Nearly a year old, NATO’s proxy war on Russia in Ukraine looks set to only intensify in the coming year as the West-backed Kiev Putsch regime is now completely reliant on the US and other NATO states for arms, ammunition, funding, training, intelligence, C4ISR, sending thousands of mercenaries, special forces and commandos , and even military planning and wargaming out its military strategy. Over two years after saying it would normalize ties with Israel, Sudan is finally set to officially join the US-brokered Abraham Accords, an Israeli official told Hebrew-language media Wednesday.
The reports, which could not be verified, mark the latest twist in an ongoing saga that has seen Khartoum’s halting steps toward forging diplomatic relations with Israel stymied by ongoing political instability in the African nation, including a 2021 military coup.

Secretary Blinken’s January 29-31, 2023 visit to Egypt, Israel and the Palestinian Authority was another one of his milestones, well-intentioned – but erroneous – Middle East legacies. It has backfired on vital US interests, in general, and the pursuit of regional stability and peace, in particular.

T. Belman. The interviewee is a Muslim who went from the US where he lived to Iran to participate in the Islamic revolution in Iran. He had nothing negative to say about Iran or its politics. That turned me off.
What he describes is an alternate universe.
The State on Wednesday asked the Supreme Court for another four-month delay to submit its response on the issue of the illegal Bedouin outpost of Kahn al-Ahmar.
This is the ninth time in a row the state has asked the court for a delay on the issue of Khan al-Ahmar.
For the first time since the Institute for National Security Studies started publishing its annual INSS 2022 Strategic Survey, the special and strategic relationship with the US features as the most critical challenge for Israel.
This relationship is key for Israel’s security doctrine. Some voices want to cast doubt as to Israel’s dependency on its ties with America, suggesting it should explore various alternatives. But the INSS has made it clear: There is no substitute for the US, not in terms of security nor in diplomatic backing. Likewise, no one can replace the US when it comes to the shared values of the two countries.

The government’s proposals to radically overhaul the legal and judicial system have generated intense political tensions and a fervid opposition movement since they were announced earlier this month.
Among the most controversial aspects of the proposals are amendments to the Basic Law: Judiciary that would severely limit the High Court of Justice’s power of judicial review over legislation, and allow the Knesset to re-legislate laws if the court strikes them down.

But something else is happening that may work in Israel’s favor, and indeed in favor of all those around the world who oppose terrorism and the Iranian regime that sponsors it: The Iranians have made what may be a fatal mistake. They have openly joined forces with Russian President Vladimir Putin in his war on Ukraine, providing him with military equipment such as drones.

The subordinate status of Jews and other “people of the book” in Sharia states is based on the Qur’an: “Fight against those do not believe in Allah or the last day, and do not forbid what Allah and his messenger have forbidden, and do not follow the religion of truth, even if they are among the people of the book, until they pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.” (9:29)
In a trailblazing decision less than a week ago, Trudeau announced new “special representative to combat ‘Islamophobia,’” Amira Elghawaby. Her office will have a budget of $5,6000,000, according to spokesperson from the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, Ahmed Hussen. Trudeau said in a statement: “No one in our country should experience hatred because of their faith,” yet his statement refers only to “Islamophobia,” when it should include all faiths.
T. Belman. I drew the same conclusion yesterday “What’s in it for the US or the EU for that matter? Russia is no threat to them. The only reason they are doubling down is because they want to destroy Russia which has been their goal since the fall of the USSR.”

T. Belman. Lapid seems to think that because the US gives us so much money, they have a right to tell us how to run our country. i.e., that we are bought and paid for. What’s that got to do with democracy? Nothing.
Blinken said, “we have shared values and shared interests”. He is wrong on both accounts. The last thing Israelis want to do is emulate America, or create a Palestinian state.

Far-right National Missions Minister Orit Strock criticized US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday, a day after he signaled that the White House is clearly concerned over initiatives by Israel’s new hardline government.
“Dear Mr. Blinken, I understand that you decided to give our prime minister a lesson in democracy,” the Religious Zionism lawmaker tweeted.

(JNS) The American Declaration of Independence famously guarantees the right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
Over the last 250 years, people have tended to focus on “liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” but it is no coincidence that the phrase begins with the right to life.
The right to life is and should be paramount over all other considerations, because it is the basis of existence. In the current debate over potential reforms to Israel’s judicial system, this element has been glaringly absent.
T. Belman. Could it be that the malaise in Europe which is leading to the destruction of its culture and identity, is a result of Europe’s failed attempt to destroy the Jews. Instead of replacing us as its replacement theology willed, the end result is that the Jews have survived and prospered. The Church it appears has nothing more to live for.
Throughout the West, from foolish America to senescent Europe, the two pillars that have always supported civilizations are collapsing: faith and fertility, the fact of believing in something rather than nothing and of having a sufficient number of children to keep the civilization alive.
