  1. @ Bear Klein:

I don’t know who are those in the Muslim Brotherhood, but you can be sure that most Jordanians do. No Muslim could have power and not insist on showing it, even to getting served first in the line.

It’s only your BELIEF that Hussein is not a Brotherhood Supporter but is placating them so as to hold on to power. I don’t think this at all. If he opposed them they could not stay there. All he’d have to do would be to ask the Americans to help eject them. The US had very powerful control in that area, and, with Israel has been, more or less, keeping the Kingdom a going concern. If both withdrew their support, the Muslim Brotherhood “might” take over, but then they would be a terrorist country in toto and Civli War would erupt, drawing in either the US , back again, or Israel, or a combination of both. I don’t believe that the UIS would withdraw anyway, it was just a postulation, they would liquidate the MB before that I’m sure. And that also means the King’s options would shrink into just one…to skip as soon and as fast as he can, before the common people hang him from the nearest lamp post….in full uniform of course. Must respect the demise of a king…

As for Mudar, I leave definite affirmations about him and his chances of becoming the temporary Jordanian leader, to TED, who knows more about him that any one of us. He’s convinced that Mudar is the “Real McCoy” and that’s good enough for me….at the moment. Unwinding events will clarify my thinking more decisively.

Just my opinion of course..as usual.

  2. @ Edgar G.:
One how do you know who is Muslim Brotherhood in all cases. Two I believe the King keeps the Muslim Brotherhood at bay and compromises with them but is Not their supporter. In the middle east you need a strong militia or an army to support your rise to power. Mudar’s army (who, what, where)?

  3. @ Bear Klein:

I just noticed now that I had misread the highlighted report. It mentioned that the 2 brothers had retired. So does this imply that it was the cousin who was arrested. It still smells. because the brothers are not old by very senior-ranked military standards, and again, one was 12 years younger than the king, and 11 years younger than his
    “co-retired” brother………???? We’ll eventually hear the truth ….eventually.

I think the Muslim Brotherhood would be liquidated by the Americans if they didn’t scram, assuming the king, their biggest supporter, was being replaced. If he abdicates, or is forced to scram, I expect Mudar Zahran and company to take over, at least temporarily. Nothing is for certain, and nothing is clear in that area.

  4. @ Edgar G.:
    @ Edgar G.:
Agreed it does pass smell test, I do not believe they retired but were forced to retire. Dictators (Kings) are obviously always worried about being force to flee or being killed. Standard fare in middle-east. It would not be shocking for the King of Jordan to be removed. His replacement is far less clear. The Muslim Brotherhood is very strong in Jordan. I wonder how much they have infiltrated the army.

  5. @ Bear Klein:

It’s even stranger to believe that 3 major Army figures, all younger that Hussein,–Ali actually 12 years younger–, would , together, suddenly “resign” from their high Army positions………..It stinks of bad fish. But that’s the way those who live in atmospheric surroundings, operate. Truth gives way to expediency.

  6. Jordan Denies King’s Brothers Ousted From Army Over Ties With Saudi Arabia

Jordan Denies King’s Brothers Ousted From Army Over Ties With Saudi Arabia
Reports claim King Abdullah II arrested his brothers and a cousin, but army says the three ‘retired’ ? Behind-the-scenes tensions between Jordan and Saudi over crown prince’s policies

Jordan’s King Abdullah II has reportedly arrested two of his brothers due to communications they allegedly had with officials from Saudi Arabia. The Jordanian army denied the report, telling Haaretz that two, Prince Faisal bin Hussein and Prince Ali bin Hussein, had “retired.”

There have been behind-the-scenes tensions between Jordan and Saudi Arabia over Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s policies and his intention to revoke Jordan’s custodianship over Islamic sites in Jerusalem. Always concerned with palace intrigue, the Jordanian king’s move may also be a message to the Saudis.

  7. @ Ted Belman:

When I first saw Glick’s pet project, which she wrote about some years ago, I immediately said that it would make a HUGE 35-40% Arab minority, mostly terrorist and uneducated, which would completely destabilize the Arab citizens who were already being increasingly radicalized. It would be chaos and Civil War. I said she was mashugga, with a weak link in her otherwise excellent makeup. I just couldn’t understand this nonsense from someone like her. Still can’t.

  8. US considering permanent cutbacks at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey

Informal restrictions by the Turkish military that make using the runway at Incirlik difficult, along with a deteriorating relationship between the two governments, contributed to a decision to scale back operations at the base, officials told the Wall Street Journal.

In January, for instance, a squadron of A-10 Thunderbolt IIs were shifted from Incirlik to Afghanistan. U.S. Air Forces Central Command officially said that the move was for the purpose of shifting focus from fighting ISIS to fighting the Taliban.

