sharia claims to be Allah’s law and must replace all other forms of government. —Dr. Bill Warner

Trump’s Deal of the Century: Will We See Peace Between Israel and the Arabs?

By Howard Rotberg, THE JEWISH VOICE

US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman said on Sunday that although the Trump administration’s long-anticipated Middle East peace plan is “pretty much completed,” the release of the proposal will be delayed by several months.

Friedman told reporters that Israel’s April elections “are a factor, but not the only factor” in the postponement. Trump wants to release the plan “in a way that gives it the best chance of getting a good reception.

“The challenge to a peace plan” said Friedman, “is making the case for a much more sober assessment of the realities in this region.”
