Khaled Hassan and Tom Wegner – Abraham Accords or Alliance of Minorities? On the Future of Israel in the Middle East

Peloni: Khaled Hassan explains that by attacking Syria Israel has set itself back in the region, alienating MBS and others while upsetting a project in Syria which had the backing of the Saudis and the Americans.  While I have argued, and still do, that Israel’s support of the Syrian Druze was both moral and necessary, Hassan’s arguments are important to consider.  What do others think?

Focus on the first 40 min.

Mr. Khaled Hassan: Egyptian-British counter-terrorism researcher, political risk and intelligence analyst, founder and director of “The Western Security Network.” Hassan, who previously held antisemitic views in Egypt, underwent a fascinating personal journey that led him to convert to Judaism and live in the UK. Today, he is a prominent voice in the fight against antisemitism and Islamist extremism. Hassan will present the Saudi/Sunni approach and the potential of the Abraham Accords for expanding peace.

Mr. Tom Wegner: Strategic consultant, founder of “The Center for Middle East Normalization” (which promotes direct dialogue between Israel and the peoples of the region), and author of the books “The Abrahamic Revolution” and “Union of Believers.” Tom will represent the Jewish-Druze (and other minorities) alliance concept, arguing that this is the true key to regional stability and the fight against Islamist terrorism.

Host:
Ms. Dora Bender: Executive Director of the Democracy & Federalism Hub.

  1. Email Rec’d:

No Arab or Muslim state can be trusted because they are run by fanatics backed up by a fanatical religion and fanatical factions.
Abraham Accords can be shredded at any moment.
The West only cares to indulge these barbarians and is so corrupt has no compassion for the real victims:
Jews, Christians, Druze, Kurds, B’Hai, or any other minority; nor has the West compassion for oppressed Muslim women and children.
It is Israel’s moral duty to stand up for these victims when it can- “a light unto the nations”.