Despite Trump’s recent tilt toward Israel and the appointment of Bolton, it is still fantasy to think that he will try to depose Hussein. He and every other person knowledgable about Jordanian politics knows that the only realistic alternatives to Hussein are Isis and/or Al Queda. Hussein is no friend of Israel , but he is definitely the lesser evil to these two groups. Even in Hussein’s Bedouin army, the terrorist groups have great support now.

    They are wrong. Trust me.

  10. I just talked to my source and I was told that the US is still going to use the air base in Qatar but it is removing the Headquarters of the Central Command. That’s a big deal.

    I didn’t talk about Turkey.

  11. Abu Maven Said:

As to the closing down of those air bases, US has officially denied that story. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s not true. In fact, logically speaking it makes complete sense. Just curious if you are aware of credible sites reporting that (other than Debka)?

I posted an article from Dec of last year on Egypt Today that told why it was going to happen.

  12. Abu Maven Said:

But do you think she is factually wrong in her assertion that annexation would not in any way threaten the Jewish numerical majority?

Her numbers are correct. She gets her infor from the same people that I get it from. But I argue that when the muslims amount to 5% to 10% of the population in European countries like France and Britain, they wreak havok regardless if they are citizens or not.. Caroline says that if Israel annexes all J&S they will be 35%. That is way too much for me to accept. We will never be able to domesticate them.

  13. @ adamdalgliesh:

Let’s suppose you are correct, adamdalgliesh, that talk of deposing Abdullah will ultimately come to nothing. Might there nevertheless be value in promoting the plan that Ted is promoting insofar as it might galvanize public support for the idea and even convince Abdullah himself that it may be prudent to adopt some aspects of what Ted is proposing, if perhaps only for the purpose of self-preservation?

  14. Thanks for the reply, Ted. I understand you don’t agree with Glick’s plan. But do you think she is factually wrong in her assertion that annexation would not in any way threaten the Jewish numerical majority? Incidentally, I agree with you that it would be far preferable that they leave, insofar as they can be incentivized to do so voluntarily. I am just wondering if you think Glick is factually incorrect in her assertions?

As to the closing down of those air bases, US has officially denied that story. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s not true. In fact, logically speaking it makes complete sense. Just curious if you are aware of credible sites reporting that (other than Debka)?

  15. The huge number of Syrian refugees that has crowded into Jordanhave assured this support. None of the Jordan “experts” share Ted’s belief that Rudar has the support of the Jordanian army, or that the Jordan Legion will take orders from Washington. Nor is there any evidence that the Jordanian population, who have been brainwashed by Islamists for generations, will accept Rudar. As for Trump, he obviously has no desire to get bogged down in yet another war in Jordan in order to impose a new government there. On the contrary, Trump is trying to disengage American forces to the extent that he can. It’s time to get real and stop fantasizing. Israel gains nothing from dreams and irrational hopes.

  16. @ Abu Maven:
Glick’s plan offers a path to citizenship for the Arabs. I am totally against that. The Palestinians will always be a thorn in our side and will require us to acconodate them. I prefer to pay them to leave,. Sherman and Feiglin agree with me.

As of now the Saudis want the MB banned and they know Mudar will do this and be their ally. I can’t go into all the thinking. But as we recently learned, the US are closing down their air bases in Turkey and Qatar.. It allcoming together as I predicted.

I explained this in the talk but you are right, I should have kept silent.

  17. Fascinating talk Ted! It’s great that you are taking a leadership role in putting forth new thinking. A couple of questions occurred to me while listening:

    1. You mention Caroline Glick’s recent book in which she argues in favor of annexation of the so-called West Bank, contending that changing Arab and Israeli birth rates actually show that annexation and granting citizenship to resident Arabs would no longer pose a risk to the Jewish majority. Do you think she is wrong?

    2. You mention Saudia Arabia/MBS. Do you think MBS would actually support an overthrow of the King and an installation of Zahran? Certainly he seems to be taking steps against the Muslim Brotherhood in Saudi Arabia and overthrowing the current Jordanian government would be consistent with that. On the other hand, it seems like he has not to date had major success in intervening in Lebanon, Yemen, etc. Thoughts?

    3. You say the US is considering supporting the installation of Zahran and this is “very confidential.” If so, why talk about it publicly?

    Thank you for your thoughts.

  18. @ Ted Belman:

I regarded it merely like a computer typo; it didn’t break the absorbing drasha. I hope that copies of it are sent to all the American Democratic and ultra-liberal fools who walk around with their eyes on the sky, and their minds on how to gain more personal prestige or have a photo taken with the President-even with this President.

  19. Masterly….and Masterful exposition of actual facts which are either forgotten or ignored. . An excellent rundown, clarity itself. It’s fact, but also I’m saying this because there were even a few things I didn’t know about……..!!
