The US is abandoning her allies. They are not worth the trouble.

By Ted Belman

Caroline Glick delivers with S. Korea, N. Korea, Israel and Iran. She points out that the US is making no effort to restrain let alone confront N. Korea, even after she torpedoed a S. Korean ship killing 46, preferring to kiss up to China to make sure that China keeps buying its debt. She doesn’t even mention that Taiwan, like S.Korea, can’t count on the US.

But N. Korea is our problem too.

AS FOREIGN Minister Avigdor Lieberman noted in his trip to Japan earlier in the month, North Korea does not only threaten its immediate neighbors. Through its proliferation activities, and particularly through its close ties to Iran and its Syrian, Hizbullah and Hamas clients, North Korea constitutes a threat to the Middle East and indeed to global security as a whole.

Not only did N.Korea supply Syria with the reactor that Israel destroyed a year ago it also sent more than 35 tonnes of arms including rockets and rocket-propelled grenades to Hamas and Hezbollah this year. Fortunately they were seized on route.

As the Obama administration prefers fruitless engagement over resolute confrontation, it is leaving more than S. Korea and Taiwan in the lurch. It has abandoned Georgia, and other former former Soviets to the Russian maw. While Obama is abandoning such allies, allies of the US are abandoning it. Turkey and Brazil are two recent examples.

Caroline believes that the threat from Iran is worse because it is intend on destroying the global order, N. Korea just wants to survive.,

Depressingly, just as the Iranian threat is greater than the North Korean threat, so the Obama administration’s denial of the nature of the Iranian threat is greater than its denial of the North Korean threat. Quite simply, the Obama administration refuses to believe the ideology that informs the actions of Iran’s rulers is what they say it is.

In its latest demonstration of its deep denial of the nature of the threat it faces, this week John Brennan, Obama’s chief adviser for counterterrorism and homeland security, said that the US must court what he referred to as “moderate elements,” in Hizbullah.
Brennan argued that since in addition to its Iranian-commanded and -supplied military organization and its Iranian-commanded and -trained international terror network, Hizbullah also has members in the Lebanese government and parliament, it is a group that the Obama administration can do business with.

To the extent that Brennan’s statement echoes the Obama administration’s analysis of Hizbullah, it is simply terrifying.

Hizbullah was established by Iran in 1981. It has a dual mission of serving as the advance guard of Iran’s global Islamic revolution and of spreading the Iranian revolution to Lebanon. Hizbullah’s participation in Lebanese politics is consonant with this mission. It does not in any way indicate a moderation of the organization. Had Brennan looked, he would not have found a single statement by Hizbullah parliamentarians or government ministers that in any way contradicts Hizbullah’s Iranian-dictated missions.

But then, Brennan’s asinine position on Hizbullah is part and parcel of his overall denial of the threat radical Islam poses to the US and to the rest of the world. In a speech at New York University last August, Brennan gave a stirring defense of Islam as a religion of peace. He eschewed any connection between the likes of al-Qaida and the Iranian mullahs and Islam, and claimed that jihad is a great and good thing.

In his words, “Using the legitimate term jihad, which means to purify oneself or to wage a holy struggle for a moral goal [to describe the cause for which Islamic terrorists fight], risks giving these murderers the religious legitimacy they desperately seek but in no way deserve.”

What Brennan’s statements show is that Obama, who picked Brennan to serve as his chief counterterrorism adviser, is ideologically committed to the notion that Iran and its fellow jihadists are not an inherent threat to the US and its allies. That is, Obama is ideologically committed to the notion that there is no reason to take any action against Iran that could actually prevent the likes of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hassan Nasrallah from developing and deploying nuclear weapons. [..]

South Korea’s acknowledgment of North Korea’s aggression places it on a collision course with the Obama administration, which prefers to court Beijing for dollars rather than deal effectively with Pyongyang’s aggression. Israel has been on a collision course with Washington for a year and a half now, as it insists in the face of US opposition that Iran’s nuclear program is the greatest threat to global security today.

[..] It is time for Israel to take the lead in the international campaign to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

What more can I say.

  1. I would wipe out all debts, all loans, and erase international debts.

I would close the banks and the IRS and shut down all taxation.

I would dethrone all communists, socialists and greedy capitalists.

Where would people keep their money if there are no banks? Why wipe out debts? People are in debt due to their own irresponsibility. How will businesses start up if we wipe out loans? How would people purchase homes without morgages? In other words how would the economy work? Why erase international debts and allow irresponsible nanny states like Greece to be let off the hook? I’m in favor of letting those socialists suffer.

Michael Sunstar, what is your alternative to capitalism?

  2. Rudolf Valentino commands me to coat the steps of the stairwell with the Ebola virus.

Have the stuff put into a spray and powder form and drop it all over Iran.

