The Synagogue is Irrefutable proof that Jewish Indigeneity belongs to the Levant.   — “Hallelujah”

When the Palestinian Municipality of Ramallah pressured organizers to cancel Leonard Cohen’s scheduled concert in 2009, and subsequently banned the iconic band Boney M from performing their hit “Rivers of Babylon” at the Palestine International Festival in 2010, the public justifications leaned on political boycotts and administrative sensitivities.

For Boney M, local officials claimed the lyrics—drawn directly from Psalm 137, mourning the Jewish exile in Babylon—offended Muslim nonsensicality . However, these cultural cancellations are symptomatic of a much deeper, systemic phenomenon: the reliance on collective misinformation and revisionist history to delegitimize the foundational history of the Jewish people and the land of Judea.

To understand why a song mourning Zion or a Jewish poet singing “Hallelujah” is deemed intolerable in Ramallah, one must examine the theological and historical framework upon which both Christianity and Islam were built. Both Christianity and Islam are structurally dependent on the texts of Judaism.

Without the Torah, the Hebrew Bible, and the Book of Genesis, the theological scaffolding of both subsequent religions would collapse.

Judaism stands on its own distinct, documented antiquity, chronicled through prophets who lived, wrote, and prayed as Jews. Jesus of Nazareth and the figures of the Old Testament lived centuries before the concepts of “Christian” or “Muslim” existed; their covenant was defined by Hebrew scripture and foundational commands like the covenant of circumcision, performed eight days after birth—a practice defining Jewish identity from Abraham to Jesus.

Modern Western political activism frequently applies the label of “European colonizers” to  [Israeli ] Jews, a narrative that completely inverts classical history and is directly refuted by archaeological reality. The physical emergence of the synagogue proves that Jewish indigeneity belongs inherently to the Levant.

During the First and Second Temple periods, Jewish life and worship were entirely centralized around the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, resulting in a total absence of synagogues across mainland Europe during the First Temple era and only a single-digit handful of verified structures—such as the 1st-century BCE Delos Synagogue in Greece—prior to 70 CE.

Jews living in the ancient world could not have routinely gathered for Shabbat in European communal structures that did not exist; instead, the global institutional proliferation of the synagogue was a direct consequence of European imperialism. The demographics of the first century establish that the Middle East, with several hundred synagogues serving hundreds of thousands of people, was the overwhelming heart of the Jewish world, while Europe held only 20 to 50 synagogues serving a small minority fraction.A single ancient synagogue typically served an average congregation of 50 to 150 people in rural towns, though massive urban basilicas in cities like Alexandria or Jerusalem could accommodate thousands of worshipers simultaneously. Applying these figures to the data reveals the following breakdown:

The Middle East : With  480 synagogues in Jerusalem alone and dozens more excavated across Judea and Galilee, these institutions anchored an indigenous population numbering in the hundreds of thousands.  Europe: With only 20 to 50 synagogues mostly concentrated in Rome and Greece, the European diaspora was a microscopic offshoot, serving roughly 25,000 to 50,000 residents. If 50 synagogues served 50,000 people: That averages out to 1,000 people per synagogue community. Multiplying 480 synagogues by 1,000 equals 480,000 people. If 20 synagogues served 50,000 people: That averages out to 2,500 people per synagogue community. Multiplying 480 synagogues by 2,500 equals 1,200,000 Jews in  the  Middle  East versus Europe’s 25000 – 50,000  Jews .This mathematical logic illustrates why legitimate  historians conclude the Middle Eastern Jewish population numbered  well over a million, heavily concentrating the global Jewish population in its native region rather than in Europe.

Logical Conclusion: The vast disparity in these numbers provides clear historical evidence that Jews are not European colonizers.

A population cannot colonize a region from a continent where they barely existed. Instead, the historical record demonstrates that Jews were an indigenous Middle Eastern people who were colonized, conquered, and forcibly displaced by European powers—specifically the European Roman Empire—which crushed Judea, destroyed its institutions, and drove the Jewish  population into exile.

It was the Roman Empire that invaded Judea in the first century, systematically destroyed the Second Temple, enslaved the Jewish population, and forcibly dispersed them into Europe—using the plundered wealth of Jerusalem to finance the construction of the Roman Colosseum. The profound historical parallel between antiquity and modern rhetoric is undeniably striking, as the efforts to sever the Jewish connection to the land follow an ancient imperial blueprint.

