Peloni: Rabbi Pesach Wolicki speaks with Amb. Yoram Ettinger about the potential of Turkey gaining access to the F35 program. Importantly, Ettinger explains that the point which must be made clear in Washington is that the sale of F35s will seriously diminish US interests in the region by granting the Muslim Brotherhood led Turkey access to the intelligence gathering, stealth capabilities, and fighter capacity of the F35s, much of which was secured by Israel’s role in the refining and saving the F35 from failure, which is where it was headed prior to the advances which Israel developed for the program.

Surely all of Israel’s F-55 gimmicks are tied=up contractually and likely a secret back-up plan.
The US swore never to supply F-5 equivalents to anyone else.TG
Besides….no other has the pilots TG.
@Edgar,
Good to see you posting again.
This is true, and the version of the F35s being offered to the Saudis and likely the Turks will only partially be similar to that being used by Israel, but the stealth capability and intelligence gather aspects of the plane are part of the core F35s. They won’t have the ability to integrate the planes with missile defense systems, nor to make long flights without taker refueling, nor to integrate with land, sea and cyber systems, nor to integrate its own weapon systems on board the plane. These are the distinctions between Israel’s F35I Adir and the planes being sold to the Saudis and likely the Turks.
While some analysts try to diminish the impact of this sale, it is a serious downgrade to Israel’s advance military capabilities in the region, and it provides an important access to capabilities which neither the Saudis nor the Turks have any access currently.
This deal seriously disadvantages Israel to two nations, one of which openly does not recognize Israel as a legitimate state, while the other openly discusses its desired intent to conquer Israel.
It brings in a great deal of needed cash to the US, but in exchange for this, Trump failed to even win an open ended promise of normalization without a date by MBS, but rather, a clear commitment to make any normalization deal contingent on Israel committing suicide with the creation of a second Palestinian state.
Regarding the pilot deficits in SA, this will change with time and experience. Meanwhile the question remains unsolved as to who will receive the first planes being built in the US: the Saudis with their new contract or Israel with her existing contracts still unfulfilled.
The result must be that Israel will never again share anything useful with our so-called allies.
But what most people don;lt know is that the foreign F35 sales have a satelite based kill switch.
Imagine you are Babboo MowHadMud Jabbar flying that shiny new Turkish Delight F35 at 35,000 ft and suddenly it becomes a very bad glider when someone in a NSA trailer in Arizona flips the switch.
@Donaldo
True but the greatest vulnerability of providing this technology to hostile govts is the ability to sell access of this technology to China which can backwards engineer and adapt the technology. Furthermore, the kill switch will not protect Israel or its allies from the intelligence gather capabilities extended with the sale of these plans.
Israel killed the kill switch. The others will demand the same. The Chinese will be pleased to recover the technology to do so if they don’t already have it.
Outstanding highly informative critically important details of the F35 “program” that has to be protected and not ever allowed to be obtained by the anti USA/Israel forces of EVIL in that crucial region
