Peloni: This is a highly recommended article. This essay should be on the lips of every Jew, every Christian ally of the Jews, and every right and moral thinking person. Avi Abelow brilliantly tells the truth about Settler Violence, why it is emphasized while ignoring the terror facing Jews every day. It tells the truth about the hilltop youths, about the settler movement, and about the ignorance and betrayal which paints these heroes as villains simply because they are Jews. Bravo Avi!

How can you tell things are going well for Israel? Suddenly, “settler violence” is dominating the headlines again, bringing negative press and renewed threats of diplomatic pressure against Israel.
There is something deeply disturbing happening right now, and if you’re honest with yourself, you feel it.
This is not random and not accidental. It is a campaign, a narrative being pushed with precision, repetition, and intent. They call it “settler violence,” but what it really is… is a modern-day blood libel.
While Jews in Israel are living under constant threat, missiles raining down, shootings, stabbings, jihadi terror, there are entire ecosystems of media voices, NGOs, and self-proclaimed Jewish moral authorities obsessively focused on one thing: blaming Jews.
Not Hamas. Not the jihadist terrorists openly calling for our destruction and acting out their eviil jihadi intent. Not the genocidal modern day Amalek ideology driving this war.
No. Their focus is Jews. “Settler” Jews.
The amount of fabricated and distorted stories about “settler violence” over the years is staggering. There is hardly ever context, verification, no patience for facts, just headlines, accusations, and condemnations that spread like wildfire in the press and on social media.
And once those accusations are out there, the damage is done. Because truth is not the goal. Justice is not the goal. The goal is delegitimization.
What makes this even more painful is that too many Jewish voices are at the forefront of spreading these accusations, believing they are acting morally, when in reality they are enabling a dangerous distortion that harms their own people.
The deepest failure is not just the criticism, it is the blindness to the evil we are confronting.
An enemy culture called “palestine” (an identity invented by the Soviets in the 1960’s to legitimize terror against Jews and the destruction of Israel) that glorifies violence, educates children toward hatred, and celebrates the destruction of Israel, is treated as if it shares our moral framework. It does not.
While the world ignores institutions that perpetuate this ideology, systems that honor terrorists and indoctrinate the next generation, these same Jewish voices choose instead to virtue-signal by condemning fellow Jews.
The result is predictable and devastating: international pressure, diplomatic threats, even from allies, and a weakening of Israel’s ability to defend itself.
The clearest sign that this is political and ideological, not moral, is this: the same voices that obsess over “settler violence” to then create the headlines, are largely silent about the jihadi evil we are actually facing. They reserve their outrage for fellow Jews, even joining public protests alongside our enemies, claiming to “protect” them from their own people.
This is part of a broader effort to morally equate Israel with Hamas, to blur the line between a democratic nation defending its people and a terrorist organization that celebrates murder, rape, and kidnapping.
That is exactly why stories like the Sde Teiman prison were pushed so aggressively, to paint IDF soldiers, our sons, husbands and friends, as monsters. As rapists against a horrific Hamas terrorist.
Let that sink in. Jewish soldiers fighting a barbaric enemy were turned into the villains of the story, by Jews, by senior officials in the Israeli justice system, together with their willing partners in the mainstream media.
Even though the truth has emerged that it was all fabricated, with the biggest proof of the fabrication being that the justice system itself released the alleged “raped” Hamas terrorist to Gaza without holding him for court testimony, one of those soldiers is already gone. He took his own life. Because of a horrific lie based on a campaign to make our IDF soldiers look like mosters. Because of a blood libel. And no quiet correction, no buried retraction, no apology from the justice system and the journalists or editors will ever bring him back. All of those soldiers lives were ruined.
Meanwhile, this is the reality we are actually living: just minutes from Jewish communities, in the Arab village of Beita, this week ten jihadi Muslims were caught with M16s, explosives, and remote detonation devices. They had dug a six-meter-deep pit, yes, a pit, to kidnap Jews and hide them underground. This was not theoretical. This was operational. They had already carried out attacks, already wounded soldiers, some of them severely.
