Saudi Arabia reportedly warned Iran on Saturday against further attacks on Saudi soil, unnamed diplomatic sources revealed.
The kingdom, which downed nine Iranian drones, signaled that it prefers a diplomatic solution to the Iranian attacks on its Gulf Arab neighbors following the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran that began on Feb. 28. However, Saudi officials warned that the country would respond militarily to continued Iranian attacks, especially if they targeted Saudi Arabia’s critically important energy sector.

In the face of the current war on Iran, Turkey has been unusually quiet. Beyond calling for an immediate end to the war, along with China and Russia, it intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile over its territory on March 4, and merely echoed unavailing calls for “diplomacy” rather than joining in the long-overdue strike on Iran aimed at crippling its advanced military capabilities. Over the last few days, the name of Muhammad Baqr Qalibaf, the former mayor of Tehran, keeps bubbling up as some sort of “Delcy Rodriguez” type figure, namely a relatively “moderate” regime figure with whom we might be able to do business were the government to fall to his control. There are several fallacies being bruited about concerning the defensive war of the US and Israeli against Iran. Make no mistake about it; this is indeed a defensive war. Both the Big Satan and the Little Satan have been threatened not over the years but rather the decades. There have been incessant calls for “Death to the U.S.” and “Death to the Zionist ‘Entity.’” This is defense, not offense. Every attendee at all basketball games full well knows the difference between the two. Too bad it has escaped antisemites the world over.
