Palestinian Authority ‘celebrated’ Passover with a blitz of illegal construction

REGAVIM

The Civil Administration knows precisely how the Israeli holidays and Jewish festivals will be celebrated in the Arab sector: large-scale illegal construction, including sites already under court-issued work-stop orders. Regavim: “This pattern repeats itself over each holiday, and the Israeli authorities continue to do nothing to prevent it.”

The tip of the iceberg: Illegal construction near Duma, during holiday recess

US lawmakers reintroduce bill to address hate, violence in Palestinian schools

The Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act (H.R. 2374) calls on the U.S. State Department to take a number of steps to monitor the Palestinian Authority curriculum.

By JNS

A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers has reintroduced a bill to require the U.S. State Department to address hate and violence in the Palestinian school curriculum.

The measure—the Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act (H.R. 2374)—was introduced by Reps. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.), Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.), David Trone (D-Md.) and Brian Mast (R-Fla.). It calls on the State Department to take a number of steps to monitor the Palestinian Authority educational curriculum, such as:

Has Biden already betrayed the trust of pro-Israel Democrats?

By Jonathan Tobin, JNS

A shift towards the Palestinians and anti-Israel international organizations, coupled with an ominous silence about a drift to Iran appeasement, are all recreating Obama’s “daylight” strategy.

It’s only been 11 weeks since Joe Biden was sworn in as president of the United States. With the president preoccupied with domestic politics and waging rhetorical warfare on his Republican opponents, it’s clear that foreign policy is a low priority for the new administration. And with Biden diving headfirst into partisan scrums—accusing Republicans of being racists with brazenly false accusations about a Georgia voting law and promoting an infrastructure bill that is more of a liberal project wish list than it is about rebuilding bridges and highways—there seems to be little space or oxygen left for a debate about his intentions abroad.

American corporate-funded Chinese Communism

By Cliff Kincaid, RENEW AMERICA

It seems strange to some that Major League Baseball (MLB) pulled its All-Star game out of Atlanta, to punish Georgia for its new voter ID law, but signed a deal with a Chinese company for rights to broadcast MLB games. It’s an indication that MLB recognizes China is in charge internationally, and that the Republicans’ days as a national political force in the United States are numbered. The MLB wants to help hammer the final nail into the coffin of the Republican Party. That means crushing free, honest, and fair elections, to make sure another Trump-like figure can never win a national election.

Former President Donald Trump thunders, “It is finally time for Republicans and Conservatives to fight back – we have more people than they do – by far! Boycott Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merck. Don’t go back to their products until they relent. We can play the game better than them.”

Jordan’s volatility is a wake-up call for the US

In the Middle East, violent regime change is the rule, not the exception.

By Yoram Ettinger, JNS

Jordan’s domestic upheaval involved some Arab countries, members of the royal Jordanian family and other prominent Bedouins, who were arrested and charged with an attempted regime change.

A regime-change in Jordan could transform the strategically-located country – between Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Israel – into another haven for Palestinian and Islamic terrorism. It would threaten the existence of the current regimes in Saudi Arabia, all other pro-US Gulf states and Egypt, advancing the interests of Iran’s Ayatollahs, Turkey’s Erdogan, the Muslim Brotherhood, China and Russia, while traumatizing regional stability and with dire Western and Israeli national security and economic consequences.

Palestinians: US Taxpayer Money Going to Terrorists

by Bassam Tawil, GATESTONE INSTITUTE  •  April 6, 2021

  • The memo, however, does not specifically say that the renewed US funding would be conditioned on ending the Palestinians’ “pay-to-slay” program. Instead, the Biden administration is only seeking a “commitment” from the Palestinian leadership to end the stipends.
  • It is likely that PA President Mahmoud Abbas may make such a “commitment” to the Biden administration. In reality, however, Abbas has announced over the past few years that he would never stop the payments to the imprisoned terrorists and the families of the “martyrs.”

Strained Saudi-US ties will likely bring Gulf kingdom closer to Israel

American-Saudi ties have been growing increasingly strained in recent months—a development that will likely see the Sunni power draw even closer to Jerusalem, Israeli observers have told JNS.

Professor Eyal Zisser, vice rector of Tel Aviv University and the holder of the Yona and Dina Ettinger Chair in Contemporary History of the Middle East, said that it appears as if relations between Washington and Riyadh are returning to the type of relationship the two countries had during the days of the Obama administration.

How the Transgender Movement is Destroying Feminism

By Phyllis Chesler, AM THINKER

In 2005, I published a book with the title The Death of Feminism. I saw it all coming. But I did not foresee the rise of a transgender movement.

On March 31st, an allegedly feminist Open Letter Supporting Trans Women and Girls, was circulated. Among other things, it stated that “We acknowledge with clarity and strength that transgender women are women and that transgender girls are girls. And we believe that honoring the diversity of women’s experiences is a strength, not a detriment to the feminist cause.”

Rivlin hands Netanyahu mandate to form coalition

Netanyahu received the majority of endorsements to form the next government, beating out Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid.

