Iran’s Nightmares

The Iranian attack on Israel seems a historic blunder. It opened up a new chapter in which its own soil, thanks to its attack on Israel, is no longer off limits to any Western power.

By

Details of the recent limited Israeli retaliatory strike against Iranian anti-aircraft missile batteries at Isfahan are still sketchy. But nonetheless, we can draw some conclusions.

Israel’s small volley of missiles hit their intended targets, to the point of zeroing in on the very launchers designed to stop such incoming ordnance.

The target was near the Natanz enrichment facility. That proximity was by design. Israel showed Iran it could take out the very anti-missile battery designed to thwart an attack on its nearby nuclear facility.

Can the Swamp be Drained?

By Steve McCann, AM THINKER April 25/24

On October 17, 2016, Donald Trump issued a press release and subsequent Tweet stating, “I will make our Government honest again — believe me. But first I am going to have to #DrainTheSwamp.” in Washington, D.C. Thereby creating a campaign slogan that was instrumental in his winning the 2016 election as Trump seized on an extremely popular position that resonated with a majority of the electorate.

Reformed Hamas Militant Speaks Out: The Truth About Israel-Gaza

Douglas Murray and Mosab Hassan Yousef, The Free Press    April 24, 2024

Mosab Hassan Yousef was born in Ramallah to one of the founders of the Islamist movement. Growing up, Mosab embraced his father’s ideology and was arrested by Israeli authorities multiple times, starting at age 10, for crimes like throwing stones at Israeli settlers and purchasing guns. But during a stint in Israeli prison in the late 90s, at age 18, he became an Israeli informant.

NYU Stern’s Scott Galloway Defends Israel On MSNBC, Cites U.S. History

Speaking on MSNBC, Professor Scott Galloway discussed historical international military responses to underline his defense of Israel. He referenced significant events in U.S. history, noting, “After the attack on Pearl Harbor, which resulted in the deaths of 2,200 American servicemen, the U.S. military actions during World War II led to the deaths of approximately 3.5 million Japanese, including 100,000 in a single night. Similarly, following the 9/11 attacks that killed 2,800 Americans, subsequent U.S. military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq resulted in around 400,000 deaths. In these contexts, the U.S. was not accused of genocide.”

A grand jury in Arizona on Wednesday indicted 18 Republicans, including Rudy Giuliani and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, with conspiracy, fraud, and forgery for submitting a document to Congress “falsely” declaring that Donald Trump beat Joe Biden in Arizona’s popular vote during the 2020 presidential election.

The court documents identify a “prior U.S. president,” presumably referring to President Trump, as an unindicted co-conspirator.

New York Times Failures in Israel Coverage Point to Larger Bias: Experts

By Dan M. Berger, EPOCH TIMES April 23/24

When a missile exploded near a Gaza hospital in October last year, the New York Times reported that hundreds had been killed in a blast caused by an Israeli missile that struck the hospital.

The Hamas terrorist group made all of those claims. None of them were true.

Western intelligence agencies over the next few days agreed with Israel that it was an off-course missile fired by Hamas or another terrorist group that exploded prematurely. The rocket hit a hospital parking lot where some people were gathered. And most reported the casualties as much lower.

No, we should not feel sorry for ‘the children’ in Gaza.

Isn’t it interesting how so many people never seem to really worry about the Israeli children, just those on the Palestinian side?

By Joshua Hoffman, FUTURE OF JEWISH    24 April 2024

Earlier this week, the notorious United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees posted photos of children in Gaza with the caption: “One child is killed or injured every 10 minutes.”

It was just another one of the countless blatantly calculated lies on which the Palestinian narrative, spanning decades, has been predominantly built.

In fact, there are so many lies that it is nearly impossible to discern fact from fiction across virulent Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim propaganda — all with the goal not of legitimizing their “plight” but of delegitimizing the Jewish state.

Israel — An Unlikely Pariah in a Dangerous World

By Janet Levy, AM THINKER April 23/24

If you believe the enemies of the free world, Israel is guilty of the worst crimes against humanity.  Governments, international organizations, NGOs, academics, and student activists condemn its post-October 7th actions against Islamic terrorists.  Leftist media makes the only democracy in the Middle East seem worse than communist China.

Consider only a few of China’s numerous atrocities that Western governments, international bodies, and mainstream media overlook:

  • The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) continues its brutal suppression of students at Tibet’s universities.  Every year, beginning in March, Tibetan students organize protests to mark the anniversary of the Chinese occupation of their country in 1959.  To counter them, since 2009, China has been ordering campus lockdowns lasting as long as a month.  Surveillance cameras, facial recognition technology, and tracking via a required app called Clean Cafeteria alert the authorities to students’ locations and activities.  This year’s lockdown lasted the entire semester.  At a recent protest, over 100 students were arrested and 20 killed.

