Persuasive. I never thought of that. The cartels and the politicians. This needs to be investigated.

Your reference to DPs puzzled me for a few moments.. After the War, there were many people who had no homes, indeed no countries, and nowhere to live.,They were placed in camps, very little different from the Concentration camps. They were called DPs, which then meant “Displaced Persons”.’ Tis went on for many years after the War.
@ Edgar There was an organization called UNRRA which settled many DPs and other refugees including my father. Shortly after concluding its task, UNRWA was founded with a new and unique definition of refugee and nobody was any the wiser. UNRRA which ended the Jewish refugee crisis was replaced by UNRWA which invented the Palestinian refugee crisis and made it permanent, a terrorist army to destroy Israel. Same oronunciation.

Just a few minutes ago, I posted another item on this subject here, about the Triangle Shirt Waist holocaust of around 1910, the worst fire in New York and perhaps US history. Over 149 immigrants, mainly early teen girls, perished horribly by fire, smoke, and jumping to their deaths.
This post has disappeared.
This disaster in the Bronx reveals one of the consequences of the DPs illegal open immigration policy–horrific deaths to the immigrants themselves.
A tragedy, yes, but dwarfed by “The Triangle Shirt Waist” conflagration, which happened around 1910, which we have forgotten all about. Over 140 mainly early teens girls died in that fire. I read about it years ago in a Police Gazette I used to get every week. A most horrible tragedy of unparalleled proportions.
I think it was the worst fire ever in New York, maybe the US. And caused by greed an/or neglect of the most basic safely rules.
They were also immigrants, legal immigrants.
Thank you for sharing this, Mr. Belman! Thank you for all your efforts and work. It’s so much appreciated.
