Peloni:  In fact, the Jews of America carry a large burden in the coming election.  Their support for the current regime aided in the replacement of the most pro Israel, philosemitic govt in US history with the most anti Israel, antisemitic govt in US history.  The consequences of this dereliction to their own self defense and self interest is directly linked to the Pal riots which are today targeting the children of those same American Jews who pulled the lever for Biden over Trump.  Hence there can be no self deception among American Jews in the coming election, as their safety and security is once again to be on the ballot as the choice is to be once again between the same well demonstrated philosemite and his well demonstrated antisemitic rival.  While this will be seen to be the most important election in US history, it will likewise be the most pivotal election in the history of both Israel and American Jewry, so I would call on the Jewish Democrats to be more deliberative than spontaneous in making their choice.  They should in fact make this choice as if their lives and livelihoods as well as that of their loved ones may be significantly impacted by their choice, because they will be.

The shameful silence on Jewish Democrats’ part has led to the current Jew hating thugs on college campuses. And if and when Biden loses, it will get worse. Opinion.

It would be a devastating betrayal of both the dead and the living to accept any surrender to Hamas, even more so a surrender which abandons dozens of abductees to their ultimate fate in the hands of the Hamas butchers and rapists.  The goals of the war, all of the goals, must be pursued to completion.  Any deviation from such a pursuit would have the gravest of consequences.  Personally, I do not believe this will happen, and in fact, it must not.

A new Israeli proposal for a possible hostage deal with Hamas includes a willingness to discuss the “restoration of sustainable calm” in Gaza after an initial release of hostages on humanitarian grounds, two Israeli officials told Axios.

Why it matters: It is the first time since the Oct. 7 attack on Israel by Hamas that Israeli leaders have suggested they are open to discussing an end to the war in Gaza as part of a hostage deal.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Thursday threatened to crush the Palestinian Authority (P.A.) financially if certain unilateral actions are brought against Israel in the international arena.

In an open letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Smotrich warned that if any decision is made by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague to unilaterally issue arrest warrants against Israeli citizens, or “a decision is made unilaterally in the [United Nations] General Assembly to recognize a Palestinian state, I will unilaterally and immediately stop the transfer of all funds to the P.A.”

The U.S. State Department is engaged with Israel to find a path to “remediation” for an Israel Defense Forces unit that it has determined is credibly accused of “gross human-rights violations,” according to a letter JNS viewed.

Antony Blinken, the U.S. secretary of state, stated in the letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Saturday that it is his assessment that some IDF units might be in violation of U.S. law, but that would not affect U.S. military support to Israel.

I grew up in the 1960s as an Orthodox Jew in a semi-parochial community in Brooklyn, New York, a neighborhood tucked between Flatbush, Flatlands, and Canarsie. Although very few of our neighbors were Orthodox, the community must have been 95 percent Jewish. Kathy was the one Catholic kid on the block. Hers was the only window in a half-mile radius that did not display a menorah kindling in December. Since she was the only non-Jew in our world, we assumed all non-Jews were Catholic. Protestants were exotic. There were Italian Catholics, Irish Catholics, Polish Catholics, and Kathy.

On Wednesday, hikers around the southern Israeli city of Arad discovered the remains of an Iranian ballistic missile from the April 13 overnight assault. Israel’s Channel 11 identified it as a Khader-1 missile. The Khader-1, like the Imad missiles, which Iran also used in its strike, are nuclear capable.

The fact that Iran used two ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads should sound every alarm bell. In an interview with Deutsche Welle on Tuesday, International Atomic Energy Agency chairman Rafael Grossi said that Iran is “weeks rather than months” away from having enough enriched uranium to develop a nuclear bomb.

Sirens sounded in the town of Acre as drones and rockets were launched at what pro-Hezbollah media described as ‘military targets’ between Acre and Nahariya. There were no casualties. The “pier” is already a useless disaster.

Construction on Biden’s pier-to-nowhere just began and it’s already a disaster with a UN team having to run for cover as the scheme to deliver aid through a floating island/pier came under terrorist mortar fire.

While the Biden administration hyped the idea that this would be an international effort, the only ones actually securing it are the Israeli forces on the ground.

Biden tasked 1,000 military personnel with the job while keeping them off the ground in Gaza (some are instead deployed in parts of Israel outside terrorist control) which meant that the Israeli military had to do the heavy lifting.

Rowell:  These “protests” are actually well organized and funded.  One photo I saw from the “protest” at Columbia showed many tents all exactly the same, an indication that this was not an organic spontaneous uprising of individuals.  Columbia University’s President, Minouche Shafik, was interviewed shortly after 9/11.  She said that when Palestinians kill it is in protest.  Let that sink in.  Latest news reports from JNS indicate that at Columbia U. law enforcement has been called in and the participating students were arrested and suspended.  At this time it is not known if the suspensions will hold or whether Shafik will renege on her decision.

What we are dealing with right now on college campuses is a sprawling—systemic, one might say—conspiracy to deprive Jewish students of basic equal rights.
