Bringing Hamas to justice: Why US charges are an important step – analysis

In a groundbreaking move, the US Department of Justice has unsealed terrorism charges against top Hamas officials. How will this impact Hamas’ operations and international standing?

By SETH J. FRANTZMAN | SEPTEMBER 4, 2024

The US charges against key senior figures in Hamas are a crucial step in bringing Hamas leaders to justice and revealing the terrorist group’s crimes. The US Department of Justice announced that it was “unsealing of terrorism, murder conspiracy, and sanctions-evasion charges against six senior leaders of Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization,” on September 3.

This is essential because it marks a turning point in the public effort to bring Hamas to justice. While the US and other Western countries may have been working behind the scenes for almost eleven months since the October 7 attack, this unsealing of public charges will make it harder for Hamas to escape justice. Hamas has been playing since October 7. It had hoped that Qatar and Egypt might help it broker a deal. It had been using hostages to get this deal. However, it recently murdered six hostages, including an American citizen.

Permanent Intersection of the Interests of the Left and the Enemy

Peloni:  This is a very important article.  On reading of Gantz’ and Eisencot’ assurances that the Philadelphi Corridor is not an existential threat to Israel, it reminded me of Yossi Baum’s excellent telling of how the interests of the Left routinely align with that of Israel’s enemies, both after October 7, and long before that terrible event.  To be certain, the despicable assurances being spouted by the likes of Gantz and Eisencot should be added to this list.

Hezbollah Still Can’t Quite Grasp What the IDF Did to It

Israel took to heart the wisdom of a passage in the Talmud.

by

Hezbollah claims that its attack on Israel on the morning of August 25 was a “success.” Hezbollah released a statement insisting  that “by God’s grace, the first stage has been fully completed with complete success. This stage involved targeting Israeli barracks and sites to facilitate the passage of attack drones towards their intended destination deep within the entity [Israel]. The drones passed, praise be to God, as planned. The number of Katyusha rockets fired so far has exceeded 320 rockets directed at the enemy’s positions.”

Why end the Federal Reserve?

Tierney’s Real NewsSept 2, 2024

This is Part 3 of my series on “What’s the Plan to Save America?” You can find Part 1 here and Part 2 here. I suggest reading them in order as they build on each other.

As I said earlier, I believe that President Trump’s Plan to Save America involves ENDING THE FEDERAL RESERVE and GIVING BACK control of America’s money to the people

Predicting Gaza: Rabin, Sharon, the Knesset and… well, me

T. Belman.  Sherman gives a post mortem on “the documented lack of judgment of many among the senior Israeli leadership” in the lead up to the Gaza Disengagement of 2005.

The same lack of judgement that gave us Oslo and Arafat, I might add.

It would appear that that same lack of judgement is leading us to yet another debacle, namely, the withdrawal from the Philadelphi Corridor, that they, with some notable exceptions, are advocating.

Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

HISTORY IS ABOUT TO REPEAT ITSELF.

The nation’s leaders have proved bereft of foresight – or hindsight for that matter. Can a dangerous ‘trust deficit’ be avoided?

By MARTIN SHERMAN    MARCH 22, 2012

The nightmare stories of the Likud are well known. After all, they promised Katyusha rockets from Gaza as well. For a year, Gaza has been largely under the rule of the Palestinian Authority. There has not been a single Katyusha rocket. Nor will there be any Katyushas. – Yitzhak Rabin, radio interview, July 24, 1995

I am firmly convinced and truly believe that this disengagement… will be appreciated by those near and far, reduce animosity, break through boycotts and sieges and advance us along the path of peace with the Palestinians and our other neighbors.
Ariel Sharon, Knesset address, October 25, 2004

There is a saying, “A person buys their world in one hour.”

By Boaz Haetzni

This could be Netanyahu’s great and historic hour. His entire life up to now, his entire career, all the mistakes he had to learn from, are now culminating in a peak.

If he withstands the pressure and does what is required of him, which he knows well, he will go down in history alongside Churchill, because not only Israel’s fate against Islam is now on the line but also the fate of the Western world that is struggling against the same enemy.

