MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home) submitted a bill Tuesday that would allow the State of Israel to close mosques which incite terror attacks against Jews and Israelis.

Smotrich’s bill follows similar initiatives in France and the US, and the draft already has widespread support, with signatories from Jewish Home, Likud, and Kulanu.

“We will use every tool at our disposal,” Smotrich said. “With terrorism, we must deal with the roots and not just the endpoints.”

“Arab incitement is a well-oiled machine, and the platform upon which terrorism grows – and it’s time to take care of it,” he continued. “We will not allow the use of mosques as a fertile ground for incitement and terrorism.”

• Iran keeps promoting its long-term strategic policy in Syria; it views the country as an integral component of its national security.

• Russia, which has moved urgently to help Assad’s regime survive, has paid a heavy price with the downing of a Russian passenger plane by the Islamic State.

• Iran is encouraged by several key regional and international developments, including Russia’s involvement in Syria, the beginning of the JCPOA nuclear agreement’s implementation, the first breaches in the sanctions, and by being cast as a regional actor that can help settle the region’s problems.

• Iran is exploiting the West’s weakness, especially the United States’ fecklessness and lack of a clear policy on the Middle East’s future in general and on Assad’s in particular.

• If terror is to be fought and soundly defeated, the struggle must be waged against all the terror organizations and the states that support them. Iran has already headed the list of terror-supporting states for years. It is now awarded the status of a partner in trying to settle the Syrian crisis.

• The United States and the West continue to take an approach to terror that is unfocused, selective, and indulgent. They are no longer prepared to pay the price that is entailed in a resolute, hands-on struggle against terror.

Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan denied on Monday night that Israeli police are limiting the number of Jewish visitors to the Temple Mount to a certain quota, and further limiting entry via registration in advance.

The Headquarters of Temple Organizations reported on Monday morning that Jewish visitors to the holy site were surprised on Sunday to receive an announcement from the police, according to which the status quo on the Mount is to be changed starting Monday.

T. Belman. Gabbard nails it. Essentially she blames Obama’s policy to take down the secular dictators such as Ghadaffi, Mubarak and Assad for the current mess. She said the US is arming the same people responsible for 9-11 i.e. the Islamists. She also said that Russia is doing us a favour in cleaning up the mess.

US-Israel relations remain in crisis. President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting in the Oval Office on Nov. 9 seemed like an encounter of a divorced couple discussing their common future. The complete and mutual mistrust turned their conversation into two almost unrelated monologues. Indeed, little was achieved at this summit, except for the expected talks on the security aid package for Israel.

The Nov. 9 meeting between President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu created a facade of improved bilateral relations, but did little to actually repair the damage done to US-Israel ties.

Jewish Home party leader Naftali Bennett claimed he forced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to backtrack on recent comments he made of possible Israeli unilateral pullouts in the West Bank by giving the prime minister a verbal “bullet between the eyes,” Army Radio reported on Monday.

Bennett allegedly made the statement during a private meeting last week with Jewish Home party activists from West Bank settlements. The education minister’s remark prompted fellow party member Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel, sitting alongside him, to caution him to be careful in his choice of language.

The German department store KaDeWe, which on Saturday removed from its store wine produced in the Golan Heights, apologized for the move on Sunday and returned the bottles to its shelves.

Following a great deal of criticism on social media and a protest from the Green Party’s Volker Beck, president of the German-Israeli Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Bundestag, a spokesman for the department store sent him a letter of apology.

“The eight Israeli wines will be immediately returned,” the letter read. “On this issue, dealt with following recommendations of the European Commission, we acted too fast and without sensitivity. We are sorry that the mistaken action of the KaDeWe Group lead to misunderstandings, and we want to apologize for that.”

The government’s decision to declare the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement illegal last week made waves all over the political sphere, with unforeseeable domestic and global long-term consequences.

But one particular area where the consequences will likely be fought out will be an expected petition to the High Court of Justice to try to invalidate the declaration as unconstitutional.

Will the declaration, which was only put forth after careful vetting by the attorney- general, holdup before a High Court challenge? As with most controversial legal-policy issues, views vary widely about the declaration’s legality and in turn whether the High Court will approve it.

