  1. I read a different take on what Trump is trying to achieve here:

I think if you start out from a position of mistrusting President Trump, you will only see negative things in what is going on between the US and Iran. You will conclude that Trump never intended to help the Iranian people get free from their totalitarian government. Trump elaborated on his goals in his Truth Social post. But beyond that is his vision. What is Trump’s vision of success in the Middle East? Is it the George H W Bush idea of making sure there are jihadi governments and non-state actors throughout the Middle East?

No I think he envisions a Middle East without fear of conventional missile and nuclear attacks from Iran. He envisions the Strait of Hormuz open and without tolls. He envisions an Iran without an Army, Navy, or Air Force, and without the missiles and nuclear facilities or materials.

He does not envision regime change like in Iraq. Trump learned how and why that failed. He envisions that the regime will inevitably change because jihad will be prevented. The US will arrange surveillance of land, sea, and air. But in addition to all this, the countries of the Middle East if they decided to work together, can share the defense responsibility and make each country open for business without prejudice against any one country, so there will be many countries all able to work with the US to prevent Iran from backsliding. This coalition of countries is Trump’s vision.

His vision is not that of the US having sole responsibility, but the US and a coalition of countries sharing responsibility, with Iran’s new government shouldering most of the responsibility for preventing war.

I do not think Trump envisions this radical Shia government as acceptable.

But the fact is, the US cannot shoot its way to “regime change.” Think about the limits of a kinetic war when Russia, North Korea, or China (nuclear powers all) can re-supply Iran at any time.

I understand the distress of Israelis who are living in the neighborhood of a mass murdering government. They want the problem solved. Any time it appears that the US is backing away from guaranteeing to solve the problem, people will feel abandoned. But I do not think that is what Trump is doing. I believe he is working on a more lasting and stable solution.

The US being on a permanent war footing in any part of the world is unsustainable for the US economy and for the American people at large. It is not a sign of a US abandoning Israel, or any given US government being prejudiced against the Jews of Israel.

Trump is changing a lot both in the US and in the world. It is not business as usual in the way the British empire/City of London want business as usual to be. The City of London wants to ensnare the US and Israel in a war that is unwinnable.

I think there are many who do not realize Trump is going to change the world by ending the City of London/globalist efforts to extract wealth and resources and create never ending wars for their profit.