I have a long list of accusations against Netanyahu. He is not to blame for the surprise attack of October 7, but he is to blame for the situation we have reached that day, with only half of the army remaining, which was reduced during his term, and without ammunition for the remaining half. In short, scrolling back through my feed provides a long list of his failures and mistakes. Read more…

The complex relationship between Kamala Harris and American Jews

With some viewing Kamala Harris as supportive and others skeptical of her alignment with the increasingly left-leaning Democratic Party, it is essential to consider deeper issues at play.

By DOUGLAS ALTABEFSept 3, 2024

The range of Jewish attitudes toward presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris is mesmerizing.

There are those who cringe at her continued obeisance to the increasingly left-wing coterie that is setting the tone and texture of the Democratic Party, and wonder what, if any, support she would provide to Israel and the US Jewish community.

Israel to classify West Bank as ‘combat zone’ amid dramatic escalation

Security establishment shifts strategy amid rising tensions and recent attacks. “The Jenin operation is just the beginning,” security officials emphasize.

Recent events have triggered a major policy shift in Israel’s approach to the West Bank, Israel Hayom has learned. Previously designated as a “secondary arena” requiring stable maintenance since the war’s onset, recent attacks have convinced top officials that this stance is no longer tenable. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) now operate under a new paradigm, viewing the West Bank as the second most critical front, immediately after Gaza.

While this directive is still in its initial stages, with substantial changes on the ground expected to take time, a series of operations across the West Bank are imminent. “The Jenin operation is just the beginning,” security officials emphasize.

The Censorship Doctrine, and How it is Implemented

Peloni: Mike Benz explains how Deep State operators were able to so quickly align its allies in the press to execute sweeping censorship tactics to muzzle its opposition.  In doing so, he walks us thru how the Neocon failures in Ukraine led to the need to completely silence opposition forces by weaponizing the press and pressuring compliance from social media companies to silence all dissenting voices, including those voices of pro-Trump supporters and vaccine injured/opponents.

Israel Has the Right to Win

Peloni: Great article

Not a right to defend itself. A right to win.

Daniel Greenfield | Sept 3, 2024

“Israel has a right to defend itself,” Kamala told CNN. And then insisted that the “war must end.”

What Kamala was really saying was that Israel has a right to defend itself against an attack, but it doesn’t have a right to win.

Democrats and some Republicans have offered the same formulaic responses since Oct 7.

And long before that.

The IDF’s Double Offensive: Israel’s Bold Move Against Hezbollah and West Bank Militants

by Seth J. Frantzman | August 30, 2024

Israel now faces new strategic choices. It is seeking to cement its defeat of Hamas in Gaza and retain control of the southern Gaza Philadelphi corridor along the border with Egypt. It hopes to blunt terror attacks in the West Bank and Hezbollah’s attacks in Lebanon. At the same time, it faces Iranian-backed attacks from militias in Iraq, Syria, and Yemen, as well as Iran’s own threats to carry out more attacks.

9/1 Letter from IDSF to PM Netanyahu: Keep Philadelphi Corridor and Regain National Unity

September 1, 2024

To: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Members of the Security Cabinet

For the sake of the hostages and for Israel’s security, Israel must retain control of the Philadelphi Corridor and Rafah Crossing areas while balancing all political considerations.

The IDSF expresses its deep shock at the cold-blooded murder of our abducted citizens by Hamas. Above all else, we commend and appreciate the IDF combatants and all the security services for their dedication, courage, and professionalism, and their confidence in the justice of the cause that brought them to the battlefield in this existential war. We also wish the speedy homecoming of all of our hostages.

Iran’s Gaza War: Unfortunately, A Ceasefire Deal Will Not Bring the Hostages Back

  • The Biden-Harris administration apparently sees no problem with a Palestinian state being yet another terrorist state, committed to annihilating Israel — as both Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Qods Force commander General Esmail Qaani (“Israel is a cancer that must be eliminated”), and senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad have straightforwardly vowed.
