Last week’s fleeting, yet existential diplomatic crisis with Jordan reflects the changing nature of relations between Jerusalem and Amman in the era of the Abraham Accords.

According to media reports in Israel and the US, last Thursday, Israel’s ties with Jordan stood on the brink of the abyss. But then, five to 10 minutes passed and everything went back to normal.

Last week’s fleeting, yet existential crisis of relations with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan disappeared without a trace. But before we forget all about it, it is important to consider what happened in some depth. Doing so will help us to understand the nature of Israel’s relations with Jordan in the era of the Abraham Accords, which all but ended the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Two events fomented the crisis. First, last Wednesday Jordanian Crown Prince Hussein was supposed to visit the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Arrangements for the visit, including those related to Hussein’s security detail were assiduously discussed and agreed upon by Israeli and Jordanian officials ahead of time. But as became clear when Hussein and his entourage arrived at the Allenby Bridge Crossing to enter Israel, the Jordanians decided to ignore the agreements. Hussein was accompanied by a personal security force much larger and better armed than anything Israel had agreed to.

On March 15, 2021, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting with the head of the Hizbullah parliamentary faction Muhammad R’ad. The Russian Foreign Ministry laconically announced “We confirm the fact of the meeting”[1] At the meeting, Lavrov told R’ad that Russia backed the speedy formation of a Lebanese government under Rafiq Al-Hariri as well the return of refugees to Syria, many of whom are in Lebanon .[2]

Russia has taken note of the tenth anniversary of the Syrian fighting. and the Duma Defense Committee announced that 112 Russian soldiers had died since Russia launched its military operation in Syria on September 30, 2015.[3] Russia would like to see a political settlement in Syria that would ratify the success of this military mission. Part of attempts to accelerate a political process in Syria was the formation of a new format comprised of Russia-Turkey and Qatar. During Lavrov’s March 10 visit to Doha, he was joined the next day by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. On March 11, Lavrov held talks with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. Later, the foreign affairs ministers of Russia, Turkey and Qatar had a meeting following which they announced:  “Russia, Turkey and Qatar also expressed their intention to actively participate in international efforts aimed to ensure the secure and voluntary return of Syrian refugees and internally displaced people to their homes.” [4]

With the Biden administration having re-empowered Palestinian aggressors against Israel, Kushner has shown that he doesn’t grasp the significance of what he helped achieve with the Abraham Accords.

(JNS) Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of President Donald Trump, was a senior foreign-policy adviser in the Trump administration. Now an op-ed by Kushner published in The Wall Street Journal has caused jaws to drop.

Kushner was a key mover behind the Abraham Accords between Israel and the Gulf States. This agreement, brokered by Trump, was the most significant move towards peace in the Middle East for the best part of a century.

In parallel, Trump’s U.S. withdrawal in May 2018 from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, coupled with the re-imposition of sanctions and more severe ones later added, was gradually bringing the fanatical and genocidal Iranian regime to its knees.

Michigan, Wisconsin and Virginia court actions show some absentee ballot procedures imposed by Democrats violated state laws.

Long after former President Donald Trump dropped his legal challenges to the 2020 election, some courts in battleground states are beginning to declare the way widespread absentee ballots were implemented or counted violated state laws. The latest ruling came this month in Michigan, where the State Court of Claims concluded that Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s instructions on signature verification for absentee ballots violated state law.

Benson had instructed local election clerks a month before the Nov. 3 election to start with a “presumption” that all signatures on absentee ballots were valid and only reject those that had “multiple significant and obvious” inconsistencies. Republicans and one election clerk challenged her instructions in court.

Rasmussen Reports published a new survey on Wednesday showing that 75 percent of Americans favor voter ID laws, including 60 percent of Democrats and 89 percent of Republicans.

The poll revealed that three out of four likely American voters believe a photo ID should be needed—such as a driver’s license—before being permitted to vote. A bulk of unaffiliated voters, 77 percent, also showed support for voter ID requirements.

Support for voter ID laws across ethnicities stayed high: 74 percent of whites, 69 percent of blacks, and 82 percent of other minorities said they were in support of requiring voter ID.

As US President Joe Biden stirs up a controversy stating that he does think that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a ‘killer’ taking relations with Moscow to an unprecedented low, Israel, miffed with Biden’s Middle East policy, has hinted that it has no qualms against stepping up its ties with Russia and supporting Moscow’s role in the Middle East.

Israel has made no secret of the fact that it is dead-opposed to the idea of the U.S. leading a global effort to resuscitate the Joint Comprehensive Plan or Action (JCPOA), or what is commonly referred to as the Iran Nuclear Deal. Joe Biden, who happens to be the U.S. President, has made it a priority to re-enter the nuclear deal, in order to eternalize the disastrous foreign policy legacy of his godfather – Barack Obama. Now, Israel, seeing that the U.S. has left it high and dry, has begun cosying up to Russia, and Joe Biden has nobody but himself to blame for the setback the U.S. is about to receive in the Middle East.

The Biden administration will reportedly push for a two-state solution based on the pre-1967 lines, with mutually agreed upon land swaps, reinstating US policy on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to more traditionally held positions than those of former president Donald Trump.

A memo titled “The US Palestinian Reset and the Path Forward,” which was revealed Wednesday to the Abu Dhabi-based The National, also showed that the Biden administration is planning on announcing a $15 million aid package in coronavirus-related humanitarian assistance for the Palestinians as early as this month. A Michigan judge went a long way to validating one of the key claims made by the Trump campaign’s post-election legal challenges when he ruled last week that a state official broke the law by unilaterally changing regulations regarding mail-in voting.

According to Breitbart, Michigan Court of Claims Chief Judge Christopher Murray ruled Democrat Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson broke the state’s Administrative Procedures Act when she issued “guidance” regarding how absentee ballots were to be evaluated “because the guidance issued by the Secretary of State on October 6, 2020, with respect to signature matching standards was issued in violation of the Administrative Procedures Act (APA).”

T. Belman. My constant position has been that the US should maintain control of Syria east of the Euphrates along with its oil supplies.  And that she should work in conjunction with their Kurdish allies.

Spencer attributes this influx to the need/desire to enable the military/industrial complex to make money.  I think something else is afoot.

Biden is clearly targeting Russia when he blames it for interfering in the 2020 elections.  He does this to legitimize his victory and to deflect from his fraud.  He also does it to identify Russia as the enemy, not China.

Could this be the start of a move to oust Russia from Syria. That way The US could join Iran in taking over Syria to Israel’s detriment.

Are Dotty Old Joe’s handlers planning an American military misadventure in Syria? It wouldn’t be any surprise. Syria’s state-run Syrian Arab News Agency reported Sunday that “a new convoy of US occupation trucks loaded with logistic materials have entered Hasaka countryside via the illegal border crossings with northern Iraq to support the occupation’s bases in Hasaka countryside. Local sources in al-Khazna village told SANA reporter that a convoy, that includes 45 trucks loaded with boxes, military vehicles and fuel tankers, entered via al-Walid illegal border crossing with northern Iraq.”

Secretary of State Tony Blinken recently reasserted to Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi the Biden Administration’s support for the “Two-State Solution.” The report on the phone call is here.

It would be helpful if Israeli leaders pointed out to their American counterparts that the only sure keeper of the peace between Arabs and Israelis, the IDF, and that the retention of certain territories – including the Jordan Valley and the Golan – is essential to blocking traditional invasion routes from the north and from the east. If Blinken or Biden raise objections to this reliance on deterrence, and urge the Israelis to put their trust in treaties, they should be informed about the Treaty of Hudaibiyya and its continuing significance.
