Israel says Mossad tipped off Danes to alleged Iranian assassination plot

Copenhagen recalled its ambassador to Tehran after Israel alerted it to a plan to kill Iranian opposition figures in the Scandinavian country, officials say

By JUDAH ARI GROSS, TOI

The Mossad intelligence service provided its Danish counterpart with information concerning an alleged plot by Tehran to assassinate three Iranian opposition figures living in the Scandinavian country, Israeli officials said Wednesday.

The information about Israel’s involvement in the thwarting of the plot was first released to a small number of journalists by a “senior official,” but was later confirmed by others.

Massive European study finds large gap in East, West acceptance of Jews

T. Belman. Very distressing to learn just how pervasive antisemitism is.

Perhaps my readers might comment on the factors that influence the different percentages between the east, the west and the north.

Pew surveys of 56,000 adults in 34 nations find Western Europeans more willing to have Jewish family members, neighbors than in East; divide in acceptance of Muslims even greater

By TOI STAFF

Eastern Europeans are far less willing to have Jews in their families or as their neighbors than their Western European counterparts, a gap that is even more pronounced when it comes to attitudes toward Muslims.

According to an analysis of a series of surveys by the Pew Research Center carried out from 2015 to 2017 among some 56,000 adults in 34 European countries, the gap between Europe’s two halves is significant.

The figures are also largely unchanged among young adults, aged 18-34, suggesting that current attitudes are likely to remain constant for the foreseeable future.

Donald Trump, America’s First Jewish President

T. Belman. If you want to know if a person is Jewish, look at the religion of his grandkids. Trump has 3 Jewish grandkids by Ivanka and 5 almost Jewish grandkids by Vanessa who is half Jewish. ( I don’t know what half but presume her father was Jewish

Not only did Pres Trump vist Pittsburgh Tree of Life Synagogue and hospital to honour the victims but Jared and Ivanka and Amb Ron Dermer accompanied them. Not only were they representing the US but they were also there in their personal capacity as Jews. I am very impressed.

By Marc A. Scaringi, AMERICAN THINKER

The American people should be proud of their president. In the wake of the tragic shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, President Trump spoke out in the most forceful condemnation of anti-Semitism ever uttered by an American president.

While former president Barack Obama nonsensically chose to the blame the lawfully possessed firearm used in the crime, as if the gun fired itself, Trump put the blame squarely where it belongs: on the evil ideology and man who pulled the trigger while shouting, “Kill all the Jews!”

In a speech in Murphysboro, Illinois, Trump declared,

“We must stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters to defeat anti-Semitism, vanquish the forces of hate … Through the centuries, the Jews have endured terrible persecution…Those seeking [the Jewish people’s] destruction, we will seek their destruction.”

The US gave millions to Arab countries in 1950 to resettle the Arab refugees. The countries took the money and ran.

Historian Kobby Barda has found a lost chapter of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: After World War II, the U.S. gave Israel and Arab nations $1.5 billion to solve the Middle East refugee problem. But only Israel lived up to its end of the deal.

By Eldad Beck, ISRAEL HAYOM

Kobby Barda couldn’t believe what he was seeing. While researching the establishment of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee under the auspices of the Ruderman Program for American Jewish Studies at the University of Haifa, Barda found his way to the personal archive of one Isaiah Leo “Si” Kenen, a Canadian-born lawyer, journalist and philanthropist who was one of the founders of the pro-Israel lobby.

By Christina Laila, GATEWAY PUNDIT

Legendary Boston mobster Whitey Bulger was killed in prison overnight on Tuesday.

89-year-old Boston mob boss James ‘Whitey’ Bulger was killed in prison by a ‘fellow inmate with mafia ties’ shortly after he was transferred to a West Virginia federal prison.

Bulger was reportedly wheeled away from security cameras and beaten with a lock in a sock and also had his eyes gouged out.

Sources told The Daily Mail that Whitey Bulger was about to out people in the FBI, specifically FBI officials of the informant program.

Is America ready for Iran’s plans in Jordan and Lebanon?

