Peloni: It seems somewhat impossible to discuss the relationship of Jordan with Israel today without mentioning the open hostility which is fomented from the Jordanian govt against Israel, and yet this discussion regarding Jordanian-Israeli relations does exactly this. Beginning exactly 4 days before October 7, Queen Rania eerily began a blood libel campaign against Israel which is still ongoing to this day. Most recently, while visiting Germany, Rania compared Israel to Nazi Germany. This Jew Hating rhetoric is unwarranted, inflammatory and actually violates the terms of the peace treaty between Jordan and Israel, which was in fact discussed in this interview. It is unfortunate that this was not addressed in this conversation. Jew Hatred in Jordan is not simply due to the soil on which the Jordanians are raised, as the radicalization of their people is part of Jordanian society, its religious teachings and its education. All of this is contrary to any consideration of peace, as the royal family constantly cites public sentiment for their “neutral” stance towards Israel.
