The Real Scandal at the Shin Bet: Not That Director Zini Shut It Down, But That a Dedicated LGBT Budget Ever Existed There

In the upside-down world we live in, the latest manufactured outrage in Israel isn’t that Israel’s domestic intelligence agency was siphoning taxpayer money and institutional resources into ideological LGBT programming. No, the “scandal” is that the new director, David Zini, had the guts to end it.

Reports confirm what should have been obvious common sense: Zini canceled the Shin Bet’s planned Pride Month event, rejected requests for pride flags, banners, themed screensavers, stickers, and internal content distribution. Most importantly, he ordered the dedicated budget for these LGBTQ activities transferred straight into the agency’s general operating budget. No more special silo. No more official agency stamp on identity politics.

In any serious country facing existential threats, this wouldn’t even be news. It would be a normal day. The Shin Bet’s job is to stop terrorists, spies, and subversives from murdering Jews and destroying the Jewish state. Period. Every hour and every shekel spent on pride programming, affinity groups, or “social fabric” initiatives is an hour and a shekel stolen from the actual mission, the one that the leaders of the Shin Bet failed so catastrophically on October 7th and continues to be tested daily by Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and their useful jihadis inside our borders.

Yet the usual suspects are in full meltdown. Opposition politicians are calling it “dark.” Activist groups are “shocked.” The media is framing Zini as some kind of extremist imposing his “radical ideological agenda” on the poor agency. This is the progressive playbook on steroids, and we’ve all seen it before.

First they infiltrate the institutions, military, intelligence, education, corporations, with DEI-style frameworks and special budgets for favored identity groups. They make it official policy, give it protected status, and train everyone to treat dissent as bigotry. Then, the moment someone tries to restore neutrality and refocus on the core mission, they unleash the media, the NGOs, the influencers, and the political class to destroy the reformer. The real agenda is exposed by their reaction, it was never about private tolerance. It was about capturing state power to normalize and subsidize a radical destructive worldview across every sector of society.

Let’s be crystal clear, because the left loves to muddy the water. What consenting adults do in their private lives is their own business. Israel is a free country. People serve in the Shin Bet and every other security force regardless of their personal orientation, and they always have. Professionalism and loyalty to the mission are what matter, not who someone sleeps with or how they identify.

The problem is when public institutions funded by Israeli taxpayers become active promoters and funders of a specific ideological agenda. When “inclusion” means carving out special budgets, events, and internal structures that turn the agency’s gaze inward toward identity rather than outward toward the enemies who want to wipe us out. That is not a right. That is mission creep dressed up as progress, and it weakens the very institutions we rely on for survival.

This is exactly how the radical progressive project operates worldwide. It infiltrates, normalizes, then attacks anyone who fights back as the real extremist. We saw it in the West’s institutions. We saw the damage it did to cohesion, merit, and focus. Now it is being exposed that the same forces were doing it here, even inside the Shin Bet intelligence services, and they are furious that Zini is pushing back.

The attacks on him fit a pattern. The media uproar over an observant Jew who doesn’t shake hands with women. The attempts to paint him as “messianic” or dangerous simply for wanting the agency laser-focused on security rather than destructive culture-war distractions. These are not serious arguments. They are smears designed to protect an ideological foothold that never should have been there in the first place.

Director Zini is doing exactly what a responsible head of the Shin Bet should do, put every resource back where it belongs, on protecting Israeli lives. In a country still reeling from the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, and still at war on multiple fronts, anything less is negligence.

Not enough people understand that this progressive agenda, with its identity politics, legitimizing alternative lifestyles to challenge the family structure, and pushing gender insanity on the population, is straight out of the communist playbook to destroy the West. Our countries have fallen for it hook, line, and sinker. Finally, there’s pushback against state-supported initiatives pushing these dangerous anti-God agendas on Israeli society.

The manufactured scandal reveals more about the accusers than about Zini. It shows how deeply the progressive capture has gone, and how allergic its defenders are to anyone who dares to say: our security agencies exist to keep Jews safe, not to host internal pride campaigns.

Israel was built by people who understood that weakness and distraction are luxuries we cannot afford. David Zini appears to understand that. The rest of us should stop falling for the outrage machine and start supporting leaders who put the survival and strength of the Jewish state above ideological fads.

Wake up. The threats are real. The mission is clear. And the only real scandal is how long it took for someone to say enough.

Am Yisrael is finally waking up and being redirected against this progressive, communist insanity.

Now we must ensure that the next government is free of those parties desperate to reinstate this destructive agenda inside the Shin Bet and throughout our vital security institutions.

Am Yisrael Chai!!!
