Peloni: The assault on the ancient relics which demonstrate our connection to our ancient kingdom must not be tolerated. The vandalism which specifically and intentionally attempts to degrades and destroys these priceless ties to our past recognizes the import which they provide in strengthening our national identity. With this in mind, would a reasonable solution not be to have an armed presence on these active archaeological sites during the times in which the archaeologists are not themselves present to prevent this strategic assault on these physical records of our past?

What is the point of securing historical sites and of collecting artifacts, if not to assert Israel’s rightful claim to all of the land? I submit that there is already plenty of evidence to establish full sovereignty over all of Judea and Samaria. So, what is Israel waiting for? I think we can safely say that Israel fears what the rest of the world would say and do. That’s not an unfounded fear, but sovereignty must be established sooner or later, if Israel is to survive. Doing that is only going to get harder the longer you wait. In the meantime, it seems Israel must satisfy itself with playing wack-a-mole in a losing game to preserve its historical heritage.
