Syrian Druze want Israel

Peloni: Jolani is Shaara and Shaara is Jolani.  Ignoring simple realities such as this is what causes incoherent policies which in turn cause incoherent results and devastating realities.

This video is from today, in the heart of southern Syria. The Druze in As-Suwayda are chanting words that should shake the international community awake:
“We want Israel. We want Israel.”

Let that sink in.

These are not Israeli citizens. These are Syrian Druze, living under the shadow of regime brutality, Iranian terror proxies, and radical Sunni jihadists, and they are calling out to the Jewish state to be their protector. Why? Because they know the truth the world refuses to admit: Only Israel stands as a beacon of stability, morality, and strength in a region soaked in blood and betrayal.

One Druze voice on Twitter “Daughter of the Druze Mountain” put it plainly: “It is natural to demand the country that helped, gave, and extended a hand when the whole world turned its back on them.” And indeed, the world has turned its back, again.Let’s be direct. There is only one real solution that can secure the lives of the Druze and ensure Israel’s long-term safety: Full Israeli control over southern Syria. Not as an occupier, but as a shield. As the only force capable of pushing back the chaos.

But standing in the way of that solution is a brutal geopolitical reality. Because the jihadist regime threatening the Druze, led by Abu Mohammad al-Jolani and his so-called “Hayat Tahrir al-Sham” (HTS)—is openly backed by Turkey and Qatar, two nations fueling Islamist extremism under a diplomatic smile. And let’s not forget: Turkey and Qatar maintain strong ties with the Trump administration, particularly among its foreign policy and defense circles, and especially via Trump’s envoy Tom Barrack. That alliance complicates everything.

Israel finds itself in a tight corner. How do you protect a vulnerable minority from an enemy that’s being legitimized, and even empowered, by so-called “allies” of the West? How do you act decisively when the very nations that claim to fight terror are backing the very terrorists threatening your people?

Jolani isn’t hiding his agenda. He’s said it himself after toppling Assad: “Now we go for Jerusalem.”

That’s not rhetoric. That’s a promise. And anyone who dismisses it as mere posturing has learned nothing from ISIS, Hamas, or Hezbollah.

The world keeps trying to patch up Syria with UN fantasies and meaningless “ceasefires.” But the Druze know better. That’s why they’re waving Israeli flags and chanting for Israeli protection.

Not because they want to be ruled, but because they want to live.

So here’s the hard truth: The only way to protect both the Druze and Israel’s northern border is through a secure Israeli-controlled buffer zone in southern Syria up to Damascus, free from jihadist militias, and international interference.

This won’t be easy. Not with Turkey and Qatar propping up HTS. Not with the Trump-aligned foreign policy figures still clinging to old deals and dangerous friendships. And not with the world asleep at the wheel, pretending neutrality is a strategy.

But that doesn’t change the moral and strategic imperative.

The Druze are not our enemies. They are our allies. And now they are crying out to us, not to the UN, not to America, not to the Arab League. To us, the Jewish state of Israel.

Israel has a responsibility, yes, to itself, but also to those who recognize our humanity and seek our protection.

The time to act is now. The world must wake up and follow Israel’s lead.

  1. The only way for this suggestion to work is if Israel takes over southern Syria. No UN (blue helmet) forces will stand up for the Druze and none of them will be willing to rebuff Syrian advances. Not even the US because they don’t want their sons killed in a foreign land either.