Is It Game, Set, Match to Moscow?

The American brand will suffer so long as Washington pretends its capacities are limitless.

By Douglas Macgregor, AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE    23 April 2024

It is an axiom of warfare that it is always desirable to have friendly territory beyond one’s own borders or the capacity to prevent the buildup of significant military power in neutral territory for an attack against one’s own territory. When it lacked the military strength to do much, the United States promulgated the Monroe Doctrine with a similar purpose in mind.

The Green New Deal Is Based on Lies About Budgets, Green Energy, and Climate Science

E. Rowell:  There are many fallacies in the ‘global warming’ hypothesis, the most central fallacy and the most ridiculous is the idea that too much CO2 he atmosphere is “the problem.”  Even were it possible to lower atmospheric CO2, doing so would cause devastation to the earth.  All living animals including humans get our oxygen from plants.  Plants require CO2 for photosynthesis.  Any reduction in CO2 would cause a reduction in plant life on earth, which would cause a reduction in all animal life on earth.  How is that “saving the earth?”

The Green New Deal is here, and it is worse than you think.

By Jeff Reynolds, AMERICAN GREATNESS    24 April 2024

Contrary to the breathless pronouncements by globalists, elitists, and climate hysterics, we don’t have a “climate crisis.” What plagues us, rather, is a crisis of lying about climate, science, and big government solutions to these imagined problems.

DEI’s demise will save public education

Division, excuses and incompetence

By Joseph R. Murray, WASHINGTON TIMES   Tuesday, April 23, 2024

DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) demise and public education illustration by Greg Groesch / The Washington Times

Last week, the University of Texas at Dallas made headlines when it shuttered its DEI-related jobs, offices and programs. The decision was not made because the university finally realized that people are complex individuals who cannot be pigeonholed into an identity but because Texas lawmakers, via SB 17, put such programs in the crosshairs.

DEI, which stands for diversity, equity and inclusion, is a mindset that all people of various backgrounds should feel welcome in their school or place of business. While the mindset sounds noble, the means by which its end is reached has caused many to claim DEI is arbitrary at best and racist at worst.

Oct. 7 and April 14: Watershed moments for Israel

Israel cannot accept a situation where it is diplomatically and militarily hampered in every direction by well-meaning but weak allies or by supremely confident Shiite mullahs and their Russian ally.

By  David M. Weinberg, ISRAEL HAYOM  04-21-2024 17:50

Reading the Israeli and global media one would think that this week Israel achieved its greatest victory since the Six-Day War, successfully stymying a massive Iranian missile attack. With dozens of videos and hagiographic pilot profiles, the IDF is busy pumping its technological prowess. In religious circles, there are a thousand memes and essays circulating asserting a divine miracle, no less.

This is poppycock. At best, Israel can record a defensive tactical achievement, perhaps indeed blessed, but not a strategic win. On the strategic level, Israel suffered a whopping loss as Iran pierced with apparent impunity American and Israeli deterrence frameworks.

Netanyahu: Hamas to face ‘painful blows’ in the coming days

“We will bring it [Hamas] more painful blows; it will happen soon,” said the Israeli premier.

Israel will inflict “painful blows” on Hamas in the coming days in an attempt to free the remaining 133 hostages held by the terrorist group in the Gaza Strip, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday.

“Why is this night different, citizens of Israel? That on this night, 133 of our dear brothers and sisters are not at the seder table and are still held captive in the inferno of Hamas,” he said in his Passover remarks.

State Department Stabs Israel in the Back, Twists the Knife

Biden administration promotes Hamas propaganda by smearing Israel as a human rights abuser.

On Tuesday, the State Department published its 2023 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. What should have been a non-political document completed the betrayal of Israel that the Biden administration began on March 25, when it refrained from having the U.S. veto a UN resolution calling for a Gaza ceasefire, the impact of which would enable the leadership of Hamas to survive and launch more attacks on Jews and Jewish babies. The clear meaning of the October 7 massacre was witnessed in Palestinians burning infants alive to cries of “Allahu Akbar” as though the incineration of the innocent – should they be Jews – is a holy sacrament rather than a sick episode in the wretched history of humanity’s inhumanity to its weakest members.

Contempt For Ordinary Voters Undermines Opposition To Trump

By Louis Markos, THE FEDERALIST    22 April 2024

A complaint I hear increasingly leveled at contemporary American politicians is that they are out of touch with voters, if not downright contemptuous of them. On a number of core issues, politicians seem less concerned with pursuing policies that are deeply unpopular with ordinary Americans than with upholding the ideologies and self-interests of the ruling elite. Two dramatic examples of this political disconnect with average citizens are the refusal of urban governments to prosecute violent criminals, which has caused a surge in crime, and the White House’s tolerance of mass immigration, which threatens jobs, security, and the rule of law.
