Zohran Mamdani at Terror Mosque That Urged ‘Guide the Shooting’ of Hamas

‘Teach our children to hate everything about the infidels: the holidays, the dress, the manners’

Zohran Mamdani, who has been chosen by 5% of the electorate and by the Democrat Party, as their candidate, appeared at a Brooklyn terror mosque where an Imam had previously prayed that Allah aid Hamas terrorists and “guide their shooting”.

In January, Mamdani, a Muslim candidate who only recently became a citizen, tweeted that he was joiningJummah prayers at the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge today.” The tweet showed him appearing to speak next to Imam Muhammad Al-Barr.

5 months earlier, widely publicised video had appeared of Al-Barr at the same mosque praying for Islamic terrorists killing Jews.

“Oh Allah, we ask you to liberate Palestine from the occupiers and the plunderers. Oh Allah, grant victory to our mujahideen (Jihadist) brothers in Palestine,” Al-Barr prayed. “Oh Allah, annihilate those who occupied their lands.”

Al-Barr then hailed the Hamas terrorists who were “holding out, steadfast, after 316 days? 316 days! We ask Allah to make them strong and guide their shooting.”

This was far from the first event involving the terror mosque which Mamdani attended that praised terrorism, and expressed hatred for Jews and Christians.

MEMRI had documented multiple hateful examples.

Hamas flags were waved at a pro-terrorist rally that prayed at the hate mosque and a funeral service for a Hamas leader.\

In a Friday sermon at the Fort Hamilton Islamic Society of Bay Ridge in Brooklyn on January 12, 2024, the speaker said that “the Christians, who are complicit [with the Jews] and agree and support them – they insult Allah” because they “attribute to Allah a son” and added: “What good can be expected from people whose hearts are corrupt?”

He concluded: “Let us take these lessons and teach it to our children. Teach them to hate everything about kufr (infidels): the holidays, the dress, the manners, and everything…”

The infidels in this case would be Americans

“And who is Allah angry with? The Prophet says, the Jews are those ‘who have incurred the wrath of Allah.’ Why? Because they have changed the Book of Allah with their hands. Can you imagine how corrupt, how evil one has to be, to change the sacred book, the Torah, with their hands, and [then] they say that this is from Allah.

“And the Christians who are complicit and agree and support them, they insult Allah. They attribute to Allah a son, and they attribute major, major sins to the prophets, so what good can be expected from people whose hearts are corrupt? Allah tells us what they are saying right now is just the tip of the iceberg. What they conceal in their hearts of hatred for you and your religion is greater.

This was almost mild compared to the rhetoric of the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge’s former imam.

Shata said that according to the Quran, Jews are described as liars, “the biggest liars among all of God’s creation,” and alleged that they cannot stop lying due to a “lying gene.”

A third characteristic, Shata claimed, is distortion, describing Jews as the “masters of forgery,” and alleging that forgery is like a religion to them. He listed a fourth trait as deception, claiming that Jews attempted to assassinate the Prophet Muhammad 11 times. He asked the congregation: “These are the people that you want to make peace with?”

Reda Shata was the subject of a 2006 three-part New York Times profile. At the time, he was the imam of the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, the mosque involved in the 1994 murder of a 16-year old Jewish boy.

These are Zohran Mamdani’s ugly roots. This is the real hate behind his campaign’s hipster facade.

  1. This is the issue driving Mamdani’s candidacy. Fact is, I want a rent freeze, too, but not enough to support an antisemitic, anti-american terrorist sympathizer.

    https://www.amny.com/housing/nyc-rent-guidelines-board-two-year-lease/

There were two rent freezes for one year leases under De Blasio, who I voted for before the pandemic, and Luxembourg has free mass transit. EVERYBODY ELSE has universal health care.

He’s a Communist but ironically, the Communist countries don’t provide that. This is a problem.

  2. Zohran Mamdami may have made a mistake in getting himself nominated to be mayor of New York.

If he had not run at all, or even if he had run and lost, his ability to stay in the United States would be easier.

But because he has made the national news, people are looking into his background.

And it turns out, this guy was supporting terrorist organizations, vocally, while awaiting his citizenship papers. Yes, before he was a citizen, but after he had applied, he was supporting terrorist organizations.

What does that mean? It means that his citizenship was won on false pretenses.

And that means that he can be deported quite easily. His citizenship can and should be revoked.

Usually, there would be a hesitance to do such a thing, because voters have already made the selection of him. It would be looked at as a federal intervention into local politics.

However… The city of New York is already in absolute fear, that this man might win. They are rightly afraid that Sliwa and Adams might split the opposition, causing mamdami to win.

Because they are so scared, and rightly, so, I think that the people of New York may have the sense to be supportive of federal action in this case.

And after all, what are laws on the books for, if not to be enforced?

If we have a requirement that people support the United States of America on the day, they take their oath to become citizens, and we find that people are blatantly flaunting their disregard for that requirement… What is the point of citizenship at all?

So, yes, we need to revoke the citizenship of this Marxist Islamist jihadist.

It is the right thing to do.

