The US and the West Fund the Jihadists. Really?

By Steve Kramer    JAN 10, 2022,

The West abhors terror attacks for good reason, whether in their country or an ally. Except when it comes to Israel. Not having learned the lesson that Islamist terror doesn’t abide by any type of agreement, the US and the West still think that they can buy off terrorists. They can’t, as experience has proven. But when it comes to Israel, not a problem. In fact, these countries fund it, knowing and unknowingly! And those who don’t, spend other people’s money to have the United Nations and other Israel haters do it for them. In fact, the US pays more than 20% of the UN budget, an organization that has chosen Israel as the worst country in the world, or at least the worst that it pays attention to.

In 2021, the General Assembly of UN passed 14 resolutions against Israel. The number of resolutions passed against all the other member states totaled 5. In addition, the General Assembly recently passed an unlimited and open-ended probe of alleged war crimes against Israel, by a vote of 125 for, 8 against, and 34 abstentions. Its open season on Israel, all the time…

An Orthodox Rabbi Writes That People Are Basically Good — Judaism Is in Trouble

By Dennis Prager, PJ MEDIA JAN 11, 2022

In a Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 photo, a 300-year-old Torah scroll, center, stands next to two newer versions of the torah and was gifted to the University of Pittsburgh Hillel Jewish student organization at the Hillel Jewish University Center. The scroll was hidden during the Nazi Holocaust and was smuggled out of communist Poland, then served at New Castle congregation for decades until the synagogue’s closing. (Antonella Crescimbeni/Pittsburgh Post-Gazette via AP)

The Algemeiner, a Jewish publication I highly respect, published a column about Judaism that is not merely wrong; it actually advances a thesis that is the opposite of what Judaism teaches. That fact alone would not have prompted me to write a rebuttal. What prompts me is that the column was written by an Orthodox rabbi. It is sad enough that many non-Orthodox rabbis have been influenced more by their secular/Left educations than by the Torah. But when a rabbi identified as “centrist Orthodox” distorts one of the most important and normative ideas in Judaism, and is published in a major Jewish journal, we might be in trouble. Of course, he might be an outlier. But I don’t think he is unique. Though certainly not yet dominant, secular values have entered parts of modern Orthodox life just as they have traditional Catholic and Protestant Christian life.

Two brilliant doctors explain what’s really going on with COVID

By Terry Paulding, AM THINKER   Jan 5/22

I’ve just completed a marathon of listening to six hours of Joe Rogan interviewing two doctors — first Peter McCullough, then Robert Malone.  Both, uncensored on Gettr and Spotify, are worth your time.  Listening certainly furthered my education.

The two doctors collaborate and are friends, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few contradictions between them.  Dr. McCullough said Moronic (AKA omicron) is only four times more contagious than alpha was, but Dr. Malone said omicron is much more contagious.

Also, at Dr. McCullough’s request, Dr. Malone corrected Dr. McCullough’s statement that one can’t get the virus more than once.  Apparently, they’ve been finding that, while people who had alpha didn’t get delta, omicron is sufficiently different in its structure that it’s infecting even those who’ve had COVID previously.  The good news is that, symptomatically, it’s still not much worse than a cold, and yeah, it will provide antibodies that will keep you from getting COVID again, or so it seems.

Israel to begin classifying non-Arab gentile citizens as ‘extended Jewish’

Change by statistics bureau to affect over 400,000 Israelis, most of them Russian-speakers not defined as Jewish and non-Arab Christians, who were previously categorized as ‘other’

By Tal Schneider, TOI         10 January 2022, 7:25 pm

Changes to Israel’s census bureau means that citizens will only be classified as Jews or Arabs, with all non-Jews who are not Arab being counted under a new “extended Jewish population” rubric.

The change will see the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) eliminate the separate category of “others” in official publications on demographics, after a request from a Yesh Atid minister who worried the word could put off those included in it.

The “extended Jewish” category will include any citizen who is not Arab and not Jewish according to Jewish religious law. The CBS said it would also classify groups that are neither culturally Jewish nor Arab in the “extended” category.

In Talks on Ukraine, U.S. and Russia Deadlock Over NATO Expansion

Both sides expressed some optimism after negotiations in Geneva, but did not break an impasse over Russia’s demand that Ukraine never become a member of NATO.

GENEVA — The United States and Russia emerged from seven hours of urgent negotiations on Monday staking out seemingly irreconcilable positions on the future of the NATO alliance and the deployment of troops and weapons in Eastern Europe, keeping tensions high amid fears of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei A. Ryabkov, Russia’s lead negotiator, insisted after the meeting that it was “absolutely mandatory” that Ukraine “never, never, ever” become a NATO member.

Obsessed with Israeli settlements, Americans and Europeans turn blind eye to Palestinian violence

“Instead of focusing on all the obstacles and identifying the most important ones, they are singling out the settlement issue and defining it as the most critical,” says Professor Eytan Gilboa of Bar-Ilan University and a senior fellow at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security.

