Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has yielded to American pressure. He has agreed to let the 200 Hamas fighters still in tunnels under Rafah, on the east side of the Yellow Line that demarcates where the IDF and Hamas forces in Gaza are in control, to go free. It’s a terrible concession on the part of the Israelis, who had earlier been determined to wipe out all the Hamas fighters who had been in tunnels to the east of the Yellow Line, terrorists who now will be allowed not just to escape being killed by the IDF, that had them trapped in those tunnels, but Israel has apparently agreed as well that it will not even hold them as prisoners.

Carlson is carving out a niche of control on the American Right, even as he is doing so using tactics and subjects better assigned to the Left. Americans need to gain an awareness of what Carlson is doing and decide if the second coming of Father Coughlin will fair better in the modern age than it did in the 1930’s.

Peloni: In a land where everything is justiciable, there can be no real power but that of the leadership dressed in black robes. In such a world of tumult and arbitrary rule, the judges’ gavel of one overpowers and out distances the votes of millions. Such insanity has ruled Israel into a point of insecurity, deep divisions, and insanity, and yet it is often, too often actually, described as the envy of the world. The world should take a close look at the consequences of rule by arbitration, and take note that Israel will one day find itself at a crossroads where the arbitrary power afforded to opinions whose authority is due to their black robed dressings is far too great a challenge to the interest of the Jewish state. What comes after that tipping point may be a return to rational governance, as described and chosen by the people whose dignity and independence is daily assaulted by bench decrees in some of the most significant and arbitrary aspects of life in Israel.

Ben Shapiro has spent his career defending the very movement now turning against him.
Peloni: Some things need to be clarified in all of this. Ben Shapiro has not been an advocate of Trump’s full vision for America, and he came to support Trump in spite of most of his policies rather than being a forward advocate in support of them. However, with regards to Trump’s Israel policy, Shapiro has been a constant supporter, even during times in which he had divorced himself from supporting Trump, which I believe has officially occurred at least twice. Yet, the very thing for which the anti-MAGA crowd are attacking Shapiro is the very issue upon which he and Trump agree most soundly. In fact the nuances of this reality is what makes the description of Carlson and his allies being termed ‘anti-MAGA’ far more accurate than terms such as ‘Far Right’, which is a complete misnomer, and ‘Woke Right’, which also misses the mark entirely. The anti-MAGA crowd intend to split the most philosophic movement in US history on the very basis of it support for Israel and Jews, leaving supporters of Israel, ie Christian & Jewish Zionists like Trump and Shapiro, on one side, with Carlson and his anti-MAGA, Islamist friendly, allies on the other. A lot of Trump supporters will vividly recall Shapiro’s opposition of Trump’s policies to include issues of Ukraine to trade to Trump’s persona. While none of this is relevant to the debate being twisted against Shapiro today by the Anti-MAGA clique, it is all quite relevant in what is playing out on social media. Yet, Avi is quite correct when he states, “Ben Shapiro’s ordeal is not just his fight. It’s the fight for America,” leaving the choice for MAGA to be between Shapiro and the anti-MAGA clique, with perhaps too much animus towards the former and far too little animus towards the latter.

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, recently posted on X that the U.S. bombing campaign in June did not obliterate Iran’s nuclear facilities, as President Trump has repeatedly claimed. “In your dreams!” the 86-year-old wrote. The exact nature of the damage, which experts continue to debate and most say is significant, is not the most critical element at play. Most important is that the Iranian leader continues to portray the war as a victory and refuses to return to the negotiating table.

Peloni: Settler Violence is Based on Biased Reporting – Check the Sources. In all things, sources matter. When news reports of ‘Jewish settler violence’ are only supported by the Palestinian Authority, or Hamas, or Islamic Jihad or Iran, they must be accepted to be blood libels until proven otherwise. It seems nonsensical to have to make such a statement out loud, and yet, as Yishai demonstrates quite admirably here, it is once again necessary to do so.
