Constitutional Requirements
Natural?born U.S. citizen — The individual must be a natural?born citizen of the United States.
At least 35 years old — The minimum age reflects the framers’ desire for maturity and experience.
U.S. resident for at least 14 years — This does not need to be consecutive, but the person must have accumulated 14 years of residence.
These three requirements are the entire constitutional baseline. Anyone who meets them may declare candidacy.