America is safer and the world functions better when America is engaged throughout the world.

By Dr Eric R Mandel, JPOST

Every time America tries to pivot its foreign policy toward China and the Far East, the Middle East comes calling. If policy makers in Washington think it’s a binary choice between the challenges of China and North Korea vs. the recurring malignant variants of Shi’ite and Sunni Islamism undermining our national security interests, they are sadly mistaken.

America is safer and the world functions better when America is engaged throughout the world, leading from strength and not from behind. Those who equate engagement with only military action mislead the conversation, as military strength leverages diplomacy, economic sanctions and other tools.

Predicting what’s next in the Middle East is a slippery slope. Who would have predicted the Khashoggi debacle or the 2011 Arab Winter? Yet, it is still imperative for the United States to invest the time and resources to analyze the likely possibilities of what’s coming next to create flexible strategies.

Glick: Jordan’s King Abdullah — Weak, Untrustworthy, and Irreplaceable

T. Belman. “Weak”? For sure. “Untrustworthy”? Absolutely. “Irreplaceable”? Nonsense.

King Abdullah of Jordan Needs to Abdicate written by me and published by American Thinker, among others, makes the case for why he is not an ally and why Mudar Zahran can and should replace him.

By Caroline Glick, BREITBART

It is an open secret, seldom discussed, that the regime of King Abdullah II of Jordan is extraordinarily weak.

He is viewed in the U.S. as a close ally, whose counsel is sought by senior officials and foreign policy practitioners. But more than an ally, Abdullah is a dependent. Without the U.S. — and to a similar degree, without Israel — the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan would not long survive.

The weakness of the Kingdom has two sources. First, Jordan is poor. It lacks natural resources, and due to the regime’s failure to liberalize the economy or reform the legal system in order to cultivate economic growth and productivity, there are few opportunities for private advancement. The average Jordanian lives in poverty. Per capita income in Jordan is $3,238 per year.

Should it be illegal to insult Mohammed?

By Douglas Murray, SPECTATOR

Should you be allowed to say that the founder of one of the world’s largest religions was a paedophile? According to the European Court of Human Rights the answer is ‘no’. In a decision issued this week the Court in Strasbourg ruled that this statement is defamatory towards the prophet of Islam, ‘goes beyond the permissible limits of an objective debate’ and ‘could stir up prejudice and put at risk religious peace.’ Details of the long-running case can be read here.

On Saudi Arabia, Israel Must Decide Between Interests and Values

T. Belman. Arens says we can handle Iran without Saudi Arabia so we shouldn’t compromise our principles and enleague with them. Perhaps. But if we are to embrace them why not demand a mutual embrace. We must insist that they recognize Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people and accept our eastern border as the Jordan River.

Israel and the United States can tackle the Iran issue alone; nothing can justify the recent revelations in the murder of journalist and MBS critic Jamal Khashoggi, which show how things are truly done in Saudi Arabia

By Moshe Arens , HAARETZ

When choosing allies for opposition to a common enemy, balancing interests against values is a perfectly legitimate issue that governments occasionally face. Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt chose to be allied with Stalin’s brutal communist dictatorship in the war against Germany. Without the participation of the Soviet Army, they would have faced an impossible task. National interests trumped stark ideological differences, and rightly so.

Israeli leaders on Monday welcomed the election of Jair Bolsonaro, a controversial hardliner, as new president of Brazil, hailing his bona fide pro-Israel credentials.

“I am certain that your election will lead to a great friendship between our nations and to a strengthening of Israel-Brazil ties,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Bolsonaro during a congratulatory phone call, according to a readout his office on Monday evening.

“Looking forward to your visit in Israel,” he added, referring to the far-right politician’s pledge to come to Israel on his foreign trip as president.

CANDIDLY SPEAKING: Restore deterrance in Gaza now

The horrible reality is that we are in fact negotiating with a terrorist entity while our own military acts as though Hamas represents an equal, mutual deterrent.

BY ISI LEIBLER, JPOST

All of us abhor military confrontation or war, which inevitably leads to casualties.

