Trump: ‘I’m not allowing Israel to annex the West Bank’

By

In the same manner that some in the MAGA camp have been arguing that Israel does not own America, America likewise does not own Israel. Israel is a sovereign nation which is doing what it needs to do in order to survive the jihad. It isn’t only about Hamas. It is about the entire jihad against the state of Israel. Both Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad are committed to Israel’s destruction, and both groups are quite active in Judea and Samaria (also known as the West Bank). Brigadier General Amir Avivi, founder and chairman of the Israel Defense And Security Forum, has warned that many released “murderous terrorists” who make their way to Judea and Samaria establish militias. Avivi has stated in February that once the “hostage deal” was over, “it will require significant military pressure on the terror infrastructure in both Judea and Samaria, as well as Gaza…I trust our soldiers to do whatever is needed to secure a decisive win.”

Only four months after Hamas’ savage October 7 attack, Judea and Samaria saw a 350% rise in terrorist attacks. And last summer, Judea and Samaria was reported to be “literally on fire.” Palestinian terrorists were intentionally and persistently lighting forest fires “in an attempt to literally smoke Israeli farmers, ranchers, and settlers out of the area.” Also, the Syrian jihadist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham issued a fatwa nine months ago, encouraging Palestinians in Judea and Samaria to continue their jihad against Israel.

It is no coincidence that after Trump met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the White House that Trump now declares “I’m not allowing Israel to annex the West Bank.” A top Israeli strategic analyst has dubbed Turkey “the New Iran,” and for good reason.

According to Reuters:

The Turkish leader said he and Trump had held extensive discussions about U.S. ally Israel’s war in Gaza and peace efforts there. He said they had “reached an understanding” on how to achieve a ceasefire and lasting peace in Gaza and Palestine. Erdogan also said he explained to Trump the need for a two-state solution in the Middle East for regional peace. Turkey is a vocal critic of Israel’s offensive in Gaza, calling it a “genocide”, and has urged countries including the U.S. to end their support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government. Israel strongly denies genocide charges.

Trump’s declaration is worrying news for Israel and also for the West, since Israel stands at the frontlines of the global jihad.

“Trump: I will not allow Israel to annex Judea and Samaria,” by Elad Benari, Israel National News, September 26, 2025:

US President Donald Trump stressed in a conversation with reporters on Thursday that he will “not allow” Israel to apply sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.

“I will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank. No, I will not allow it. It’s not going to happen,” Trump replied firmly when asked by a reporter about the issue.

Asked whether he spoke about it with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about this, Trump responded, “Yeah, but I’m not going to allow it, whether I spoke to him or not. I did, but I’m not allowing Israel to annex the West Bank. There’s been enough. It’s time to stop now.”

Trump also told reporters that he had a “very good” conversation with Netanyahu earlier in the day, and expressed hope that a hostage release deal could be agreed upon soon.

“I had some very, really good talks today on Gaza, with both the Middle East representatives and kings and all of the top leaders in the Middle East,” said Trump.

“And we had also a very good conversation with Bibi Netanyahu, trying to get the hostages back, and we’re trying to get the end of the Gaza situation. It’s really bad, very bad,” he added.

Earlier on Thursday, at a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Trump said an international effort is underway to bring an end to the hostilities in Gaza and to secure a hostage release deal.

“I had a great meeting with [Middle East] leaders… at UNGA – and I think we’re close to getting some kind of a deal done. We want to get the hostages back. I have to get the hostages back,” President Trump stated……

  1. I try to follow the Jewish credo of not rushing to judgement. I wish we all did. It’s easy not to. When I first heard Trump tell Bibi not to annex Judea and Samaria, I was angry. Likewise when Trump insisted that Bibi apologize to Qatar over attempting to kill Hamas leaders living there, I was enraged. But at least I kept my feelings to myself.

Thankfully I watched General Avivi’s take on Trump’s latest peace deal. He made a very reasonable and cogent argument in defence of both men’s actions. Both leaders are incredible men. Both are wise, courageous and have moral clarity. But they are humans like us and therefore far from perfect. We need to support both of them. Of course we are allowed to criticize them only in so much as to do it constructively. I for one, want them to succeed. Mostly because I want Israel to succeed as the Jewish nation it was meant to be.

