There are a couple that do great good for American prestige, making it the leader in what will eventually become routine in the distant years to come. NASA for instance is a worthy scientific endeavour and many of the International Community contribute a good share to the costs so as to be partly involved, for their own prestige. That’s a “keeper”….
Besides, it helps bolster the security of the country in many ways, and has innumerable applications. What was once Science Fiction, has and is becoming reality….
@ Birdalone:
He avoided, throughout the whole speech of any mention of the science debate. His case doesn’t rest on debunking the science. He simply made the point, as he did with TPP, that the agreement is bad for American workers.
@ Ted Belman:
And, a good idea to NOT get a Senate vote for what IS a treaty that O44 slipped through. Too much already cluttering the Senate agenda.
The climatechangeDemocratic Party will keep pivoting to climate change anyway.
I thought he explained his rationale quite well.
:
Global warming, or whatever it is known by this month, is *political* science.
Trump should make ending the agreement only the beginning.
He should work to abolish ALL government-funded “scientific” research, starting with all those huckster climate-change scientists, and moving swiftly to draw skeptical attention to that dreadful DARPA, followed by an effort to de-fund NASA, NSF, NIH, and so forth.
This agreement was an albatross around America’s neck making it more difficult for it to compete with other nations. No wonder China, India and Rusia and most other countries joined.
Also the thrust of this agreement was wealth redistribution.
Finally it restricted American sovereignty making it subject to the will of others. Just like the nations of Europe lost their sovereignty to the EU so would America lose its sovereignty to the international community.
Good thing its not a treaty.