Today Israel faces a major threat from Hamas in the south; Iran and Hezbollah could become involved if we go for the military option.

I am not privy to military strategy or intelligence and neither am I aware of what other diplomatic elements are in play which may inhibit us from acting.

The Jewish state was created as a haven for the Jewish people who were powerless in the face of persecution in their countries of birth. Israel has developed as a serious military power and has the obligation to provide security to all its citizens. Yet it has failed to do so for months and effectively neglected those residents in the South who feel like helpless refugees in their own country. Such inaction would not have been tolerated if the target had been Tel Aviv rather than Sderot.

The rhetoric of violence has consequences.

Don’t Insult Me As a Rabbi by Blaming Your Political Enemies for Some Dirtbag Jew-Hater

By Dov Fischer, AMERICAN SPECTATOR

Here we go again: “It’s all Trump’s fault.”

Do you remember the Democrats and the CNN crowd rushing to blame Saudi Arabia for the 9-11 attack on the Twin Towers? Or to blame Islam? I don’t. There were 19 murderers on 9-11, and 15 of them came from Saudi Arabia. The others also were Muslims. And all we hear — from Obama and George W. Bush on down — is that Islam is a “religion of peace,” so don’t blame Islam. Obama tells us that ISIS “is not Islamic.” Instead, we were told after 9-11, the “Saudis are our friends.” They, their Wahhabi Islam, the hundreds of anti-Christian madrassas they have built throughout the United States, the $10 billion they have poured into Western colleges and universities, the hundreds of millions they have thrown at American universities to buy off entire Middle East Studies departments and to teach anti-Americanism, anti-Christianity, and anti-Judaism to young people on our soil. And yet we repeatedly get fed the mantra about “our friends the Saudis.”

The Walk Away March

T. Belman. The Walk Away movement and Candace Owens are destroying the Democratic Party and ushering in a whole new world. There are some great video speeches from this March. I have seen Joy Villa and Gina Loudon and Brandon Straka. Check them out. Very entertaining.

That’s the caravan to watch. It is unstoppable.

CFP

It was historic. It was energizing. It was telling. As the Fake News Media is engaging in a non-stop campaign of rhetoric and accusations against President Donald Trump, his “America First” agenda and his supporters, it was a clear illustration of what is really happening all across our nation: The Democratic Party is self-destructing. They are losing what’s left of their base and are in a panic as the mid-term elections approach.

Merkel Won’t Run for Reelection as Chancellor, to Give Up Post as CDU Head

Just two weeks after Angela Merkel’s Christian Social Union allies witnessed their worst election results in decades in Bavaria, her own Christian Democrats are experiencing déjà vu in Hesse’s regional vote. Meanwhile, the anti-establishment Alternative for Germany has entered the last of the 16 state parliaments.

Angela Merkel, who has been chairwoman of the CDU for 18 years, has confirmed that won’t run again for the party leadership at a conference in early December. She revealed that this term will also be her last as Germany’s chancellor as she won’t also seek re-election as a CDU lawmaker.

Earlier the German cabinet’s spokesman Steffen Seibert said that Merkel will keep the post of Germany’s chancellor until the end of her term in 2021 and the next national election, although she earlier claimed that the party leadership and the country’s highest government post are indivisible.

Angela Merkel ‘to step down as German chancellor in 2021’

Chancellor’s party takes heavy losses in regional elections

THE INDEPENDANT

Angela Merkel will not seek re-election as Germany’s chancellor when her term ends in 2021, she has reportedly told senior members of her party.

The comments, reported by the German media, came as the premier met with the leadership of her CDU Christian democratic following heavy losses in regional elections in the state of Hesse.

It has been widely assumed in Germany that this term, which began in 2017, would be Ms Merkel’s last, but there had been no official confirmation of this.

ADL: When Hate Goes Mainstream

The Pittsburgh massacre is only the latest, worst instance of rising anti-Semitism. Americans of conscience must now push back.