Mamdani Isn’t an Islamist, But He’s No Better

    By Abe Greenwald

After Zohran Mamdani won the New York City Democratic mayoral primary, a meme circulated on social media portraying the Statue of Liberty covered in a Burqa. This is representative of an idea that’s popular on the online right: that Mamdani is an anti-American, anti-Semitic Islamist. While this gets some details right, it’s decidedly wrong on an important point. While no one knows what’s in another man’s heart, Mamdani’s career-long outspoken anti-Zionism and sympathy for those who commit anti-Semitic incitement doesn’t seem to be of the Islamist variety at all. It’s shaped, rather, by his leftism.

I can see how Mamdani’s being Muslim complicates the diagnosis, but he’s a textbook anti-colonialist, anti-capitalist, anti-white, America-hating, Israel-hating, “globalize the intifada” man of the radical left. After witnessing almost two years of the campus woke jihad, we should be able to recognize the type.

Mamdani is its very essence. His Harvard-educated mother, Mira Nair, is an Academy Award–nominated filmmaker whose first husband was a Jewish photographer. She also happens to have been raised Hindu. Her second husband, Mahmood Mamdani, is a Columbia anthropology professor who teaches anti-colonialism studies and has led teach-ins at the Columbia tentifada. In Zohran Mamdani, then, we have the product of Hollywood and the Ivy League, of left-wing show-business privilege and radical academia.

So he has merely continued the traditions into which he was born. Mamdani, who once took a shot at an entertainment career (rapping), is an across-the-board campus leftist—a well-off socialist, police-defunder, LGBTQ “ally,’” and, of course, anti-Zionist who embraces all the pro-terror slogans of those who seek to wipe out the Jews. That’s the leftist MO, not the way of Islamism.

I take the point that anti-Semitism is anti-Semitism, but it’s important to know one’s enemy and how to fight him. Opposing Mamdani with arguments that he’s an Islamist will only make his opposition look hysterical, bigoted, and dumb. It will therefore fortify his defense against the valid accusations that must be leveled at him. It has already done so.

And I’m not in any way making the case that this means Jews shouldn’t be outraged by Mamdani and his nomination. I’m not even saying that his animating leftism makes him any less of a threat. In some sense, leftist anti-Semitism is more dangerous than the nakedly jihadist type because it’s the leftist brand that gets seamlessly absorbed into the Democratic Party and spreads nationally. It’s because Mamdani is a leftist anti-Zionist that he’s able to draw to his side liberal-establishment Jews like Brad Lander. And as we’ve seen, it’s very easy for Mamdani to camouflage his left-wing hatred of Israel as an admirable passion for freedom and equality. All it takes is a smart, upbeat, charismatic person who knows how to speak liberalese. It’s a bit harder to sell “death to the Jews” Islamism to the liberal masses—though nowhere near as hard as it should be.

Islamists and leftists do come together to advance the war on Israel and the Jews. That’s what’s been happening across college campuses since October 7, 2023. Given the leftists’ ability to partner with Islamists on the one hand and influence mainstream liberalism on the other, they serve as the connective tissue between terrorist ideology and the Democratic Party. Mamdani isn’t the weapon’s explosive device, he’s part of the delivery system. As both components need dismantling, it helps to know which is which.

  4. Mamdani was elected by 5 percent of the electorate. We have a new Ranked Choice electoral system that older voters haven’t grasped. We’re really not that stupid or antisemitic, but I repeat myself.

  5. Mayor Adams’ resume reminds me of Tom Lehrer’s quip about Mozart: “It’s a sobering thought that when Mozart was my age, he’d been dead five years.” 😀

  6. I support a rent freeze for rent stabilized tenants and free mass transit but I will never vote for an antisemite. My first two choices – you get five in what will be New York City’s second Ranked Choice general election in November – will be Republican Curtis Sliwa – who also supports a rent freeze, incidentally. It’s decided every year based on landlords’ costs for older buildings and for which landlords get all kinds of tax rebates and benefits from the state and they’ve never gone down – and my second will be Mayor Eric Adams – who told the rent stabilization board to revote when their increase estimate was two high. – That’s why I’ve been voting Republican for national office but Dem for state, going either way for local – for the last 21 years.

The rent stabilization law is under the control of the State Assembly, State Senate and Governor thanks to a law passed in the ’70s called the Urqhardt Law which states that New York City is just a creature of the state. So they have a captive audience of 1 million tenants – that is tenants and their families and room-mates. That’s one of the reasons we have Soviet Style elections in this gerrymandered one party state in which the real fight up until now has been in the Dem party primary.

They briefly abolished rent controls in the ’70s and homelessness skyrocketed, the housing courts were swamped.

Though this last time around, I voted against the NY State Attorney General because of her lawfare against Trump and anyone connected to him and against the NY State Comptroller because he announced that he would dole out benefits to the needy on the basis of DEI, Dems all.

I also agree with Sliwa’s animal rights plank, he wants to abolish kill animal shelters and promote managed feral cat colonies to combat the rat problem.

Otherwise, he’s very similar to Mayor Adams politically, though of course, Adams is the only candidate with executive and political experience. Originally a Republican, before he was a Dem and now an independent, in this city where all the elected officials except a handful of citycouncilpeople are dems, he was a state legislator, borough president of Brooklyn, a police captain, and has had a successful term as mayor. He alsos founded “One Hundred Men in Law Enforcement” which lobbied against police brutality which he also suffered from in his youth.

I miss liberal Republican pro-Israel, pro-American stalwart Senator Jacob Javits, who is the one who coined the slogan, “Medicaid for All.”