  3. It is time for Israel to take the lead in the international campaign to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

    Israel cannot lead without followers.

Bombing is an entirely different matter.

  4. Embracing libertarianism would be the death knell of the Republican Party, and would provide the socialists with permanent control of America.

Then you should have a serious problem with Sarah Palin?

I have an itchy feeling that the Tea Party movement will be usurped by these libertarians, threaten/cause a Republican Party schism which will allow ther Democrats to take the 201 elections. The once fringe right is gaining members due to the economy and fears of a mexicn takeover of some of the border states. I don’t see a unified strong Republican answer. This libertarian and Tea party combo will raise all the old anti Jewish Canards like blaming the liberal and leftist Jews for all of Americas woes. I already see the beginnings on the net. If Israel ever does attack Iran the shit will hit the fan for the Jews. The throw the Jews down the well crowd will be out for blood.

  5. Never put conservatives in the position of having to defend Obama from your ignorant racist attacks.

Why have you put me in the awkward and distasteful position of having to defend for I think the first and I hope only time our friend Michael?

It’s not racist it’s political!! Obama used his race to get elected. 95% of all the Black Americans who voted voted for Hussein just because he was black so what’s wrong with calling him exactly what he used to get elected. If he were white McCain would now be president.

  6. Michael after you have destroyed everything the bad with the good . What’s left? Will you leave your current position of nutty cult professor and go into sustenance farming? Man’s gatta eat don’t we? Since there won’t be electricity and no money to pay for it, I would even suggest you go into making 16 hour candles. There will be a need. The barter system is nice I want to see 300 million Americans bartering away on e bay, Oops forgot no electricity no credit, no banks no police no army no nothing. You maniac you destroyed the world!!! When your Jesus doesn’t shw up what will you do? What excuses? What rationalizations?

Look forward only to your magnificent Lake of Fire. Heh Heh Heh 🙂

  7. Since I cannot respond on the libertarian thread, I will try here:

Better to be a Libertarian than a democrat right about now.

Better to be drowned than suffocated?

Libertarianism is an excessively egocentric philosophy that excuses people from any societal or international responsibilities.

Had FDR been a libertarian, Hitler would have won World War II.

Had Reagan been a libertarian, the Soviet Union would have survived and prospered.

Embracing libertarianism would be the death knell of the Republican Party, and would provide the socialists with permanent control of America.

  8. Never put conservatives in the position of having to defend Obama from your ignorant racist attacks.

He provides infinite reasons to vilify him, not the least of which being that he is actively facilitating another Holocaust.

Focusing on the color of Obama’s skin is immoral and counterproductive.

I would be thrilled if Clarence Thomas were president.

    Or Thomas Sowell.

    Or Shelby Steele.

    Or Ward Connerly.

    Or Colonel Allen West.

Or any other ethical, conservative black.

    So lose the racism.

    It fucks up the site.

  9. The current PLANET OF THE APES administration of black Obama and his monkey circus is NOT THE REAL UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

No, it’s men like me, who if elected president, would wipe out all of Israel’s enemies right away.

I would establish Israeli land and soil and expel the Palestinians forever.

I would wipe out all debts, all loans, and erase international debts.

I would close the banks and the IRS and shut down all taxation.

I would dethrone all communists, socialists and greedy capitalists.

I would destroy the Iranian regime and free the iranian people.

No guts, no glory. That is why the current monkey circus in Washington is doomed to failure.

    No honor.

Israel is on their own and it’s up to the Israeli government to tell Obama and his monkeys to go to hell.

  10. [..] It is time for Israel to take the lead in the international campaign to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Glick is beyond redemption as an analyst. She has thrown her hands up in resignation and it seems in quiet desperation. She regurgitates the already obvious and known facts but still refuses a single word of direct criticism to her great love and mentor BB. A truly loyal groupie she is but that makes for skewered and intellectually dishonest analysis. Since her analysis is based only on partially correct basis in fact her conclusions are also way off the mark.

Ted says:”What more can I say”. . ? That’s really defeatism and par for the course to all those who are confined to narrow intellectual rationalism.

I have no idea today whether Israel or anybody can stop the Iranians from acquiring Nukes. I have no idea if Israel can stop them by a single or even multiple military attacks. I do know that we can make the price for Iranian acquisition of nukes so high that they may have 2nd thoughts.. I do know that by advising all those who have a strong interest (economic),in Iran that within X amt. of time if they cannot take collective and corrective steps to stop the Iranians drive for Nukes we will destroy every oil well in Iran which will include a lot of collateral human and ecological damage not only to the immediate area of those wells but to the whole world especially to the immediate regions and to Russia and Europe.

Sanctions won’t work, only strong military action. Who will do it?

What more can I say? What is America more fearful of Iranian nuke capability with China protecting them or China refusing to purchase American debt? I think the ans. is obvious. Money talks shit walks.
