Attempted Beheading in Belfast Sparks Violence

Peloni:  Anti-migrant protests broke out in Ireland after video of a Sudanese migrant trying to behead a man with a knife went viral.  Counter migrant protests followed shortly afterwards.  The victim of the barbaric attempted beheading suffered multiple stab wounds to the head and neck but is reported to have survived the attempted beheading due to the efforts of bystanders to beat the apparently gleeful savage off of him.  The graphic unedited video is at the bottom, but viewer discretion is advised for both the edited and unedited videos.

Police in Northern Ireland say they have arrested a Sudanese man in his 30s for a brutal stabbing attack in Belfast late Monday night. Graphic video of the incident shows a man straddling another man lying in a street and slashing him several times in the head and neck with a knife. Eventually, a group of bystanders intervenes, hitting the attacker with a stick until police arrive.

The victim survived and is in the hospital with severe injuries, authorities say.

The stabbing, which U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called “sickening” has sparked calls from far-right conservative groups for mass anti-immigration protests, CBS News’ @RamyInocencio reports. https://cbsn.ws/4uohWFG
