Clear-Eyed Grasp that Trump’s JCPOA is Worse than Obama’s JCPOA, and that they are both based on the same fundamental principles.

In an important article in Tablet, Trump’s JCPOA, Lee Smith examines President Trump’s nearing acceptance of an Iran agreement which increasingly and closely resembles the 2015 JCPOA which Trump long criticized as having been a betrayal of the American people by Obama. Smith explains that while the Trump administration assures the world that any deal he accepts will be stronger than the agreement adopted by Obama, the public arguments used to justify it – including assurances that it will be a “good deal or no deal” – mimics the same language employed by Obama administration officials when they were promoting the JCPOA. Smith additionally highlights unresolved questions regarding sanctions relief, frozen Iranian assets, and the handling of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles, emphasizing the lack of clarity of this deal resembles previous negotiations with Tehran.

The Two Britains
Peloni: Britain is caught in a trap in which the British hold a majority share in their country, but the power is more and more concentrated in the hands of those whose determination remains set to keep this majority quiet and quiescent, as if in anticipation of a Dhimmi future which has already been preetermined for them. Notably, a similar future to this is intended for America as well, but will America have what is needed to save itself from such a fate as Britain is facing, and in doing so, will it lead to Britain being saved as well?

On the same day, May 16, and at the same time, two rallies were held in London. One was Unite the Kingdom, a patriotic gathering of 60,000 marchers, who are alarmed at Muslim immigration transforming their country, worried about a decline in social cohesion, and furious that the government is making major decisions without consulting them. The other, and far smaller march of 20,000 people, was not about Britain at all, but about a faraway event that occurred more than 76 years ago: what the Arabs call the “Nakba” or catastrophe, which is how they describe the flight of Arabs from Mandatory Palestine, and then Israel, between the fall of 1947 and 1949.

Armed guards, panic buttons and fear: The new reality for Jewish worship in America
Peloni: The preference for American justice to bend towards political outcomes rather than apply the law equitably places an impossible burden upon the Jewish community. How can you possibly harden a minority community from harm in a nation in which harm to that community is not actually universally judged to be illegal. The restoration of equality before the law was what made life for Jews different from what was experienced across Europe and the rest of the world. It was this fulfillment of religious liberty which granted Jews their Golden Age in America, and the attempt to pretend that barricading the community behind guards metal detectors and security cameras is a poor substitute for the fulfillment of recognized freedom of religious expression. America has changed in great and terrible ways, and until that change is reversed, the best security measures money can buy will only ignore the fact that America is becoming more like Europe at an alarming and devastating pace…and of course, the full purpose of that change is first being weaponized against the Jews as the canary in the coal mine. If America is to survive, it must return to its cherished practice of exercised liberty and justice which made it the safehaven for Jews, but for Christians as well. No amount of money can possibly substitute for such a gold standard as this.

Just days after another wave of antisemitic threats and increasing security fears at Jewish places of worship across America, religious leaders descended on Capitol Hill this month with a blunt message for lawmakers: houses of worship are under siege and many congregations simply cannot afford to protect themselves alone. They need help…and financial assistance.
Rabbis, pastors, Muslim leaders and other religious and security officials spent the past week urging the U.S. Congress to significantly expand federal funding for synagogue, church and mosque protection. The vehicle for doing so is the Nonprofit Security Grant Program.

What Khaled Hassan’s Story Tells Us About Israel’s Struggle for Legitimacy
Peloni: As you read this, consider the relevant context which Hassan’s story holds for those Muslim leaders who are now faced with the dilemma of accepting Trump’s demands of joining the Abraham Accords or having to face the consequences of being left outside of any influence on the coming new world order. A society built upon 1400 years of rigid training to subjugate, slaughter and conquer the infidel is being required by the infidels to itself submit infidel demands of change, moderation and modernization. Is this doable? Some societies are already moving towards this outcome, but the pace of change has been tepid and cautious, and even now such things are never referenced in the same conversation as peace with Israel. Fatal Attraction: 50 Years Since Syria’s Intervention In Lebanon
Peloni: The time for Lebanon to be free of its foreign control is long past, but it has been long past for several decades. The question is who will free Lebanon from being chained as human chattel. Certainly, the Lebanese have shown no such capability to make is so and are instead intent upon waiting for some outside force to set them free. America could play such a role in affecting the freedom of Lebanon from the Iranian suzerainty held over it, but the possibility of this coming to fruition is uncertain. So we will see.

Small places are often at the mercy of powerful neighbors. So it was for centuries in the area which today belongs to the Lebanese Republic. The state itself and its borders were fashioned by the French in 1920 out of territory that the Ottoman Turks had themselves conquered three centuries earlier.

According to reports verified by the Israeli NGO Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), the PA’s Ministry of Finance recently disbursed grants to three “fighting sectors”. These “sectors” include terrorists held in Israeli facilities, those operating in various regions, and the relatives of deceased terrorists.
The PA’s choice to prioritize funding for violent terrorists, including those that targeted families and their children, over civil infrastructure demonstrates a systemic refusal to abandon terrorism says AFSI.

The Term and Its Meaning
The word “Nakba” is Arabic for “catastrophe.” For Palestinians and their supporters who have become conflated with and indistinguishable from Israel detractors, it marks the displacement of roughly 700,000 Arabs during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the evacuation and destruction of villages, and the broader loss of land following the Arab rejection of a two-state solution, and war that five Arab states launched against the fledgling Jewish state. It claims that Arabs were “expelled” where the historic truth shows that many fled of their own volition, urged by the Arab leaders at the time to do so. The “Nakba” has become the cornerstone of Palestinian national identity. Rather than being rooted in a Declaration of Independence, it gave birth to their declaration of resistance.

Israelis Hunting Down October 7 Terrorists
Peloni: Promises made, promises kept. Hunt down every single one of them. They documented their infamy and sealed their fate while doing so. As Hugh Fitzgerald explains below, this is a clear message regarding the fate of all future potential butchers, but it also serves as the closest remedy approximating justice for the victims of those savages who are still walking the streets, enjoying their lives, and recalling the joy they experienced in the massacre of so many innocents. We will not forget the victims, and we will not forgive their slaughter. For the perpetrators of October 7, we will find you, and we will kill you, so look forward to it. This is the promise.

After Hamas terrorists’ orgy of rape, torture, mutilation, and murder on October 7, 2023, the IDF began its war to destroy Hamas inside Gaza. At the same time, the Israelis wanted to make sure that a subset of Hamas members — those terrorists who took part in the October 7 attack, in any capacity — would be hunted down and killed. To this end, the IDF established an elite group to locate, and then to summarily execute, those who were participants in the atrocities.
