Foreign diplomats add their voices to protest cable sent by dozens of State Department officials

WASHINGTON—The Obama administration reaffirmed its policy toward Syria and said it wouldn’t be swayed by calls within the State Department for airstrikes to weaken the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

The pushback came a day after the release of a protest signed by 51 State Department officials, which said the U.S. risked being complicit in the slaughter of civilians in Syria by failing to punish Mr. Assad’s forces for repeated violations of international cease-fire agreements.

Critics of the White House’s Syria policy, including the government of Saudi Arabia, used the leaking of the cable to intensify calls for the White House to act more aggressively to end the five-year-old civil war.

The European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council is expected to adopt a resolution that will back theFrench peace initiative on Monday, calling for an  international peace conference including Israeli and Palestinian participation before the end of the year.

Senior Foreign Ministry officials said Israel failed to block the move by the panel of the EU’s 28 foreign ministers, which will add significant weight to the French proposal. Israel can now only try to soften the wording of the resolution, they said.

Democrats are heading into their convention next month with deep divisions over U.S. policy toward Israel.

The issue created deep rifts at the Democrats’ convention four years ago, and that discord is likely to grow more pronounced due to the influence of Bernie Sanders, the insurgent liberal populist who’s been much more critical of Israel and its approach to Palestine than Hillary Clinton and most of the party brass.

Clinton has secured enough delegates to win the party’s presidential nomination, but Sanders is vowing to take his campaign all the way to the Philadelphia convention in order to maximize his leverage and yank the still-evolving platform to the left.

Lawyers fuming after Shin Bet finally admit youth leader with outstanding national service was detained for no reason whatsoever.

Half a year after he was arrested by the Shin Bet security services, interrogated for days, and accused of being a “Jewish terrorist,” Israel’s prosecution service has confirmed what Netanel Furkowitz’s defense team have said all along: that the youth leader from the Samaria community of Kochav Hashachar is innocent of any wrongdoing, and had no connection whatsoever to the deadly arson attack in the Palestinian village of Duma last summer.

Responding to a petition from Attorney Adi Kedar of the Honenu legal rights organization, the prosecution said they had officially closed their investigation into Furkowitz, due to lack of evidence.

When fluoride is added to municipal water supplies it supposedly is to reduce tooth decay. However, studies and scientific evidence shows fluoride in the water supply to be of no benefit but to actually be destructive to people’s health and to be the cause of many serious maladies including Cancer.

Fluoride is a toxic waste byproduct of Aluminum production. Its use as an additive in drinking water became a very convenient method of disposal that otherwise would have been very expensive to get rid of.

For several years, Israeli-Saudi collaboration over regional geostrategy to check Iranian influence has been the worst kept secret in the Middle East since the advent of Israel’s robust nuclear arsenal. Still, public coordination has been taboo, and while indirect, and even direct, coordination may be taking place behind closed doors, no official relationships can develop. This, of course, is due to the history between the state of Israel and the Arab world. The latter has been dealing with the disastrous implications of the imposition of the Israeli state, a Jewish majoritarian enterprise by necessity, in Palestine, a land native to hundreds of thousands of Arabs who have become millions of refugees living precariously throughout the region under military occupation or in refugee camps. The question of Palestine is still the long open wound of the Arab world and, until it is healed, it is hard to see how a Saudi-Israel relationship can move in a more overt direction.

T. Belman. Prior to reading this article I was depressed after reading, Can Trump turn it around?, published by THE HILL. It included stuff like this:

It’s not just Trump’s numbers in head-to-head match-ups with Clinton that are problematic. An ABC News/Washington Post poll earlier this week found Trump was viewed unfavorably by 70 percent of the electorate. More troubling still, he was seen unfavorably by 94 percent of African-Americans, 89 percent of Hispanics and 77 percent of women.

Thus the following article is a relief.

Public Policy Polling (PPP) has released yet another state poll on the Trump versus Hillary Clinton match-up, this time for Virginia. Yesterday’s article examined a range of PPP’s state-level polling data in the Trump v. Clinton cage match, revealing some apparently serious liberal bias. The Virginia poll just adds to the concerns.

IN these two videos Rev Manning alleges that the CIA put a hit on him and that Andrew Breitbart as assassinated. I have followed Manning since 2008 and believe him to be very truthful.

He also alleges that Obama never went to Columbia. I believe this. He also alleges that Osama ben Laden was not killed as alleged, that Breitbart knew this and was assassinated because of his knowledge. You decide.

I am not interested in any of his other opinions. But I did follow him closely as he took on Obama.

The changing of the ministers at the Defense Ministry is, as expected, leading to a change in the tone emanating from the ministry. Avigdor Lieberman new approach has yet to manifest itself in actual new measures, beyond revoking the entrance permit from a senior Palestinian Authority official.

But in a conversation with journalists conducted on Wednesday by someone who we will refer to as a senior Defense Ministry official, there were messages conveyed that were decidedly differently from those put across by the previous minister, Moshe Ya’alon.

The new doctrine portrays PA President Mahmoud Abbas as the State of Israel’s main problem as the one who is conducting “diplomatic terror” against it; a future war in Gaza is inevitable; and while Israel must only fight a war of no choice over which there is a total political consensus, if there is war in Gaza it must end with the overthrow of the Hamas regime.

In an interview on Fox News on June 13^th, Donald Trump said: “Look, we’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind. And the something else in mind – you know, people can’t believe it. People cannot, they cannot believe that President Obama is acting the way he acts and can’t even mention the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism’. There is something going on. It is inconceivable. There is something going on.”

Although Mr. Trump did not elaborate on what he meant by “something going on,” Jenna Johnson from The Washington Post, reporting on the interview apparently x-rayed his head. Figuring out what was in Trump’s mind, she came up with an article that was originally titled ‘Donald Trump suggests President Obama was involved with Orlando shootings’, and later re-titled, as ‘Donald Trump seems to connect Obama to Orlando shooting.’

This was one of the many things we learned from The New York Times in David Samuels’s profile of Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes.

In the course of explaining how Rhodes was able to sell Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran, despite the fact that it cleared Iran’s path to a nuclear arsenal while giving the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism more than a hundred billion dollars, Samuels reported that “handpicked Beltway insiders like Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic… helped retail the administration’s narrative.”

As the debate over Donald Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border continues to dominate the presidential race, Israel is reportedly planning to move ahead with a massive above and underground concrete barrier along the entire border with the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

The barrier was revealed on Thursday in a story splashed across the cover of Yedioth Aharonot, Israel’s largest daily newspaper. The story was published with the approval of the country’s defense ministry.
