Peloni: The reality is that the case against Netanyahu stands as an indictment on the entire political, legal, and media establishment in Israel. It stands as a testament to the absurd levels which the elites have weaponized the most basic comodity in a liberal society, namely justice, against the longest serving leader in Israel’s history. So the pardon is in effect eliminating further examination in this case of the those who brought these charges, who manipulated the press coverage, and have set legal precedents which have deteriorated the liberties in Israeli society. Knowing that the use of lawfare could be made against the premiere of the nation indicates that it could be used against any citizen in the nation, and with far less fanfare.
