EuroPride organizers plan to press on with parade despite pushback
Thousands of Orthodox Christians marched in Belgrade Sunday to warn against holding EuroPride, despite the Serbian authorities’ decision to cancel the pan-European gathering of the LGBTQ community next month.

Laith Marouf is a Lebanese man living in Canada who has been working as an “anti-racism” consultant for the Community Media Advocacy Center (CMAC) on a project funded by the government of Canada. His antisemitic and racist tweets have now been exposed; they make for instructive reading. As a result, the Canadian government initially asked that the government-funded agency Canadian Heritage, that has been financing CMAC, look into his behavior and the suitability of his continued employment as a CMAC consultant. The government itself then decided – needing no further investigation — to end its relationship with CMAC and to shut down its “anti-racism project.”

While there is no love lost between former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly and me, I would be the first to dispute Jared Kushner’s ridiculous claim that Kelly would ever shove a woman, much less the president’s daughter, Ivanka Trump. The grimmer truth here is that Jared and Ivanka did everything within their considerable Javanka powers to neuter a man 25.8.22who, even in the best of circumstances, would have had a tough time excelling in a job that required far more finesse and intelligence than brute force.
That was one of my main beefs with Javanka. It did not matter who was chief of staff. If these two spoiled scions did not get exactly what they wanted in the West Wing during the day, they went straight to the East Wing during the evening to lobby their patriarch.
While the number 61 is Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud’s dream figure, it could spell a nightmare for the smaller parties on the right if the former prime minister decides to form a government with Gantz.

This has been the $64 million question for the past three years, and now, just as in the previous rounds of elections, nobody knows the answer.

On the 23rd of August, the Israeli authorities allowed Palestinian passengers to travel from the West Bank to Cyprus via Ramon International Airport which is near Eilat, in Israel.. This is a pilot program to see if such procedure could be expanded and sustained. For the Palestinians, it is also a drastic change from the regularly horrendous travel route over land to cross the border to Jordan and then on to Amman International Airport where treatment of Palestinian passengers in particular is said to be very poor.
A look at Palestinian social media proves beyond a doubt that the Palestinians are happy with the idea of travelling via Ramon Airport. It gives them an unexpected freedom.

In an outrageous display of moral vacancy, the Presbyterian Church (USA) recently labelled Israel an apartheid state – despite an abundance of evidence and legal precedent to the contrary. Though mainline protestant churches have grown increasingly hostile toward Israel based on false claims of human rights abuses and a disregard for Jewish history, their condemnations are simply modern iterations of the same doctrinal prejudice used to demean Jews and Judaism for two millennia. Their anti-Israel bias is vile but historically consistent, and it raises the issue of how progressive rabbis can sit with liberal activist clergy who promote hoary antisemitic myths wrapped in the language of human rights advocacy.
