GAZA STRIP — The Palestinian Ministry of Transportation has threatened to take punitive measures against Palestinians who use Ramon Airport in southern Israel for travel, with the first flight for Palestinians scheduled through the airport to Turkey before the end of August.

Palestinian Transportation Minister Assem Salem confirmed during a radio interview on Aug. 16 that he will raise some suggestions and measures that can deter Palestinians from traveling through Ramon Airport, noting that there is no contact between the Palestinian government and Israel regarding Palestinian travel through the airport.

The Biden administration is on the verge of closing its long-sought for nuclear agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Europeans distributed a “final draft” of an agreement to the Americans and the Iranians last week. While the text was billed as a “take it or leave it” offer, neither the Europeans nor the Americans walked away after Iran returned with reservations. Instead, President Joe Biden and his advisers are avidly looking into Iran’s positions and are reportedly trying to incorporate them into the agreement, which will likely be concluded quickly, if only the Iranians will agree.

Back in 2015, news that the Obama-Biden administration was closing in on a final draft of what became its nuclear deal with Iran provoked a mass public outcry. The majority of Americans opposed the deal. Many key Democrats opposed it. The entire Republican Party opposed it. News of the deal was greeted by mass protests in Washington, New York and countrywide.

Was anyone surprised by the contemptible remarks by Mahmoud Abbas, the declining heir to Yasser Arafat and the former grand mufti of Jerusalem, about “Holocausts” that Israel is supposedly perpetrating? He has been caught up in a pathological stance on the Holocaust ever since he was a doctoral student.

This is his legacy – the slaughter of 11 Israeli athletes in Munich in 1972, for which he was responsible and holds to even now, the mufti’s plan to annihilate Jews in the Dotan Valley, the barbaric slaughter in Hebron in 1929. This should teach us about the nature of the conflict – there is no need to “solve” it, because it is not solvable. We need to win it.

The Washington Post reported that unemployment benefits of an estimated $163 billion were paid to undeserving individuals due to either error or fraud.

In the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program, around $58 billion was paid to companies that shared the same addresses, phone numbers, bank accounts, or other data as other applicants — a clear indication of fraud.

The right-wing Religious Zionism party is set to hold its first-ever primary on Tuesday, with its 24,000 registered members having a chance to determine the makeup of its Knesset slate by choosing from a lineup of candidates ranging from mainline nationalists to ultra-conservative extremists.

Party leader Bezalel Smotrich has called a primary in hopes that Religious Zionism can draw in more religiously liberal voices that will vie for the votes being hemorrhaged from the crumbling Yamina party. Party sources say the chief fight will be between those on the more moderate end of the far-right spectrum and those on the more extreme right.

Jerusalem is the united capital of Israel, Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Monday morning as he pushed back at former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who attacked him on social media over the past day for his previously announced stance.

U.S. government officials have not presented sufficient evidence to keep a key document related to the search warrant executed at former President Donald Trump’s home shielded from the public, a federal judge ruled on Aug. 22.

U.S. officials have claimed that an affidavit, which convinced U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart to approve the warrant, needs extensive redactions to protect FBI agents and witnesses, as well as the ongoing investigation into Trump.

The redactions would leave “very little—nothing of substance,” Jay Bratt, chief of the Department of Justice’s Counterintelligence and Export Control Section, told Reinhart during a recent hearing.

I watched the first 20 minutes and the last 20 minutes of the 80 minute interview.

I was not happy with what Jeremy said. He double down on what Shaked and Hendler have said.

He reiterated that ZS wants a National Unity government. He believes that’s the best thing for Israel because it balances extremes. He wants right wing policies,  left wing democracy and security. In a press conference on Sunday, Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked and Communications Minister Yoaz Hendel announced that Amitai Porat, a member of the Religious-Zionist community who until recently served as the CEO of the Religious Kibbutz Movement, will be joining the ranks of their Zionist Spirit party.

Porat is the son of the late Rabbi Hanan Porat, one of the rejuvenators of Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria. Porat will be in third place on the party’s list in the upcoming elections, after Shaked and Hendel.

Personal information of 56 million voters shared

You shouldn’t be able to vote after you die.

When someone moves or dies, they should be removed from the registered voters’ roll so their name can’t be used to vote. In fact, the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993 requires states to make a reasonable effort to remove ineligible persons from voter rolls.

It is usually handled at the county or state level, but today, 33 states and Washington, D.C., are outsourcing parts of this task to the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC).