News Flash: Gush Katif lands to be divided among Hamas officials

Hamas announces that it will distribute land in the Gaza Strip to officials as compensation for the nearly two years in which many government employees received only partial salary payments.

Most of the land set to be handed out are in the area of Gush Katif settlements, which were evacuated by Israel in 2005 during the unilateral pullout from the Strip.

The Fatah party criticizes the move and says the decision is both dangerous and illegal, and symbolizes the Hamas government’s corruption.

This really bothers me. I was very much against Israel withdrawing from Gush Katif when it was withdrawing from the rest of Gaza. I argued we shouldn’t set a precedent of giving every inch.

When Hamas took over two years later, Israel should have gone in and taken back the land.

Its not too late to do so.

T. Belman. Not mentioned in this article is that Israel released some housing units east of green line with very little international opprobrium. Could Israel be giving some to get some? Netanyahu also hinted last week of unilateral moves but said they could go either way or did he mean both ways. If he is giving the PA expanded rights in Area C for permission to build in the settlement blocs, I am against it.

Analysis: The defense establishment has already realized that Israel has no more gestures to offer the Palestinians. There are two options left: A real peace move or instructing the army to prepare to take over the West Bank completely.

The understanding among senior officials at the US State Department ahead of Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to Israel this week is that Israel will hand additional chunks of Area C over to the Palestinians.

Such a move, if done, means expanding the Palestinian control, and mainly patting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the back, as if telling him that his diplomatic efforts in the past year were not in vain.

If IDF former Chief of Staff Benny Gantz ran for prime minister, more Israelis would support him than current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to a Chanel 2 poll broadcast Saturday.

The poll conducted by Dr. Mina Tzemach and Mano Geva pitted Netanyahu against various candidates for prime minister, and only Gantz surpassed him, with 44 percent choosing him rather than 32% for Netanyahu.

If Gantz were to run as the head of a center-left party, the margin between him and Netanyahu narrows to 4%, with 41% preferring the former chief of staff and 37% choosing Netanyahu.

I have been critical of the Israel government for only acting defensively in response to Arab terror. I suggested that Netanyahu just wants to restore calm as opposed to changing the status quo in response to the terror.

Tuvia Brodie in his INN blog notes that since France has taken extreme measures to combat terror, Israel has done likewise.

How strange: Israel acts cowardly. It watches the world too closely. But sometimes, when terror strikes, it can nevertheless act with speed. This appears to be especially true when Gentiles get tough with their own terror problems.

T. Belman. If ever there was a Trojan Horse, the mass influx of Muslims into the US will be its undoing just as it is in Europe. Not only are they assimilation resistant, they are anti American law and values and want to replace them with Sharia and Islamic values.

The Left including the Jewish establishment paint this as an humanitarian issue. Even the aspirants to the Republican nomination for President, focus on the vetting problem or the jobs problem or even the crime problem but they do not focus on the fifth column that would be created dedicated to replacing the constitution with Sharia law. Considering the extend to which the Muslims keep getting their way in America, thereby changing America, doubling their numbers in America will accelerate the process.

America should not allow Muslim immigration. These people are not refugees entitled to asylum. The can go to Jordan or Turkey where millions are now situate or they can go to 60 plus Islamic states that share their values.

The 11 million illegal aliens who are mainly Christian can easily be assimilated and present no insurmountable problems whereas one million legal Muslim immigrants would present a serious challenge to American values.

No surprise there.

Kahlon makes no secret of his desire for a broad coalition, which would ease his lot. His preferred partner is Zionist Union, with its many Knesset seats; and if not, then Avigdor Lieberman’s Yisrael Beiteinu.

Obama recently lashed out against the idea of giving preference to Christian refugees, describing it as “shameful”: “That’s not American. That’s not who we are. We don’t have religious tests to our compassion,” loftily added the American president.

Accordingly, the administration is still determined to accept 10,000 more Syrian refugees, almost all of whom will be Muslim, despite the fact that some are ISIS operatives, while many share the ISIS worldview (as explained below).

Yet right as Obama was grandstanding about “who we are,” statistics were released indicating that “the current [refugee] system overwhelmingly favors Muslim refugees. Of the 2,184 Syrian refugees admitted to the United States so far, only 53 are Christians while 2,098 are Muslim.”
