  1. Hi, Peloni

    I’m going over your link-link at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL3y2OEY0qA

Yishai Fleischer first says that Mike said “Erdogan may be a great partner for the region, and for Israel. Of course, this isn’t MY position; but let’s see if Mike actually said that:

Just a little bunny trail, Peloni — Mike begins by saying the Russians have been intimately linked with the Iranians with regard to Syria – dividing up tasks between them. This seems to contradict your own assertion that Russia is not closely connected with Israel’s enemies. As I said, this is a bunny trail. I’ll move on…

Another bunny trail: Mike calls the Syrian War and the Ukraine War “twin conflicts”. I have been saying this all along, and you’ve naysaid me. Hop, hop. . .
Now it gets complicated: Mike is speaking of the “Russian-Iranian Combine”, and the fact that Erdogan’s going after it is 100% in Israel’s interest. I agree so far…

At this point, FLEISCHER brings up the hypothesis that Doran is suggesting that Israel ally itself with Erdogan. Doran denies this.

At this point, Mike mentions the pro-Iranian “Obiden” policy. That concerns the need for Israel to vitiate Iran. Of course, this accords with Ezek. 38, which speaks of an Iran (or “Persia”) having fallen to a subservient position after Erdogan (“Gog”) in the coming grand attack on Israel.

Now Fleischer and Mike agree that the present is a time to “work with” Erdoan — which Mike adds will not be a “honkey-dorey” relationship. Fleischer then says he thinks of Turkey as a ‘deodifensity”, whatever that means (Jihadi?). Mike denies this. From here on, we just have closing remarks.

I don’t recall Mike describing Turkey as Israel’s greatest enemy.

Neither do I. Read Ezek. 38: God says He will “put hooks into the jaw” of Erdogan, COMPELLING him to lead a coalition against Israel: a coalition consisting of Turkey, Iran, Sudan and Libya. The Turkish leader will be FORCED by circumstances to do something he doesn’t currently intend to do. Not only that, but this attack will turn out to be a disaster for Turkey.

Everything in its time. Thank you for the link.

  2. @Michael

I don’t remember seeing what you are talking about, in Mike’s speech

You missed his previous statement on this subject from the day before:
    https://www.israpundit.org/63726610-2/

I do recall your talking up Turkey role in the region, and it seems that the moment you have been expecting is now arriving, or at least to some extent, in any event.

Regarding Russia, the collapse of Assad in combination with the total implosion of Iran’s dominating role in the region will have an important effect on Russia.

    Regarding

he will always prioritize American issues over ME problems.

This is only reasonable and responsible, but it should be noted that Israel’s objectives in the region actually align with American issues. What is more, the Trump doctrine, if actually employed, would see America’s regional allies doing the work which America is loathe to do, but they do need to be offered the means to do so, and as I have noted previously, this should come in the form of a sale of arms rather than as another dreaded aid package which only weighs on American debt and leverages American control over Israel under hostile US administrations.

I don’t recall Mike describing Turkey as Israel’s greatest enemy. You probably do not have the link handy, but if you do I would appreciate you sharing it.

  3. Peloni,

I don’t remember seeing what you are talking about, in Mike’s speech. From what I remember, he said:

1.Expect Trump’s unwavering support of Israel, but don’t expect him to become “Israel First” — he will always prioritize American issues over ME problems.

    2. If Israel wants something, tell Trump about it after it’s done (My note: This was the policy in 1956; but Trump isn’t Eisenhower).

Turkey is, now more than ever, a major adversary to Israel

That’s Ezekiel 38, which I’ve been quoting for years (Erdogan is probably God’ Anatolia is and has always been the “Land of Magog”). I’ve been watching and waiting to see Turkey surpass Iran as the paramount power N and E of Israel. I’ve also been waiting for Russia and America to cease to be the most important players in Syria. I don’t recall Mike ever advocating Israel seeking friendship with Turkey. In fact, I recollect once hearing him identify Turkey as Israel’s most dangerous enemy.

  4. @Michael
Yes, I agree. My problem with Mike remains not with his clear and outspoken support for Israel, but that he consistently sees the path towards pursuing that support thru a Turkish dominated lens, while ignoring the real world consequences of the fact, and it is a fact, that Turkey is, now more than ever, a major adversary to Israel – not an adversary based on political differences, but one based upon an Islamist ideology, specifically that of the Muslim Brotherhood, which has sought the obliteration of the Jews and the Jewish State well before there was a Jewish State to obliterate. This inexplicable distinction is one which I find conditioned on the replacement of a nuclear Iran with that of a conventional Turkey, which may be more acceptable to some within the US, but should be understood to be mutually exclusive to the survival of Israel, on which Mike routinely advocates on behalf. The obvious disparity in all of this is both toxic and worrisome. He has yet to be offered a role in Trump’s team, and though I expect that this will likely change, I couldn’t be happier if he were not offered a seat at the table of Trump’s advisors specifically and exclusively due to his role of selling Turkey as a stabilizing regional force, which it will never be.