This is the daily genocidal modern Amalek terror threat that we live with. And yet, where are the headlines? Where is the outrage? Where are the same voices who scream nonstop about “settler violence”? Silence. Deafening silence. Because acknowledging this truth would destroy the narrative they are so invested in maintaining.
And just this week, another example shattered any illusion of moral clarity. Three jihadi terrorists were convicted for lynching a Jew who mistakenly entered the jihadi village of Huwara in Samaria. Beaten brutally by a mob until he lay unconscious, so badly injured that his attackers assumed he was dead and left him there. A Jew, nearly murdered simply for being a Jew in the wrong place. Security forces had to search for him after receiving reports, because his life hung in the balance. And again, where are the headlines? Where is the outrage?
Do you know how many terror attacks happened to Jews in the Arab village of Huwara, which is along a main road that Jews travel on as well? Tons. Do you know how many Jews have been killed by jihadi terrorists in Huwara? Tons.
Guess when Huwara gets headlines, after terror attacks when Jews go in there to instill the fear of God in them, because most of the time the IDF only appear after the terror attacks take place.
And then the virtue-siganlling Jews complain about “settler violence” in Huwara and raise money for the jihadis impacted.
Where are the emergency condemnations against the terror attacks against Jews that instigated the Jewish response? Silence. Because this truth does not serve the narrative.
And this reality is not new. For years, illegal Arab construction has been spreading throughout Judea and Samaria, deliberately positioned to threaten Jewish lives. Structures built overlooking highways, encroaching on our roads, creeping right up to the edges of Jewish communities. These are not innocent developments. This is all planned by the Palestinian Authority, an enemy entity that pays terrorists for killing Jews, as part of their overall plan to endanger our lives and destroy Israel.
The illegal buildings become staging grounds for terror. I know this personally, a friend of mine had bullets fired through his window from a jihadi Muslim shooting from one of these illegal structures built disturbingly close to his home.
Lives have been lost because of this reality. And even when Israel’s own High Court orders demolition, like in the case of the illegal Bedouin outpost of Khan al-Ahmar, those rulings are ignored due to pressure from foreign governments and international institutions.
So spare us the hypocrisy of global outrage over “Jewish terror,” while the world, and tragically even many Jewish voices, remain silent about the very real and ongoing jihadi terror directed at Jews every single day.
Investigations have shown that many of the incidents labeled as “settler violence” were in fact acts of self-defense, responses to attacks or imminent threats. Are there cases where Jews act unlawfully? Sure, and in such cases they must be dealt with fully and justly. But to take those cases, strip them of context, amplify them globally, and use them to define an entire population with “settler violence” and “Jewish terror”, while ignoring the scale of the jihadi evil we face on a daily basis that has massacred babies in their cribs, toddlers in their strollers, whole families in their homes, and the atrocities of Oct. 7th, is not justice. It is willful distortion. It is hateful, against fellow Jews.
Another truth that is consistently ignored is the role of the communities in Judea and Samaria themselves, towns, cities, farms, outposts, and especially those young men and women living on isolated hilltops.
These are not fringe actors detached from reality; they are often the first line of deterrence against encroachment and terror. In a Middle East jihadi region where weakness is exploited and presence determines control, their very existence sends a message: Jews are not disappearing from their land. All of Israel i better protected because of these outposts and farms, which is why the IDF supports there development. 18, 19, 20 year old boys and girls act as a huge deterrence against our jihadi enemies.
For years, the IDF, despite its strength, has not always been able to prevent every car-ramming, every shooting, every threat emerging from our jihadi Amalek enemy in the illegal structures built dangerously close to Jewish roads and homes.