By Israel Kasnett

The United States and some European nations continue to demonstrate an obsession with Israeli “settlements” and isolated incidents by small groups of radical right-wing Israelis, mostly wayward youths, while completely ignoring the much larger issue of Palestinian violence, incitement and terrorism.

This obsession was made even clearer during a routine meeting several weeks ago at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs between diplomats and ambassadors from 16 European countries and Aliza Bin Noun, the director of the European Affairs Department.

“The Massacre That Never Was”

A recently published book offers a new take on a pivotal battle and an intentional mistruth that changed the course of history forever

By Daniel Gordis

The first time I ever heard of the Deir Yassin massacre I was in high school, attending a program at Young Judea, the Zionist youth group. As a means of provoking discussion about I’m-not-sure-what, the person leading the program told us about Deir Yassin, about how during the War of Independence, Israeli troops had entered the village and massacred dozens of Palestinians there.

I have no recollection of the discussion that followed. What I do remember is being almost dizzy—sickened by what he said had happened, and even more, entirely confused:

How was it that I’d never even heard of Deir Yassin until then?

If anything, the pendulum has since swung to the other extreme. If decades ago, it was the rare Jewish educational setting that would mention Deir Yassin, today precisely the opposite is the case: everyone talks about Deir Yassin, even if they have little idea of what actually transpired.

The Electricity Law: Who knew, and who should have known better?

There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Electricity Law is bad legislation passed by a bad legislative process.

By Naomi Kahn, Regavim

Illegal Negev structureRegavim

(JNS) Last week, following stormy committee debates, application of highly unusual parliamentary rules, dismissal of the Knesset Legal Counsel’s explicit and adamant recommendations, and a confrontational plenum session resulting in one of the most unusual votes ever conducted on the Knesset floor, the Israeli parliament passed legislation sponsored by the Ra’am Party that will allow connection of unlicensed structures to national electricity, water and gas systems.

Part XII: The Fall of France, Nazi Germany conquer the City of Lights

By Alex Grobman PhD. – 7 Shevat 5782 – January 9, 2022

*Editor’s Note: This is part XII in a series from Dr. Grobman. You can read Part XI, here

The Fall of France

After the French surrendered to Germany in June 1940, there were approximately 350,000 Jews in the country, over half of whom were stateless according to Yad Vashem. Jews who were not French citizens, stateless or citizens of countries at war with France were interred in a number of different camps in either the central or southern region of the country according to the American Jewish Committee’s American Jewish Year Book (AJY). In October 1940, the Germans deported 7,500 German Jews who were expelled from the German province of Baden and the Palatinate, and were among 14,00O in the Gurs prison camp in southern France, in the area controlled by the collaborationist French Vichy regime. They arrived at Gurs as communities along with their religious and social leaders, where they were forced to live under the most distressing settings.

Is it antisemitic to compare the policies of Covid with the policies of  Nazi Germany?

By Diane Bederman

It’s a very small group of people, but that doesn’t shy away from the fact that they take up some space. This leads us, as a leader and as a country, to make a choice: Do we tolerate these people? PM Justin Trudeau

Is it antisemitic to compare the policies of Covid with the policies of Nazi Germany?

I put it to you that it is antisemitic not to compare the two. It means we have forgotten the lessons we were to have learned from the Nuremberg Trials. Trials that were the result of Nazi policies that had led to the eradication of 6 million Jews, and gay and mentally and physically disabled Germans, because they did not fit the German paradigm. The trials exposed the abuse of medicine by evil doctors, like Mengele, which led to the Nuremberg Code, forbidding coercive medical measures, and the Nuremberg Defense which gives one the right and obligation to refuse to follow immoral and unethical orders; no matter who gives the order.

Our Strategy – or Theirs?

by Victor Rosenthal     Jan 9, 2022

In the context of Israel’s security situation, somebody recently told me to be more cheerful, because there have been worse times.

Leaving aside the question (which my wife would answer in the negative) of whether I am capable of cheerfulness, of course there have been worse times. Israel lost 1% of her population in the War of Independence. The country was on the brink of destruction on Yom Kippur of 1973. During the period of austerity in the 1950s (the tzena) food and other necessities were rationed and many things were unavailable. During the Second Intifada, bombs were exploding on buses and in restaurants every few days. These were, in an obvious sense, worse times.

America will not leave the Middle East

By Robert Ford  Jumada al-Akhirah

Former US ambassador to Syria and Algeria and researcher at the Middle East Institute in Washington<
>
In the year that went by 2021, I saw many people claiming that the United States would abandon the Middle East. These are superficial expectations. The United States is based in the Middle East, wrote analyst Dalia Kay of the University of California-Los Angeles in Foreign Affairs last month.

The administration of President Joe Biden completed a major review of US military deployments around the world in November. As expected, the study concluded that China is the biggest strategic challenge, but as analyst Rebecca Wasser wrote in the strategic website War on the Rocks in December, the aforementioned review did not call for any major changes in the deployment of US forces in Middle east.