This historical exile represents one of the earliest documented instances of colonial imperial displacement; following the subsequent suppression of the Bar Kokhba revolt in the second century, Roman Emperor Hadrian officially renamed the province of Judea to “Syria Palaestina” in an explicit imperial effort to obliterate the historical connection between the Jewish people and their land. Ironically, this is precisely what modern revisionist historians, political activists, and anti-Semites are doing today—attempting to execute the exact same erasure of Jewish antiquity to serve a contemporary political narrative.

It is entirely obvious that the modern campaign to delegitimize Jewish indigeneity is not a novel anti-colonial movement, but rather a direct continuation of the original Roman imperial strategy designed to rename, rebrand, and replace the historical reality of Judea.

The institutional evolution of the post-exile Jewish diaspora is physically preserved in early antiquity sites like the post-70 CE Ostia Synagogue in Italy and the 3rd-century Dura-Europos synagogue in Syria.

The unique architectural layout and extensive wall paintings of Dura-Europos serve as a concrete, visual testament to this Levant-centric orientation. Rather than mirroring Greco-Roman pagan templates or European aesthetics, the central axis of the Dura-Europos assembly room was oriented directly toward a richly decorated Torah shrine built into the western wall—explicitly facing Jerusalem.

The extensive frescoes explicitly depict the Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, and scenes from Hebrew scripture, anchoring the spiritual focus of the exiled community strictly back to the Land of Israel.

These concrete monuments demonstrate that Judaism’s migration across the continent was the structural result of European Colonial Imperial displacement rather than its cause.

The profound historical irony of modern Palestinian nationalism lies in the origin of the name itself. In their geopolitical rush to sever Jewish ties to the land, Hadrian chose “Palaestina” to invoke the ancient Philistines, an extinct maritime people of Aegean/Greek origin who migrated to the southern Levant in the 12th century BCE.

This distinct, non-Semitic [Palestinian /Philistine ]European population vanished from history by the late 5th century BCE after being conquered by Babylon. Crucially, the Philistines [Palestinians] were the bitterest, most formidable biblical enemies of King David—the very same figure revered in Islamic theology as the Prophet Daud [Jewish King of Israel not Palestinian  King of Palestine]  By adopting a regional identifier manufactured by Roman occupiers from an extinct Aegean tribe, modern Arab nationalist movements have inadvertently anchored their identity [Philistine /Palestinian] to the absolute worst enemies of the Hebrew prophets they claim to worship.

When Islam emerged in the 7th century, it absorbed the narratives of the Hebrew Bible, venerating the ancient Israelite kings as Islamic prophets. The Quran praises King David for saving the Children of Israel from the army of the Philistines (Jalut).Over the centuries, the Roman-imposed geographic term Palaestina evolved under Arab rule into Filastin [no letter P in Arabic ] .Consequently, modern political terminology creates an intense paradox: Islamic tradition fiercely honors an Israelite King for defeating an army named the Philistines—the exact linguistic root and historical moniker that designates the land and people of modern Palestine.

This inversion of history found its modern political utility during the Cold War era.

The geopolitical framework of the modern Palestinian national movement was heavily influenced by a strategic partnership between Yasser Arafat and the Soviet Union’s KGB. Through sophisticated Cold War information campaigns, the Soviet bloc helped manufacture an anti-colonial narrative designed to strip Israel of its historical legitimacy, transforming an ancient indigenous people into an emblem of Western imperialism.

Under the blinding power of anti-Zionism, modern Western intellectuals [intentionally]fail to see that every text establishing the Abrahamic God is inherently Zionist, inextricably bound to Zion and the City of David.

Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” relies entirely on this appropriated Jewish tapestry, capturing how King David succumbed to temptation with Bathsheba on his roof and referencing how Samson was stripped of his strength when Delilah cut his hair.

“You saw her bathing on the roof / Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you” [1]

“She tied you to a kitchen chair / She broke your throne, and she cut your hair” [1]

While the Western world often subjects Christianity to rigorous historical and textual criticism, a profound double standard applies to the examination of Islam. Textual and historical critiques note deep contradictions within Islamic tradition. Over the last 1400 years, the tradition has preserved the foundational account of Muhammad as an illiterate desert warrior receiving a complex, poetic text over 23 years.

Mohammad’s  legacy of illiteracy has arguably manifested in a structural dependence within the ideology itself.

Large segments of the population historically relied on specialized “experts” and clerics to read, interpret, and mediate the Arabic text for them—creating an environment where the masses remain uncritical of their own foundational texts, treating complex historical questions with the simplicity of a children’s book.

Furthermore, critical analysis reveals severe contradictions between popular narratives and historical realities.

