Far too many pro-Israel organizations and writers marked the 50th anniversary of the U.N. General Assembly vote to adopt Resolution 3379, which stated that Zionism “is a form of racism and racial discrimination,” by showcasing the efforts that the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations when the resolution was passed, made to work against it. While Moynihan was right in saying that “it is a lie which the United Nations has now declared to be a truth—and so the actual truth must be restated,” the United Nations still is an extremely anti-Israel institution.
Peloni: In a near unanimous vote, the UN Security Council voted in favor of the US proposed resolution which indicates support for the creation of a second Palestinian state to be carved from land which was intended to be included in the Jewish Homeland over a century ago by the Allied Supreme powers at the end of WWI. While the Palestinians have consistently differed with their Western supporters in having any aspirations of a state alongside the Jewish state over the past many decades, Western determination to serve up such a vehicle of Israel’s devastation has seemingly remained un-phased by these facts. In the wake of the celebrations of Palestinians participating in the October 7 massacre, not to mention the joy with which Gazan crowds beat living and dead Jewish captives as they were dragged into the dungeons of Gaza, the support for the Trump administration to pretend that their efforts today will result in any peaceful resolution is either coldly mendacious or inexplicably naive.

Peloni: Erin talks with Jonathan Conricus – Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) and former IDF international spokesperson – about the US push for creating a second Palestinian state. Conricus explains that Qatar and Turkey represent the interests of the Muslim Brotherhood and are pushing the Trump administration to support the creation of a new terror state on Israel’s border despite the example of October 7 being the purpose and eventuality of doing so. As Conricus correctly notes, supporting the Muslim Brotherhood against Israel supports the Muslim Brotherhood’s efforts to spread their Sharia conquest across the world.

Several years ago, my husband Steve and I were watching TV as an American politician of Hispanic descent responded to a challenging question by an antagonistic reporter.

Recent months have witnessed an unusual phenomenon: rabbis from across the Jewish denominational spectrum, including Reform, Conservative, and even Orthodox leaders, publicly criticizing aspects of Israel’s military operations in Gaza. At a time when Israel faced, still faces, existential threats on multiple fronts, this religious dissent demands examination.
The criticism has been substantial. Eighty Orthodox rabbis recently declared: “We affirm that Hamas’s sins and crimes do not relieve the government of Israel of its obligations to make whatever efforts are necessary to prevent mass starvation. Orthodox Jewry, as some of Israel’s most devoted supporters, bears a unique moral responsibility.”
Peloni: It would appear that the Trump administration is attempting to try to outdistance the betrayal of the Jewish people made by the British when they arbitrarily created the first Arab Palestinian state over a century ago, thus violating the mandate granted to them by the Supreme powers. Now, today, the Trump administration, going against the interest and support of the Israeli govt, are acting against the authority and mandate they themselves created in the 20 Point Plan, thus pursuing an altogether new set of parameters which includes the formation from whole cloth of a second Arab Palestinian state under the control of Hamas and/or the PA, ignoring the fact that both Hamas and the PA are institutionally committed to the destruction of the Jewish state. The Trump administration’s commitment to double down on declaring “Peace In Our Times” comes at a cost for which only Israel will have to pay the Butcher’s Bill. This contemptible charade, which only serves to mask an intent to permit further October 7 slaughters, must be entirely rejected.
Janet Levy: While Trump’s initial 20-Point “Peace” Plan called for deploying hostile foreign troops between Israel and Hamas, the latest U.S.-sponsored U.N. resolution goes even further. It mandates a “ceasefire” between Israel and the Palestinians, regardless of Hamas violations. Additionally, it removes consequences for diverting and stealing aid.
The resolution in question offers a route to Palestinian sovereignty that is unconditional, provided the P.A. takes “credible steps toward self-determination and statehood.” It does not rely on negotiations between the parties but instead acts as a “one-sided” agreement that Israel is expected to uphold. The new plan essentially forces Palestinian statehood on Israel and sets clear standards and timelines for the IDF’s withdrawal from Gaza.
This essentially means the external determination of Israel’s security and future without its input and places the country directly under the supervision of the U.N. Security Council.