By Jonathan A. Greenblatt, NYT

Mr. Greenblatt is the chief executive and national director of the Anti-Defamation League.

This has been a very difficult 24 hours for the Jewish community — and for America. What started as a normal Sabbath for Jews — a time to be with family and community, celebrate bar and bat mitzvahs, hold baby namings, pray to God — ended with news of the massacre at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. This was the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in American history.

While the horror of this massacre is shocking, it is not entirely surprising.

At the Anti-Defamation League, we have been tracking and fighting anti-Semitism for over a century. And while Jews have enjoyed a degree of acceptance and achievement in the United States perhaps unrivaled in our people’s history, recent trends have been alarming.

ANALYSIS: How Saudi Crown Prince ruined his career in one swoop

T. Belman. I am not ready to write him off. I judge him by how he treats Israel rather than how he deals with his enemies.

Once considered an ‘out-of-the-box’ thinker with close ties to the US, Crown Prince’s position now precarious after killing of journalist.

By Yochanan Visser, INN

Mohammed Bin Salman

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) has been called the world’s most dangerous man – and an out-of-the-box thinker who would be able to implement sweeping reforms in Saudi Arabia and promote peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

The de-facto ruler of the oil-rich Kingdom was the darling of the Trump Administration in the Arab world and together with Jared Kushner, Trump’s envoy for the peace process between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs, MBS worked on an out-of-the-box solution for the hundred-year-old conflict.

The revolutionary conservatism of the Jews

By David P Goldman, PJ MEDIA

Nothing is more conservative as a practical matter than Jewish observance. Scripture, and commentaries, and commentaries on commentaries are preserved in a living colloquy among the generations. Communities that adopt specific customs are obligated to preserve them. The reading of the Pentateuch in an annual cycle recreates its revelation at Mt. Sinai: It must be heard and not merely read to evoke the  experience of hearing it for the first time. Yet all of this arch-conservative practice with its punctilious attention to the slightest details of the past is there to bring to life a revolutionary event, the irruption of the Creator God into human history. Nothing is more revolutionary than Judaism. The revolutionary-conservative character of the United States of America cannot be understood except by reference to this phenomenon in Judaism.

George Soros’s Victimhood

By Rachel Ehrenfeld, ACD

Anti-Semitism should always be condemned. But it is somewhat ironic that a man who is Jewish by birth, yet proud for growing up in an “anti-Semitic home,” who demeans Jews and gives millions to anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian and BDS groups, claims to be a victim of anti-Semitism. That man is George Soros.

In the run-up to the midterm election the demonization of President Trump, Republicans and anyone opposing the invasion of undocumented illegal aliens into the U.S., which Soros’s Open Society Foundations has been inderctly supporting, is reaching new heights in the pro-Soros, progressive Left media. Trump’s opposition even claims “Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric may have contributed to an increase in pre-term births among Latina women.” So it is not surprising that Soros’s son alleges “Trump’s anti-Semitic and anti-Democratic Rhetoric Led to Bomb Scare.” And it took no time for the Washington Post and Trump hating Democrat politicians to also blame the President, who supports Israel, and whose daughter is an observant Jewess whose Jewish husband is his trusted adviser, for the tragic anti-Semitic attack that killed 11 American Jews praying at their synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Diverse and Divided

By Tabitha Korol

The Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) Board of Directors issued a comprehensive statement in 2006, whose combined language included helping students to connect their education to societal issues, change inequities, and to promote cultural empathy, pluralism, and diversity in a liberal education.  The key words for determining the value of today’s education, which are severely undermining western civilization, however, are Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Diversity used to define the variety of learning experiences, opinions, and opportunities for a well-rounded education, but the term now applies to the students themselves – their gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, and disability – and how they are to be divided and classified for acceptance into the institute of higher indoctrination.   Meritocracy, then, has been set aside for a quota system based on superficialities, which is passionately supported by the University of Michigan (U-M), among others.  Its spending for the promotion of diversity and inclusivity, reported on October 10, 2016, was $40 million per year with an additional $85 million proposed over the next five years.