While marketed globally as an egalitarian “religion of peace,” the Islamic empire was expanded through extensive military conquest, subjugation, and a vast Arab slave trade across the Sahara and Indian Ocean that historically spanned more than a millennium and involved millions of enslaved Africans—a reality frequently ignored by Western intellectuals. Similarly, underlying traditions reveal deeply uncomfortable metaphors; critics point to explicit theological mandates, such as the ordered slaughter of black dogs within specific Hadiths, as symbolic of deeper, ingrained prejudices within early Islamic culture. Combined with persistent socio-cultural practices in regions like Pakistan—such as the high prevalence and documented genetic deformities resulting from multi-generational first-cousin marriages—the historical record describes a colonial  expansionist Islamic empire rather than an unblemished tradition of peace.

To reject “Rivers of Babylon” [Melodians / Boney M ] or “Hallelujah”[Leonard  Cohen]  in the public squares of Ramallah is not a mere act of contemporary political protest. It is an act of metaphysical and historical denial. It is a deliberate attempt to erase the primary texts that anchor the region’s history, replacing documented antiquity with a politically convenient framework designed to hide the foundational origins of the Abrahamic world. The profound historical amnesia of modern anti-Semitism is not only an absurd, obsessive hate of Jews, but a blindfold worn by the world to erase Jewish history while simultaneously utilizing and living by foundational Jewish contributions every day.

This reality is documented across a voluminous body of evidence spanning four millennia.

To engage in anti-Semitism/antiZionism while existing in the modern world requires a total detachment from the origins of one’s own daily life.

Before the Jewish people introduced their worldview to antiquity, global societies were structurally dependent on pagan pantheons where human sacrifice was standard practice. The fundamental concept of a single, universal, transcendent Creator who demands morality, justice, and mercy from humanity was introduced to the world through Abraham and the Hebrew patriarchs—a theological breakthrough without which both Christianity and Islam would completely collapse.

Furthermore, the Ten Commandments and the Mosaic Covenant introduced the concept of a rule of law that transcends earthly kings.

By establishing that every human life is created B’tselem Elohim (in the image of God), Judaism invented the moral scaffolding for the modern concept of universal human rights and equality before the law. Long before later scriptures were compiled, Jewish prophets and scribes wrote the Torah, Nevi’im, and Ketuvim, creating a monumental literary anthology that defined narrative structure, poetic metaphor, and historical prose for subsequent millennia.

When modern anti-Semites/anti Zionists  look at the stars, utilize energy, or receive medical treatment, they operate entirely within a physical reality mapped out by Jewish scientists.

The very understanding of space, time, matter, and energy was rewritten by Albert Einstein through his Theories of Relativity, while the subatomic world was unlocked largely due to Jewish physicists like Niels Bohr, who developed the foundational model of the atom, and Max Born, who pioneered the statistical interpretation of quantum mechanics. The dawn of the nuclear age was driven by minds like Lise Meitner, who co-discovered nuclear fission, and J. Robert Oppenheimer, who directed the Manhattan Project.

In modern medicine, global populations survive past infancy due to critical medical breakthroughs developed by Jewish researchers, including polio eradication spearheaded by Jonas Salk, who pioneered the inactivated polio vaccine, alongside Albert Sabin, who developed the oral polio vaccine. The discovery of Streptomycin, the first effective antibiotic cure for tuberculosis, was made by Jewish microbiologist Selman Waksman, saving countless millions of lives worldwide. The synthesis of pure Aspirin was discovered by Jewish chemist Arthur Eichengrün—a historical fact the Nazi regime systematically tried to erase—while the very foundation of modern chemotherapy was established by Paul Ehrlich, who pioneered targeted medicine and immunology.

Ultimately, every smartphone, computer network, and digital platform used to broadcast anti-Semitic rhetoric or coordinate geopolitical boycotts functions exclusively due to Jewish technological breakthroughs. The ubiquitous USB flash drive was invented by Dov Moran and the Israeli company M-Systems, while personal computing infrastructure depends heavily on vital microchip and processor technology developed by Intel Israel. Secure internet protocols protecting global banking rely on the RSA encryption algorithm, co-invented by Jewish computer scientist Adi Shamir, and wireless data packet transmission in every modern cellular phone (4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi) relies on the Viterbi algorithm, invented by Jewish engineer Andrew Viterbi.

To truly execute a complete boycott of Jewish intellectual, spiritual, and physical output, the anti-Semite/anti Zionist would have to strip themselves of their religion, dismantle their laws, discard their technology, and refuse the very medical science keeping them alive.
