The Tekiah and the Taqiyya

Peloni:  Fascinating!

Here are two words that sound similar to the human ear but whose meanings are a universe apart.

Tekiah is the Hebrew word uttered in the synagogue to usher in the sound of the shofar – the ram’s horn – during the Jewish festival of Rosh Hashanah: the Jewish New Year.

Egypt Is Preparing For War With Israel?!

Peloni:  Khaled Hassan, Egyptian-British national security and foreign policy researcher, discusses the Egyptian war posture, where it stems from, how significant it is, and how it threatens peace with Israel.  He also addresses the complex and changing situation of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.  Note that the threat of possible war with Egypt has forewarned by both Dr. David Wurmser and Mudar Zahran as well as Khaled.

IDF Strikes 850 Hamas Targets; Houthi REVENGE Missile Attack Intercepted | TBN

Peloni:  Mati Shashani provides a more positive perspective regarding the position of the US vis a vis Qatar as displayed in the days following the Israeli strike on the Hamas leadership in Qatar.  Whereas Mati prefers to interpret Rubio’s actions as evidence that Qatar is not an ally, and only a mediator, Rubio’s boss, Pres. Trump described Qatar plainly as not only an ally, but a “great ally”, one which doesn’t receive enough credit for its actions which he suggests they do a better job of portraying to the world.  The irony in this is so great that it strikes of satire, in which the Qatari govt’s massive influence peddling and Al Jazeera media empire are not doing enough to convince the world that this world wide terror supporting regime should be seen to be an American ally rather than as an agent injecting Muslim Brotherhood theology into the heart of the West so as to destroy it from within.  The distinction between the appropriateness of the US alliance with Qatar and Qatar’s anti-American activities is both glaring and costly in more ways than can reasonably be quantified…which is why America’s romance with Qatar should be ended.  As Daniel Greenfield recently, and accurately, penned, “[America] should not be in Qatar. And Qatar should not be in America.”

COLUMBIA RIOTS: Judge Orders Pro-Terrorist Ringleader Mahmoud Khalil Deported

Peloni:  The time it has taken to deport Khalil demonstrates the state of open siege which the US is facing from within its very borders by its very political/judicial structures which were erected to prevent such outrages as have been evidenced in this battle to deport Khalil.

By – on

An immigration judge has just ordered Mahmoud Khalil, who led the vicious antisemitic riots at Columbia University, be deported to Syria or Algeria. Mahmoud Khalil is a Syrian national who was part of a group that assaulted police officers, assaulted a Barnard staffer, and violently took over the library.

From a new vantage point in Jerusalem, he wrote about the dangers facing Israel and the antisemitism of its enemies.

— Rabbi Berel Wein (October 1990)

Iran Must Surrender: Why the Nuclear Threat Demands Unconditional Victory

Peloni:  This is a must read article.  Walter and Jacob hit it right on every point.

By Jacob Kohn and Walter E. Block

On June 20, 2025, President Donald Trump authorized the most consequential military action of his second presidency: U.S. B-2 stealth bombers dropped massive bunker-buster bombs on Iran’s nuclear facilities, including the heavily fortified Fordo site buried 300 feet beneath a mountain. This action, while controversial, was both necessary and overdue.

From Israel: A Perverse and Malevolent Tangle!!

Peloni: One of Arlene’s best articles yet.  I couldn’t agree more.

Arlene Kushner | September 17, 2025

We cannot afford to be naïve. The nations of the world function with self-interest as their first priority. It could not be otherwise. Underlying that self-interest are complex, frequently hidden, motivations.

And yet, as we say, yesh g’vul. There is a limit.

Factored into the calculus of national self-interest there should be a stand against evil: a readiness to act against elements that lack respect for human life, undercut basic human liberties and embrace obscene acts of violence.

Ex-Mossad official: Qatar, Iran main culprits of Oct 7 massacre

“With great genius, and to my great regret with considerable assistance from Jewish and Israeli elements from different worlds, worlds of campaigns, lobbyists, high-tech, security, financial advisors, people whispering in the ears of decision-makers, the Qataris managed to take control of strategic assets in the West, in Israel, in Africa and in South America,” Dr. Udi Levi says.