Avivi explained that now, while Trump is attempting to make a regional deal (it’s not just about freeing the hostages) with Israel and all the other players, is not the right time to formally annex Judea and Samaria. For this and other legitimate reasons, Bibi agrees. But I truly believe in my heart, that both men want Israel to annex these areas at a later date when it makes more sense.

I am saddened to read all of the comments on this thread. They are all bashing Trump and throwing his administration under the bus. I certainly understand your frustration but please calm down, watch Avivi’s video and stop rushing to judgement. If you proceed down that path we’ll have leaders like Obama, Biden and Harris back in power very soon.

I myself condemned Trump for calling Qatar a close US ally at the expense of his very real close US ally, Israel here: https://leonupsidedown.blogspot.com/2025/09/the-truth-will-set-you-free.html

But I did so only because I ‘dafka’ want him to succeed.

  2. Trump says that he’s not going to “allow” Israel to annex Judea and Samaria! So who made him King of the world? He doesn’t get to dictate to sovereign nations what they may or may not do….especially if they are friends or allies. Saying this to Israel is not only inappropriate, it is grossly insulting. He may think that his (admittedly) substantial support for Israel entitles him to that, but that’s going way too far. [I wonder if he would expect sex after taking a girl out for an expensive dinner. Maybe he did that back in his younger days, who knows? Now, it’s not just young girls, it’s countries!]

Right now Israel has it’s hands full with Gaza, But as soon as that is resolved, Israel needs to force Trump’s hand on this point. Such a proclamation cannot be allowed to become precedent, and even more to the point, Judea and Samaria must be annexed, sooner rather than later.

  3. I knew Trump was not to be trusted. He’s selling out Israel for a Nobel prize and kissing the asses of the inbred arab potentates for his punk sons business interests in qatar. I never liked Don Jr who hangs out with fucker qatarlson and his business partner is omeed malik.

Now that it seems the Russia Ukraine war will not end anytime soon as he thought, Trump is desperate for a major foreign policy achievement, so Israel is being thrown under the bus.

Why does every deal ALWAYS have to be on the muslims terms and not Israel’s? Israel has the upper hand militarily, but it doesn’t matter what successes Israel achieves militarily, they are never allowed to have a complete victory.

Combine all of this with the antisemitism bubbling up at the service of MAGA and about to explode, I will never vote for another MAGA candidate again. I won’t support anyone associated with this administration in ’28.

    • What do you mean by “never allowed”. This after saying that Israel has the upper hand militarily. I agree with this last statement; Israel has one of the strongest “battle hardened” military and has used it to great effect. Thanking Trump for supporting Israel is just foolish. Israel has done EVERYTHING and successfully too. The only exception was the dropping of the mammoth bombs on Iran, and it was Israel that cleared the way for the bombers to saunter in and do the drop.
So there’s nothing to stop Israel from cleaning up the current mess. It’s not as if anyone in the world will love us for not being aggressive in this respect…

  4. Dear Pres Trump;

First, thank you for all you’ve done for both the US and Israel. It’s appreciated.

Second, and just as (if not more) important, you need to hear the words of Sun Szu who wrote the “Art of War”. He said “know your enemy”. If you think that by telling Israel to NOT annex Judea and Samaria (it’s ours anyway and we should not have to ANNEX it) you will induce the Muslim world … ALL those Muslim nations … to make a permanent peace with Israel, you are deluding yourself and everyone else. Islam theology literally mandates breaking an agreement at the time of best opportunity to the Muslim party. They’ve done it with virtually all previous such agreements, are doing it now and will do it with any agreement going forward. There is only one way to defeat Islam, and that is militarily. If you fail to do that, then you doom ALL of western culture to defeat and destruction.

    • Put even more simply: America has it’s own problems to deal with. Israel will not second-guess how these problems are handled in the context of North America.
Likewise Israel has its own problems to deal with, and like America, Israel’s problems are unique to Israel and must therefore be dealt with in a Middle-Eastern context… without external interference.