, JPOST

Rivlin speaks to MKs on April 5 2021.

President Reuven Rivlin gave Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the mandate to form a coalition on Tuesday morning, after the Likud leader received the most recommendations from his fellow members of Knesset.

In his speech, Rivlin lamented that he could not have imagined when he was elected seven years ago that he would appoint a candidate to form a government five times during his term. He said his main consideration must be who can best form a government that would receive the trust of the Knesset and that no candidate can currently obtain a majority of the Knesset.

Biden administration hindering Saudi-Israeli ties

In rewarding political Islamist ideologues, the enemies of peace and stability in the region, as well as simultaneously punishing America’s allies, the Biden administration’s recent decisions have sent dangerous signals.

By  Najat Al-Saied, ISRAEL HAYOM

In rewarding political Islamist ideologues, the enemies of peace and stability in the region, as well as simultaneously punishing America’s allies, the Biden administration’s recent decisions have sent dangerous signals.

For instance, on what basis did the Biden administration scramble to resume negotiations with Iran? What did the Iranian regime do for it to be rewarded with this kind of appeasement, while at the same time Biden’s administration freezes weapons sales to America’s allies, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, even though the latter has launched a historic peace process, the first “warm” peace with Israel in the region?

INTO THE FRAY: Because of Biden…Bibi

By MARTIN SHERMAN

Dispassionate analysis of the political deadlock in Israel will reveal that this state of suspended political animation is the result of nothing more than what the Jewish sages designated as “baseless hatred” among Jews.

…take for example the vaccinations. Today he [Netanyahu] holds a press conference and declares there are vaccines. 27 countries, in Europe alone, signed with Pfizer, and there are other countries like Australia—we are in 35th place [but] he holds a press conference and deceives the public. He [Netanyahu] claims that they will arrive in January. Maybe a box of 5 vaccines, at most, will arrive—the rest will arrive after all the other countries receive them…This is how to lose public trust by lying to the public on matters of life and death—Yair Lapid in How Yair Lapid become the Best PR for the Likud (Hebrew), Channel 12, November 13, 2020.

America Switches Sides

By Victor Rosenthal

The US is “recalibrating” its relationship with Saudi Arabia (read: withdrawing support in its struggle with Iran and its proxies). It has removed several Patriot antimissile batteries from the area, ended the permanent stationing of an aircraft carrier in the region, and eliminated surveillance systems that were operating there. It stopped providing arms for “offensive” Saudi operations in Yemen (the Saudis say they are defensive), and canceled the designation of the Houthi rebels in Yemen as a terrorist organization. The Iran-supported and controlled Houthis, in turn, have recently stepped up their attacks on Saudi Arabia, using Iranian drones and missiles. Last month, the Biden Administration also released a report about the murder of dissident Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi that accuses Saudi Crown Prince and de facto ruler Mohammed bin Salman of ordering the grisly affair.

A majority of the MKs who will be sworn in to the Knesset on Tuesday would vote for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be Israel’s next president, a senior Likud source close to Netanyahu told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.

By law, the election for president must be held between April 9 and June 9, before President Reuven Rivlin’s seven-year term expires on July 9. The politician closest to Netanyahu, Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin, will set the date for the vote in the Knesset, which must be held at least three weeks after the date is announced.

Endling Jew-hatred otherwise known as antisemitism – My conversation with Peter Beinart

By Brooke Goldstein, THE LAWFARE PROJECT.

On Sunday, March 21, I had the opportunity to reach across the political divide and participate in a dialogue with Peter Beinart, a Contributing Opinion Writer for The New York Times. Despite intense pushback from people demanding the event be canceled, we insisted on moving forward. Jewish unity in these partisan times is more important than ideological purity. The conversation was worth it. Despite our deep political differences, Peter and I were able to agree about the importance of fighting Jew-hatred as a civil rights issue in the United States. We created a space where two Jews who disagree strongly on the Middle East can agree on ending Jew-hatred. Racial justice for Jews is an issue entirely separate from the so-called Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The obsessive need to force Jews into debating a foreign conflict as a condition precedent to enforcing their civil rights is bigotry in and of itself. So, too, is the use of a foreign conflict to justify discrimination against Jewish people.

‘More Than 5,000 Chinese Troops Will Be Deployed In Iran, And A [Military] Base Will Be Built’

MEMRI, April 3, 2021:

On March 27, 2021, China and Iran signed an economic and security cooperation agreement according to which Beijing will invest $400 billion in Iran over the next 25 years. This is a far-reaching agreement that is certain to increase the Chinese strategic influence in the Middle East for decades to come.

Pakistani analysts are also watching how China’s new focus on Iran will influence Chinese investment in Pakistan. In a report, the Urdu daily Roznama Ummat tried to assess the impact of the Chinese agreement with Iran.

The report is titled: “The Deployment Of 5,000 Chinese Troops In Iran [is] Part Of The Agreement.” The Roznama Ummat report sees the deployment of 5,000 Chinese troops in Iran in positive terms for regional stability. Following is the text of the report.
