It sounds right: waiting for Iran to fire a volley of rockets just before the elections to convince the Israel public to elect Bennet or Lapid or somebody else who is more “aligned” with what the EU is demanding, is very likely to happen.
The only way to avoid that, if that is what we want, is to make sure that Iran cannot or is unwilling to even try to fire rockets towards Israel.
The alternative is to acquiesce to the inevitable and let them win, yet again, to prove, yet again, that they are uncapable of ruling the country except along the lines that the judiciary prescribe, which, as we have all seen, is the wrong way. While the two state solution would be the very first step along the way, the rest of Israel would suddenly be under the same hammer and the holy sites in Jerusalem would be under Saudi control.