By  Shirit Avitan Cohen | Israel Hayom | 09-17-2025

Udi Levi, former Economic Warfare & Financial Intelligence Division at the Mossad, who dealt with economic warfare against terrorism, spoke at the annual World Summit on Counter-Terrorism held at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism Policy (ICT) at Reichman University Wednesday. Levi addressed Qatar’s involvement in influence networks and funding organizations, calling for formulating a renewed Western strategy against the Gulf state.

Mudar Zahran:  At the Arab summit in Doha yesterday

Mudar Zahran | Sept 16, 2025

At the Arab summit in Doha yesterday, Jordan’s kinglet demanded from fellow Arab leaders “a deterring response to Israel.”

Egypt’s Sisi went even further, flatly calling Israel “our enemy.”

This isn’t some sudden rebirth of Arab nationalism—it’s China pulling the strings.

On Day 1 Of Gaza City Offensive, Netanyahu Vows To Build ‘Independent Arms Industry’ In Israel | IDF

Peloni:  This was an outcome which became evident in the early months of the war, and became even more publicly clear following Netanyahu having to tell Pres. Biden that Israel would fight with their fingernails if needed to win this war.  Well, today, Israel is not fighting with fingernails, but the controlled environment of Israel’s defenses which exists in outsourcing its defense industry oversees, even to an ally, still exists.  All nations have interests, and to the point that these interests overlap, alliances are formed.  Yet, as is evident in Trump’s declaration that Qatar is a great allly, and the UAE’s threat over Israel extending sovereignty to its heartlands within its own borders, a nation’s sovereignty must be understood to be tied to its degree of independence.   The shift of support or even toleration of Israel and Jews around the world following October 7, even among former allies and safehavens in the Diaspora, demonstrates the need of an independent Israel, capable of making the choices needed to carryout its raison d’tre of choosing the fate of its own people.

Generation Remigration: The Reclamation of Western Civilization

by Linda Goudsmit | September 14, 2025

In an extraordinary moment in the history of Western civilization, two defining events happened––the assassination of Charlie Kirk in the United States on September 10, 2025, and Tommy Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom rally in England on September 13, 2025. These two momentous events bookended the 24th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, Islamic attack on the United States of America killing 3,000 innocents.

These seemingly unrelated events are, in fact, intimately connected.

US’ Low-Risk Investment in Israel Compared to Zig-Zagging Allies

Ambassador (ret.) Yoram Ettinger, “Second Thought: a US-Israel Initiative” | September 12, 2025

*Iran was generally neutral-to-friendly toward the US until the 1951 rise to power of the pro-Soviet Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh, who demoted the pro-US Shah to a marginalized ceremonial monarch. During the period 1953-1978, following the dismissal of Mosaddegh, and the restoration of the executive power of the Shah, Iran functioned as one of the US’ most trusted Cold War allies, a Major Non-NATO Ally of the US and “the American Policeman of the Gulf.” This strategic honeymoon was terminated by the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which transformed Iran into a clear and present threat to the US, the chief global epicenter of civil wars, anti-US terrorism, drug trafficking and money laundering in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, with a multitude of terror sleeper cells on US soil.

Willfully Ignorant:  Jews Who Blame Israel for the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

By Lawrence Martin
drlarry437@gmail.com

Essay based on information in:

http://www.lakesidepress.com/JewsWhoBlameIsrael.pdf

I was raised in a conservative Jewish household, married a Jewish woman, raised three Jewish girls, and now have five Jewish grandchildren. During a four-decade career in medicine, our family was active in the large Jewish community of Cleveland, which was (and remains) very pro-Israel. Yet during this period, if you had given me a quiz on the history of Israel or the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (IPC), I would have flunked. I was busy seeing patients, writing books on medical topics, teaching. It was only after retirement and three trips to Israel that I became knowledgeable about this history, and began to take note of the range of Jewish opinions about the long-standing IPC.
