Connecticut: New law requires educators to develop curriculum materials for Islamic, Arab studies

Holocaust and genocide studies are certainly not the same as advancing Islamic and Arab studies materials. Does the law include curriculum materials for Judaism studies?

Let’s hope this ridiculous law is challenged legally. Already it’s drawing such concern:

Chris Healy, executive director of the Connecticut Catholic Conference, concurred. The Courant cited him as saying that the Islamic curriculum “validates, endorses the teaching of public religion in a public school, which is a clear violation of the First Amendment.”

“This is so clearly unconstitutional,” he said. “These issues were brought respectfully to the legislators, and yet they decided to go forward.…

It’s a DEI curriculum that’s intended to be force-drilled into the minds of youngsters. The curriculum is a win for Islam and its Sharia encroachments across the West. It’s no surprise that “several Muslim leaders and Democratic politicians mostly welcomed the move.”

Given the expansionary nature of Islam, what could possibly go wrong? Especially when an unindicted coconspirator in jihad terror funding case, CAIR, is there to “make sure” the curriculum is implemented to its own satisfaction.

Farhan Memon, CAIR-CT chairman, stated: “We want to make sure that as the state fulfills its mandate to create this curriculum, that it’s done with a view that’s not only accurate, but also ensures that we’re not introducing new biases into the curriculum at the same time..”

CAIR was declared a terrorist organization in Florida and Texas.

Educators in Connecticut must develop curriculum materials for Islamic and Arab studies according to a new state law that went into effect earlier this month.

The new law, which appears as a small provision in a larger bill, requires the State Board of Education (SBE) to make curriculum materials available to school boards on Islamic and Arab studies and encourage them to provide this instruction.

The law already requires SBE to make curriculum materials available for various other programs, such as African-American and Black studies, Puerto Rican and Latino studies, Native American studies, and Asian American and Pacific Islander studies, and the Holocaust and genocide awareness.

After the state develops the materials to teach Islamic and Arab studies, it will be optional for districts to include the studies in their own curricula.

Several Muslim leaders and Democratic politicians mostly welcomed the move.…

  1. During the Obama era debate over allowing Syrian Muslim refugees in to the U.S., all I heard was compassion on one side and fear of potential terrorism ( which did occur) on the other. Nobody mentioned education and future educators. Not to mention voting and running for office. Everybody gets to participate in a democracy. All the more reason to be careful of who you let in. During the Cold War, only anti-Communists were allowed to immigrate from Communist coountries. We never acknowledged that we have been in a Cold War with Islam for a very long time. Or we stopped acknowledging it. Detente is not peace. It’s a hudna.

  2. School Board Draws Fire over Holocaust Assignment

    Citizens of Rialto, California, blasted their local school board Wednesday night over an assignment telling students to decide if the Holocaust really happened.

    Eighth graders were asked to write an essay about whether the Holocaust was an historical event, a “political scheme,” or “propaganda tool.”

    The San Bernardino Sun reported that last week the Anti-Defamation League complained to school board interim Superintendent Mohammad Z. Islam.

    The district initially defended the assignment.

    But after angry citizens confronted the board Wednesday, the panel condemned the assignment, calling it “horribly inappropriate.”

    The eighth graders will now be taken to sensitivity training at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles.
