The Simple Truth: Jordan did not gain independence in 1946. It officially and legally remained part of the British Mandate for Palestine until the morning the Mandate ended on 15 May 1948. All Mandate laws and international conventions applied to it as part of the British Mandate for Palestine until the British departure, not as the regime claims that a “kingdom was established” in 1946.

Even after that, Jordan had neither an independent currency nor a sovereign passport. For a period, it used the Palestinian pound and Palestinian passport. The alleged independence was nothing more than an illusion and a seizure of land and people. This explains the continuing Hashemite policy of distinguishing between “Jordanian” and “Palestinian”; otherwise, there would be no basis for the existence of these so-called outsiders. International recognition was also delayed until 1955, when the United Nations admitted Jordan as a state.

Jordanians and Palestinians are the same people West and East of the river, no matter how much the regime may dislike it or try to obscure it… and woe to the Hashemite and their tools who spread hatred and discord between our people…
