Jim Hanson, chief editor of the Middle East Forum (MEF) and author of Winning the Second War: Without Firing a Shot and Cut Down the Black Flag: A Plan to Defeat ISIS, spoke to an October 30 Middle East Forum Webinar (video) in an interview with Benjamin Baird, director of MEF Action. The following is a summary of their comments:
Although the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operate in accordance with international treaties and the Geneva Conventions, the media and international left spread misinformation by lying about lawful operations and accusing Israel of engaging in “occupation” and indiscriminate killing of civilians. Because all of Gaza is a “large armed terrorist encampment” under Hamas control, shutting off services in a siege is the “proper way” to conduct an offensive, not a war crime.
For Benjamin Netanyahu, a conclusive victory on the battlefield is critical to Israel’s future as well as his own political survival.

When war broke out on Oct. 7, pundits around the world began asking whether the massive intelligence and security failure that led to the brutal murder of 1,400 Israelis, injury of thousands more and horrific kidnapping of as many as 240 hostages would be embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “Golda moment.”

The Biden administration, steeped as it is in military prowess and full of great military thinkers who understand both military strategy and tactics – and American military history – has dispatched General Antony Blinken to Jerusalem to help Israel fight its war against Hamas. Because the United States knows better.
First, according to General Blinken, the IDF should use smaller bombs to try to protect Gaza civilians “while still achieving its objectives of finding and finishing Hamas terrorists.” The US, according to The New York Times, is preparing to ship smaller bombs to Israel. Furthermore, according to The Times, U.S. officials have been encouraging Israel to use the tactics of US Special Operations forces against in Iraq: targeting Hamas leaders “using small teams of commandos, combined with precision strikes from drones and manned aircraft.” [Note: In Mosul, US and allied forces killed upwards of 9,000 civilians in the battle against ISIS.]

Summary: Since the October 7, 2023 terror attack on Israel’s Southern villages and kibbutzim, the Palestinian terror group Hamas has been shaking under an unprecedented Israeli military campaign that is compounded by an angry population that is suffering the consequences of Hamas’s recklessness. JaFaJ has learned that Hamas, with hostages in hand, was expecting to have the upper hand over Israel, but Israel didn’t take the bait and budge. As a result, Hamas has proposed two ceasefires to the USA and Israel. Both were conveyed to United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and the Israeli leadership.

After war, Blinken seeks ‘Gaza unified with the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority,’ no use of Gaza as a platform for terrorism, no blockade or reduction in Gaza’s territory
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday called on Israel not to reoccupy the Gaza Strip once its war with Hamas ends.
His remarks came amid a flurry of statements from Washington officials against such a scenario after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will have “indefinite” overall security control of the Palestinian enclave once it has destroyed Hamas and removed it from power.

HaBithonistim chairman Brigadier-General (res.) Amir Avivi believes that in the current war with Hamas, Israel will be required to conquer all of Gaza, until the Egyptian border – or the goals of the war will not be achieved.
In an interview with 103 FM Radio, Avivi said, “There is definitely an amazing increase in the army’s power. There is fog of war, and that is a good thing.”
He added, “We need to understand that we are conquering an entire city. Around it there are many crowded camps. We are advancing towards the operational heart – there are a few secondary hearts which will be taken care of.”

Mothers of combat soldiers to PM: “The lives of our sons, daughters, brothers and sisters are more important than the lives of the enemy’s civilians”

After seeing how Hamas terrorists hide behind civilian populations, a group of mothers of IDF combat soldiers called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “We are not prepared under any circumstances to accept a situation in which the lives of our soldiers will be in danger; the lives of our soldiers come before the lives of the enemy’s civilians.”
A group of mothers whose children are serving on various fronts appealed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to endanger the safety of their children due to a fear of harming the enemy’s civilians.

World War III is everywhere and nowhere. Politicians and pundits predict it and warn about it as they’ve been doing for 70 years. And for all of that time we’ve been fighting World War III.
Is WWIII in Iran or Ukraine? Yes in its own way. Is it in the confrontations in the South China Sea, the Hamas attack on Israel or in the riots in the streets of our own cities? Also all yes. Not to mention cartels smuggling drugs and foreign influence operations being run in D.C.

T. Belman. It is plain for all to see. Thanks for admitting it. Bibi is speaking weakly. On the one hand he says no ceasefire before we destroy Hamas but goes on to sayno ceasefire before the hostages are returned. Is he suggesting that the return of the hostages will end the war with Hamas standing?
He is also saying that Israel will take “overall security responsibility” in Gaza indefinitely after its war with Hamas, That’s no solution at all. Liberman is saying “turning over Gaza to the PA is dellusional”.
Bibi should be planning to annex Gaza sans Gazans but not saying it.
Bibi is not standing strong again.
He is trying t manage the problem rather than end the problem..
Shas chairman says he believes Lapid and Liberman will ultimately join the government, just as Gantz did.
Shas chairman MK Aryeh Deri spoke about the war in an interview with Channel 12 News on Tuesday evening and stated that, in his opinion, the government and the defense establishment both failed.

The 234-188 tally comes after 22 Democrats joined with Republicans to censure Tlaib, a punishment one step below expulsion from the House.

Remarkably, Hamas has posted a video of what appears to be the same attack from the vantage point of fighters moving across a sandy beach towards the Israelis.

Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Gharaei Ashtiani said in a November 5, 2023 video posted on SNN.ir (Iran) that the Americans are worried and wish to save themselves and the “usurping Zionist regime.” He continued to say that Iran has always advised America against supporting Israel and that they must implement a ceasefire. Gharaei Ashtiani stated that America is pleading for Iran’s help to get out of the bind they have found themselves in.