And so, yes, it is often these 18, 19, and 20-year-olds, living under harsh conditions in barren areas, who create a level of deterrence that cannot be measured in reports or headlines. Do some go too far at times? Possibly, and if anyone breaks the law, they must be held accountable. But that is not what this global narrative is about.
Instead, we see endless blood libels about “settler violence” and “Jewish terror” pushed without facts, without proof, smearing entire communities while ignoring the reality they are facing.
In Judaism, we have a term for this kind of moral inversion: “merciful to the cruel, and cruel to the merciful.” Those who rush to defend those who seek to harm Jews, while condemning Jews for defending their lives, are not standing for morality, they are turning morality upside down. And when that happens, evil doesn’t just grow, it is empowered.
Instead, the world is fed a lie, that Jews are the problem, that Jewish self-defense is “terror,” that Israel is morally equivalent to Hamas. This is not journalism. This is not activism. This is propaganda, dangerous, reckless, antisemitic propaganda.
And the consequences are not abstract. They are real. They cost lives. They destroy reputations. They fracture our unity. They embolden our enemies and justify violence against Jews around the world. And once the lie is out there, it cannot simply be undone.
We are living through a war, not just a physical war, but a war for truth, for morality, for our very identity. Once again, the Jewish people are being judged by a different standard, smeared, accused, condemned, while those who seek to murder us are excused, justified, even glorified.
Enough.
Our enemy, jihadi Muslims and those who self-identify as “palestinians”, is a modern Amalek, whose own mothers are proud for them to grown up to be martyrs and murder innocent Jews.
There is no difference between the Palestinian Authority and Hamas. All their children go to the same United Nations/UNRWA schools that teach the kids to kill Jews and destroy Israel, with international funding. Have you heard any cries from global leaders or international organizations to end this genocidal education taking place with your tax-paying money? NO. Then don’t buy their cries of “settler violence”.
We will not apologize for defending our lives.
We will not accept blood libels, old or new.
And we will not stay silent while the world is fed lies about who we are.
Open your eyes. This is not about “settler violence.”
This is about a coordinated attempt to strip the Jewish state of its moral legitimacy while we are fighting for our survival, and winning.
And we will not let them.
Because we are not victims.
We are a people who have returned home.
We are strong.
We are rooted.
And we know the truth.
If all the virtue-signaling voices truly cared about life and human rights, they would demand the one path that actually protects life: that all the jihadi Muslims who support killing Jews and destroying Israel cannot live among Jews. Not in Gaza, not in Judea and Samaria, not anywhere in Israel, somewhere else, far away from us, in countries that support their genocidal jihadi Islam. Just as these jihadi Muslims can’t live in any country they publicly claim to take over and destroy.
Anyone who is quick to condemn fellow Jews but remains silent about the enemies seeking our destruction is not someone whose moral judgment anyone should take seriously.
You want to end this situation? Support Trump’s emigration plan for all jihadi Muslims from our midst. They are evil, and it is a desecration of God’s holy land that they remain.
We will overcome our enemies, and our virtue-signaling fellow Jews.
Am Yisrael Chai!!!

once the line is drawn then what? Maybe we should have a task force that travels to these wayward souls and has a come to Yeshua meeting and at the end of that meeting the waywards have expressed true heart felt repentance never to repeat their sin or they are given a one way ticket to that glorious train station in the sky. The righteous have talked long enough, me thinks it’s time to deal with the corruption starting at the stinking head of the fish and remove it in broad daylight or by the light of the moon. Makes me no never mind. It reminds me of King David, when he told his son to not let a couple of trouble makers depart in peace
TheJews who blame Jews are cowards, too afraid to get real about Arab malice, so they put it on fellow Jews. Since they want to do virtue signaling, their own lack of virtue must be pointed out.
They lack courage and wisdom. They are fools and traitors, as others here are saying. Time now for righteous Jews to draw a line and ask if they are really Jews – or erev rav?
Great article by Avi.
Don’t let the enemies of Israel control the narrative! Good to see that Avi places the word “settlers” in quotes. One is not a settler in his own land.
Every question from the media that uses the word “settlers” should be replied as “there are no settlers so your question about settler violence is not legitimate.”
Second, citizens have the right to defend themselves. We respect the Second Amendment in the US. The Amendment was created with the realization that there is a limit to protection that can be provided by State and Local authorities.
Avi has done it again! He has highlighted the fact that those Jews who are not under fire can complain day and night about their brethren without consequences. That is the real shame about this matter. Being accepted as a Jew is a little like getting your driver’s license – that is the highest grade you can get. Sure, you can have a special task or talent, not everyone can sing as well as your local cantor, but the license to be a Jew is tops. Having said that, we come to the difference between being a Jew and having a driver’s license. You can lose your license. You are still a Jew.
Avi is 100% right. These headlines always see to turn up just in time to cause a new meeting of the UNSC or a session of the ICC/ICJ. Then, those horrible Jews are blamed for everything that is wrong with the world. The number of libels increases, irrelevant of the number of proven cases of false accusations.
It seems that the world assumes that Jews can take care of themselves, but when they do, that is suddenly illegal or racist or apartheid or some-such.
Calling out settler Jews doesn’t mitigate in the slightest. From the PA/Hamas point of view, all Jews in the Holy Land are settlers and are disparaged just the same as those living in Judea and Samaria.
As far as their crimes are concerned, settlers are guilty of violence if a dog bites an Arab or even barks at him. On the other hand, trying to cause accidents on the roads in J&S by stoning or ramming or even shooting is just misbehavior if it’s the Arabs doing it, but leaving skid marks on the road while avoiding a accident is on par with direct violence.
Now we get to the meat of the article: those wonderful Jews, mostly abroad, who feel they have the right to educate and slander settlers (any Jew west of the Jordan River) about their treatment of the UNRWA supported so-called Palestinians. Just to be clear about this, any Jew born in Palestine (in the region called the British Mandate of Palestine) before May 14, 1948 is a Palestinian. Any Arab born there during the same period is a Palestinian too. These people are now 78 years old and above and love to participate in these slander sessions. Those who do not fall into this category are not Palestinians (full stop). The libel posted by Jews and Arabs against Jews anywhere is what is causing the unnecessary pain, which is only intended to get the world opinion on the side of the Arabs, most of whom wouldn’t dream of living in Israel, for example, those know-it-all Jews residing in US & EU or those especially rich Arabs who reside in the Arabia Peninsula or North Africa. The Iranians may be included here too, along with all the other members of Islam.
The worst cases of libel are those initiated by the Israeli DoJ including the police and the supreme court. They have managed, with this Sde Teiman libel, to mark all serving in the IDF as masochistic criminals capable and likely to perform the worst of perverse deeds. The truth has come out on this particular case although it is still being denied on all fronts of the establishment. The damage has been done and this slander was headline news all over the world, causing the Biondi Beach murders and other cases of terrorism. There is no way to compensate these attacks on those whom they should have been protecting.
Avi asks,
and he is again 100% right.
I was not aware of the Jew who was lynched for committing the crime of being in Huwara. What I missed even more was the allotted punishment. They were probably let off with a slap on the wrist because they were religiously authorized to lynch the Jew for trespassing or something similar. However, when the “virtue-signaling Jews complain” they actually raise money for the defense of the lynchers. Gimme a break!!
This sounds too good to be true! I support the emigration plan but I doubt if it will be implemented the way it should be. The migrated “Palestinians”
will still be demanding UNRWA support 100 years from now, even if they are richly rewarded for moving house.
Well said Avi! Every time I hear ‘settler violence’ I cringe.
It sounds as if the Israelis know who these “fellow Jews” are.
“…bringing negative press and renewed threats of diplomatic pressure against Israel…”
If so, then they should be under severe pressure as they are simply traitors.
Yes they should be called out by name!
Loud and often!
